Interview with Naman Dave, the author of "Could be a hero"

Greetings Sir..

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I'm 21year old pusuing my engineering in Electrical and electronics from Srm university Delhi Ncr. Apart from that I'm a sports lover, book lover and always want to do something new.

When did you first start writing?

I started to write when I was 10 years old.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Not really but I used to write my everyday actions in the form of diary, some good stories as a child, then I started writing blogs in 2015 and finally ended up writing my debut book.

How did you get interested in writing?

After reading a lot of books and articles I too wanted to write something because writing is the best way to share one's thought and vision to the world.

Who are your favourite authors? Why?

There is no particular favorite author. I just love to read autobiographies and non fiction books whichever have some attractive title and from which I may get something to learn I just pick that up.

Tell us about your book, sir.

The title of the book is Could Be A Hero and It is based on cricket. The book revolves around the life of protagonist Anup dave.

Reason behind this title?

Success stories gives motivation but a failure story provides perspective. "Could be a hero" as the title says at the end nothing could be more painful than this. It shows the impact of ones hardwork, practice, training and the decisions one make in becoming a hero or just another 'Could be a hero'.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

The purpose of writing this book is to inspire the coming generation who wants to play cricket but unaware of what it takes to be a cricketer and how the entire system works. This book carries reader through all the good and bad decisions, challenges and hardships faced by Anup Dave in his career.

Is this your debut book?

Yes It is my debut book.

Is this a fiction or inspired from real life?

This story is inspired by the true events in the life of the protagonist, Anup Dave. This is his journey from a place devoid of any cricket facility to winning the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup 1999-2000

Who has been your inspiration?

The two people whom I adore and idolise the most from my childhood are Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer. Both have inspired me a lot and I want to be like them as a kind of human being they are.

What is your passion sir?

My passion is to be good at what i do To learn things and master them quickly, to amaze myself with my creativity before anyone else.

How do you feel when you write?

It depends what I am writing. When I begin a book, I am concentrating so hard I don't pay attention to my emotions. I just want to get the first page down. I think I feel excited but it is such an intense moment of concentration at the beginning, especially. As I get into the rhythm of writing, I experience all kinds of emotions according to what is going on in the book with the characters.

What are your other hobbies?

My hobbies include reading books, playing tennis and cricket, Trying a lot of new food and ofcourse travelling.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

Its really very amazing from the very first day. All the staff the consultant, manager all are very kind and helpful.

When can we expect your next book?

Just started framing the story in my mind. It will take 1 year for the next book to hit the bookshelf.

Finally, few words of advice for the budding writers?

Whenever you thought of writing a book your main focus must be on ploting a good story and its characters and then just write to finish don't bother about your errors and mistakes just write till you finish it. Errors and mistakes can be resolved in the editing phase but finishing the first draft is very important.
