Interview with Shresht Gupta, the author of "The Diary Unperceived"

Greetings Sir...

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I am Shresht Gupta and I am currently carrying out my class 12th From United Public School, Kanpur.

When did you first start writing?

I initiated writing at the age of 16 only. I think It was mid of July, when I started writing and completed this novel within 27 days. Though, everything has its own pros and cons... It did result me positively but negatively as well...

Do you remember what you wrote first?

"The Diary Unperceived" is the second piece of literature I wrote since I found literature as an influencing and peaceful pursuit. Before my debut novel I wrote one poetry "A Burning Desire".

The anecdote of that poetry was to make people understand about the consequences of laziness and thus, generating an urge to do something in their life.

"A man with a burning desire,

Retaining the conflagration of fire,

For the dreams and leisure of life,

What many men can only admire...

A man with a burning desire,

Who is willing to fly through People's company,

And never tries to find where he could fit,

Because fake people care for their image,

Real People just don't give a shit...

A man with a burning desire,

Who refuses to go for every temptations,

Who is eager to walk across difficult roads,

Are often led to beautiful destinations...

A man with a burning desire,

seldomly feels negative and low,

Then realize, whom do I need to prove wrong,

How far and where Did I come from...

A man with a burning desire,

Who implements upon facts instead of false,

Realizes if he kept doing what he always do,

He would get what he has always got...

A man with a burning desire,

Observing the world full of treachery,

One who retain the courage to change the world,

Is the one, who gives a living example of bravery..."

How did you get interested in writing?

Getting inspired is good but Inspiring someone is great. I want to be one that inspire those who aspire.

Who are your favourite authors? Why?

I have no such Ideals in my writing Pursuit as I have never read a novel. I took an oath and a decision that if I would ever read any novel that would be of my own. That burning desire led me the way to "The Diary Unperceived".

"Shresht Gupta a 12 years old introvert boy who was enjoying his life auspiciously and happily when The intense clock of misfortune stroke him and broke him down....

He was an enthusiast who was deeply connected to all and afraid of losing anybody ...

He couldn't bear the agony and catastrophe of his heart when he heard Vishwaas being slipping down in the mouth of devil himself at the most awaited and auspicious day of the year....

He had barely recover through his depression but the time was ready with another surprise for him.....

Similar situation arose when the fragment of his heart left this world within a blink of an eye ...

After the series of tribulations of the two souls he loved the most in his life....

He came to realize and understand the basic perks of life like Love, Future, pain and Most importantly Death...

But lost his faith upon GOD completely......

But the reality encountered him in the most unprecedented way when he thought if two souls whom he loved the most in his life had left this world within a blink of an eye....

The secrets, the sorrows and everything were left untold....

If everyone has to leave him one day...

Then what is there that would remain with him till the end of his life and even beyond his life....?

The revival of faith occurred when he realised what is there that would remain with him even beyond death, he started looking things the way they are....

And a weeping child was converted into a Grown man through the washing waves of time....

He got connected to something through which no force in this world can drive him away from and whole world is connected to something through which no force in this world can stop them being driven away from what they love..."

Reason behind this title?

The Title justifies the importance and Relevance of the understanding towards the simplest but the most significant perks of life like love, Destiny, Future, Pain, and most importantly Death

The title is apt according to the anecdote of the book because everyone is aware of these important perks of life.... But they see them through the filter fit by the society in their eyes. It requires a clear understanding of reality to understand these simplest but the most significant perks of life.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

The main reason behind writing this book is to make people understand that they have gone through nothing compared to "Shresht" in "The Diary Unperceived" yet most of the people keep on crying for the one reason or the another.

People need to understand that life can be much more elegant if they posses the right vision. The right vision is derived by right understanding of the things happening.

In today's world, people are grown in myths and die in lies. Nobody ever even enquire the truths of life. I am doing a very difficult job that is of pulling people out of the traps constructed by the society in their mind.

Most of the people in this world are troubled by those problems which do not even exist in reality but they have created that problem in their mind. This is the prime reason behind writing this book, to make people understand that right vision and right Understanding can make solve the toughest problems of life within a blink of an eye.

Is this your debut book?

Yes, this is a debut novel of mine.

Your views on life?

In today's world, 99% of people run behind money and success. They do not understand that success comes to those who are too busy to even look for it. People need to understand that money is just a necessity for survival nothing more than that.

People who are scared of the future always fail not because they fail to achieve what they desire but they achieve what they actually desired. They do not even know their potential yet they settle up with just a satisfactory job.

In reality, survival is totally different and Happiness is totally different. Money is required for survival not happiness...

People should Earn that much money so they do not ever need to worry about money and enjoy their life but people fail to understand this and consider money as the source of happiness and die in the pursuit of money only..... The earlier they'd understand this truth, earlier they could would start living their life ....

That means life should be considered as an adventure. Everyone has come here for such beautiful juncture and has to return to his supreme place one day.

Is this a fiction or based on true story?

My book is completely based upon reality. The one who has perceived such series of tribulations knows very well how difficult it could be to bear the agony of losing our loved ones and many times the clock shows us an extreme misfortune of losing valuable assets of life one after another.

Who has been your inspiration?

To be Honest, my one and only inspiration and idol is Steve Jobs who established the Apple and Pixar. I consider him my idol and plan to make him my rival in the similar industry only. No matter wherever he's gone.... The fire in my heart to surpass him would remain ignited forever...

What is your passion?

My passion is Commercial Studies and I look after Persuing Economic Honours from Delhi University. Writing is my hobby which I have realized at the age of 16 but I live a dream of being an Entrepreneur one day.

How do you feel when you write?

I don't think I feel anything while writing. My fingers function on their own. My mind is always plunged into imagination while writing and I loose myself into that particular moment while writing.

What are your other hobbies?

I am a deep enthusiast of Dance. I also Love doing aerial stunts. My passion is none other than Commercial studies and in literature I am indulged in activities like debate and declamation.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

My journey with Blue Rose Publishers has been extremely well. I think working with Blue Rose Publishers was a very Good decision.

When can we expect your next book?

I don't think I'll be writing any book in near future as I need to look after my 12th and further studies as writing demands a lot of time and I seriously cannot afford that.

Few words you would like to say to your readers.

I would like to request readers to put their own feet into the shoes of "Shresht" and enjoy traveling their own journey because this journey is not about "Shresht" or a particular person. Life is definitely not the way as we think of it, life is way more elegant than we ever thought if we see the things like they actually are and with the right vision. "The Diary Unperceived" is recommended to those who has at least asked once in his life "Who Am I ?". I wrote that book as the very prior stage of self discovery that must be known and understood by everybody...

Finally, few words of advice for the budding writers?

Being the 2nd youngest author of Uttar Pradesh, I would like to tell every budding writer to just keep going. It always seems impossible until it is done by someone else. No matter, what you write or how bad you write in terms of errors or imagination, you must keep going and do not stop until it's done..
