Interview with Pratik, the author of "The Speaking Soul"

Greetings Sir..

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview with the first question.

Can you tell us about yourself?

Yes ofcourse. Presently I am a third year student pursuing B.Com Hons and as well as preparing for MBA entrance examination.

When did you first start writing?

I don't remember it exactly but it was somewhere in class 11 when I developed some interest in writing and started with poetries.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Yes, definitely. The journey started by writing a poem for one of my best friend. She had forced me to write something on her and I ended up writing a 88 line poem J

Can you kindly share with us?

Umm I am really very sorry but it was bit personal.(Blushes)

Haha.. We understand ;)

How did you get the interest in writing?

She just loved the poem I wrote on her and thus insisted me to write further more poems giving my journey a happening start.

Who are your favourite authors? Why?

Actually I am not much into reading novels but some of my favourite authors are Arundhati Roy, Vikram Seth, Jhumpa Lahiri, Ruskin Bond etc.

Tell us about your book Sir.

This book is a collection of 42 poems which are written randomly without any specific context. Every reader can easily get connected to any of the poems written as they describe feelings that usually a human soul goes through.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

The main purpose of the book is to keep my writings as a memory for ages.

Do you write stories too?

Yes I do. I am presently working on it and most probably my third book will be a collection of short stories.

Who has been your inspiration?

Every single person I meet in my day to day life is my inspiration. There is no one in specific.

What are your views on love and relationship?

They both are a beautiful feeling for a soul to feel and experience. They are very fragile in nature and must be handled with care.

How should a story or a poem be, according to you?

According to me, a poem or a story must touch the readers heart and something to which a reader can relate.

How do you feel when you write?

Hahaha. I always write when I am emotional. And as soon as I finish writing, my mood turns up to be better.

What are your other hobbies?

Other hobbies are surfing on youtube, travelling to raw palces, and trying out new cuisines at different places as I am a big foodie. Hahaha.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

It was just awesome and a hassle free journey. They are the best.

When can we expect your next book?

By end of this year, I guess.

Can we know what is it about?

It will be a collection of short stories.

Not exactly but want to give them a hope that I will not let them down with my writings in future.

Yes, just write what your heart feels and never get distracted by negative comments because a book can never be judged by its cover.
