Interview with Konark Mahima, the author of "The Visa Of Love"

Greetings Konark,

Hope you had a great day...

Can you tell us about yourself?

Writing is my first love from my childhood and in my childhood I used to write stories but I never noticed about this talent. It gives me pleasure and satisfaction. Day by day my love towards writing is increasing and I don't know when writing became my passion. As I belong to Engineering background it is pre decided that I will be an engineer. But I don't want to be an engineer and the reason is very simple. My dad is a Government Civil Engineer and due to hectic work schedule he spends very less time with us. And I don't want to repeat the same thing with my kids. That's why I don't want to be an engineer.

But my family was more interested in engineering. So they took me to engineering college and admitted me in college. After spending time in engineering college I get attached to bricks , steel bars and cement. After some time I started liking my studies. And in the end I became an engineer.

After completing my college I got Government job within 8 months. Now I'm an Government Civil Engineer. Due to engineering and job I stopped writing. One day I was sitting in my room and analysing that the pleasure is not in my life. So I started writing story. I observed people and their emotions and I started traveling to find inspiration and motivation in life.

How did you fall in love with writing?

You can say that it's a God's gift . In my childhood my friend called me and said hey share an interesting story. I narrated a story to them. They really liked it and they appreciated my work. So I thought it is the only thing which I enjoy. In my college all my friends know about it. And they also requested me to share the various stories written by me and they feel very happy for me . And that's how I started falling in love with writing.

Who's your favorite author?

Munshi Prem Chand in hindi literature, Chetan Bhagat and Sudhir Nagarkar

Why do you like them?

Because while reading the book you get attached with the characters and situation and that's most important thing.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

In my childhood I wrote a story named king and his treasure

What is it about?

It's based on how kings keep their treasure safe and what tricks they use

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I'm inspired from nature. Because while sitting in my garden the idea of a story strikes my head and I will pen down it and start working on it And observing people

How was this publishing journey?

It is very lovely and amazing. When I wrote the story I was little scared that they might reject it. Fortunately they liked it. And the amazing journey started

How supportive were your family?

They are very much supportive specially my mom and brother. And my sister and her husband. I want to surprise my dad so I didn't tell him regarding this

When will you be saying this to him?

When it was published I showed him the poster and book.He was very happy

Do tell us about your book Visa of Love.

It's based on youth who are going to western country and how they survive. When Career comes in love how they handle it

Don't you think this book was short?

Yeah it is short. Because if I wrote a big book with more pages then people used to avoid because today everyone is busy. So I decided to write a short book so that people read it with pleasure

When can we expect your next book?

I'm working on it. In December it will be finished

It's all about love destiny

What do you like to say to your readers?

Follow your dreams and enjoy your work

Your piece of advice to budding writers?

Just focus on the emotions which is inside you and focus on the situation on which you are writing. Pen it down with out any greed.
