Interview with Arhaa, the author of "Express & Espresso - Heavenly combo"

Greetings Arhaa...

Hope you are doing well. Let me begin my interview with the first question.

Can you tell us about yourself?

Am from Bangalore, belonging to a typical kannadiga family. Started as an electronics engineer but luckily found what I love doing post my MBA i.e. marketing. Have been working for more than a decade now & am always in love with life

When did you first start writing?

Last year i.e. 2017.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Like everyone else, have been scribbling since I was a child

How did you get the interest in writing?

Yet to decipher how writing chose me rather than me choosing it. Happened organically last year. May be, it's in the genes, my mom is an established kannada writer

Who are your favorite authors? Why?

Strangely, I don't read much. Strongly connect to Jane Austen's writing. Scarlet O'Hara from Gone with the wind is one of my favorite character & wonder how Margaret Mitchell could think of a protagonist who is so unconventional & imperfect yet endearing at that era. Also, loved Anne Frank's Diary of a young girl

Tell us about your book.

Series of heartfelt feelings expressed as thoughts covering subjects that matter to all of us

What is the purpose of writing this book?

Honestly, there was no any purpose behind it. It happened organically & I just went with the flow. That said, Even if a single person gets influenced & develops a fresh perspective by breaking stereotypes then I would consider myself blessed

Who has been your inspiration?

Enriching life experiences

What is the reason behind choosing this title?

Personally, I find nothing more calming than a lovely conversation where I get to express my thoughts sipping my espresso with someone whom I can connect with. It's a heavenly feeling. Hence the title. Empty paper/word doc is always a good listener if you choose to confide in it by writing/typing

Non-fiction genre

What were the struggles you faced while writing this book?

By God's grace, none

How was the response for this book among the readers?

Very encouraging so far.

How should a story or a poem be, according to you?

No rules. It can be any which way the author chooses to but should come from an honest place i.e. heart so that it can connect with the reader

How do you feel when you write?

Heavenly
