Greetings Abhishek..

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview with the first question.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I am Abhishek from Bhopal. I completed my engineering in 2008 and joined TCS. From 2010 I started trading and investing in stock market. Since then I am completely into stock market and do some vloging as well.

When did you first start writing?

I have been writing blogs since engineering days initially on the engineering stuff and later on about stock market. In 2016 I started writing the book.

Who has been your inspiration?

My students were the inspiration. I teach fundamental and technical analysis and my students suggested me to write a book.

How did you get the interest in writing?

It all started with blogging. Initially blogging was just for sharing the thoughts with the world. Later on when the blog started making some money, I became more serious and started writing blogs regularly. It's been around 10 years now since I started to write blogs.

Who are your favourite authors?

My favorite authors are Peter Lynch, Chris Guillebeau and Robert Kiyosaki. Peter Lynch's One up on wallstreet is my favorite book on investing. Chris Guillebeau's The 100$ startup is a great book on the businesses that one can start with minimum amount. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a very inspiring book on the personal finance.

Tell us about "Becoming Investorji"

Becoming Investorji, is book for beginners who wants to get started with stock analysis. It covers the things like understanding the financial statements of the companies, getting stock ideas, doing the valuation of stock price, designing and maintaining a portfolio etc.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

After reading so many books on investing, I found there not any good books in the Indian context. Also there are different book on different section of investing like for accounting, for valuation , for industries and so on. Anyone who is new cannot understand the specialized book. When I started I found it very difficult. With Becoming InvestorJi, I tried to write to a book that can help a newbie to understand all the aspects of investing.

Is this your debut book? If no, can you tell us about your first book?

I have read one more book before titled Words of Wisdom from legendary investors. It's Kindle only book and is basically a collections of quotes from the famous traders and investors.

What were the feedbacks you received from your readers?

The feedbacks are good. Everyone has liked the book and has found it useful.

Do you write poems and stories too?

No

How do you feel when you write?

If you can't explain to someone in simple language the things you have learned, you haven't learned properly. Expressing in written words is a difficult thing, maybe that's why we have exams. Writing is good experience, it solidifies your learning and it feels good. When you are writing a book, things keep revolving in the head even when you are not writing. All of sudden anytime something interesting comes in the mind that you feel you can add in the book. Many contents came in my mind while sleeping.

What are your other hobbies?

Every investor is a reader; my hobby is also reading. Apart from reading I also love making videos and writing blogs.

How supportive were your family?

Family has been very supportive. My parents and sister supported a lot.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

It was good experience.

Finally, few words of advice for the upcoming writers?

Study the subject you are writing on very nicely. While writing think from the readers angle, what exactly the reader would like to read. Keep the language simple, don't use many heavy words.
