Interview with Basheer Ahmed, the author of "He is a Victim"

Greetings Sir..

Hope you are doing good. Let me begin the interview.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I'm Basheer, Ah.. I did my degree in civil engineering and now I'm making documentaries, writing and tutoring at part times.

When did you first start writing?

I don't remember well. But, I've always been a writing kind of person. Like, I used to write diaries everyday from childhood. I think, that must be the first.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Mm.. so far I remember, it was a short story about a blind old woman. But, I don't have it now. I must have torn those pages. 😃

Yeah, it was so long ago! Probably in school times, ah... I saw this woman by my school in the road, too ill, too weak, blind and old but she was selling handmade toys. That impressed me so much. Because, usually we see people at that texture.. beg on streets. But, she was different and it affected me so much that I went ahead and wrote about her.

How did you get interested in writing?

I don't know, maybe this is where I found my peace and satisfaction.

Who are your favourite authors? Why?

Many of them, but most importantly JK Rowling. Because of her struggle and hard work. Her early days as a single mother-- living under a pension and cleaning cars was heart breaking. It made me realize how fortunate I am.

Tell us about your book, sir.

My book 'He Is A Victim' is a story of a guy named Aakash who was also a victim of child sexual abuse. It generally speaks about his life and the problem he faces as a victim.

What is the reason behind this title?

I wanna empathize the word VICTIM so people get used to it. And see it as a normal problem, anyone can have and face.

What is the purpose of writing this book?

To be honest, I want to share this world what I feel about being a victim.

Is this your debut book?

Yes, this is my first book.

Is this a fiction or inspired from real life?

It's a fiction but it has real elements enhanced inside it.

Who has been your inspiration?

Too many, I lost count actually.😊

What is your passion sir?

Actually, its finding a joy. Any kind of joy to keep me grounded and happy.

How do you feel when you write?

Relaxed, Focused, Curious but also a bit lonely. But, I like being lonely so I compensate my feelings.

What are your other hobbies?

I like taking documentaries and I'm concentrating on that also.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

So far, its nice. They are kind with me.

In the next 10 years where do you see yourself in the writing field?

I don't see or, predict a lot of future. Ten years is too much for my little brain. So, for tomorrow I got things to do and I have a reason to be happy and proud. This is fine for me, when that tenth year comes we'll see.

When can we expect your next book?

Not a book like a book. I'm currently working on a poetry book. Which is new and interesting for me but, I'm not sure about the time.
