More Than This
Title: More Than This
Author: Patrick Ness
Synopsis:
A boy drowns, desperate and alone in his final moments. He dies.
Then he wakes, naked, bruised and thirsty, but alive.
How can this be? And what is this strange, deserted place?
As he struggles to understand what is happening, the boy dares to hope. Might this not be the end? Might there be more to this life, or perhaps this afterlife?
My opinions:
- I had no idea that the boy, Seth, would have memories of doing... slightly sexual stuff with his guy friend.
Erm boyxboy stuff??? Not that I mind...
I was in school when I read those parts and let's just say that it was a tad awkward because I was reading this in school... with my guy friend next to me...
*coughs*
When I read that part, all I could think of was, "Well that escalated quickly".
And also the blush that I was desperately trying to hide.
Lmao
- The way the author describes Seth's search for survival items and his thoughts about it really moves my heart. It makes me want to go to Seth and give him his survival stuff myself. The air of mystery is certainly inviting, if the times I decided to read instead of doing my homework was to say something.
- The quotes found in the book are simply AMAZING.

Recommendations:
I recommend this for people around the ages of 15 and up due to some words used (nothing too major and suggestive). I'm not going to say what the words are to prevent any spoilers!
Adults can read this book as well. It is truly an amazing book.
A beautiful provocative and moving story of a boy's struggle for survival.
