Hurt

Title: Hurt
Author: Jaffacake30

Synopsis:

Brooklyn Marshall... has forgotten what it feels like to be happy. She lost her desire to shine. Living in a world where everyday is a struggle for her isn't easy. The actions of others can have great consequences.

My opinions:

- The way you write your book with all the pictures at the beginning of chapters and all are so cute for such a sad story. Why do you got to confuse me like this T_T My heart is torn in half between crying and aww-ing at your books layout. wHYYY T_T I just want to give Brooklyn a tight hug even though she's just a character. Your story triggered something in me and now my heart feels heavy and sad :( Jaffacake30 you're too good a writer in making them sad with your story.

- The way you write your chapters are short but enough to keep readers engaged and interested to continue reading. I like how each chapter is short but meaningful. Like each chapter gives an impact on its own which ends off somewhere between a cliffhanger and a conclusion. What I mean is each chapter ends with how Brooklyn feels but somehow, it also gives off the vibe of a cliffhanger and keeps readers waiting on how she will act in the next chapter.

- Character personalities are good. Both Brooklyn, Clyde and her family and, Camila's barbie squad have distinct personalities such that it's really easy to determine who are the good ones and who are the bad guys (or girls in this book). Character development is consistent such that it doesn't confuse readers which is good.

- I do wish I could read a chapter in the other character's POVs though. For example a chapter in Clyde's POV or even a chapter in barbie-wannabe Camila's POV. I want to know how he feels whenever he sees Brooklyn. Does he know her problems? How about her injuries? How about Camila? Why does she hate Brooklyn so much? Is she jealous because she was smart? Or is it because Camila envies Brooklyn's life? All these questions were running through my head as I was reading your book. Of course, this is just a suggestion so you can ignore it. But if you wish to actually write it, it can be somewhat of a bonus chapter and not an actual chapter because it might disrupt the story line.

- I didn't find any typographical or grammar errors as I was reading. I didn't find any major loopholes either so it's good. Keep it up! Also, the way you omitted out extra information/description from your chapters makes your story plot interesting because readers will become curious as to what will happen next.

Recommendations:

I strongly recommend you all out there to read this book. BUT. Prepare a box of tissues or something before you read it because this book can bring you to tears, especially if you can relate to Brooklyn. This book has a really good story plot - a simple plot but has a deep meaning as well. This book is also really good at messing up with your emotions. I know mine were left in a horrible, tangled mess after reading it. Honestly, I couldn't even give this book a proper review because I'm too affected by this book. Jaffacake30 you're the cause of my aching, sad heart right now. :( Girl, I'm going to blame you if you make me cry in this book's next update! (Just kidding!!)

Thank you for requesting Jaffacake30! :)
