Book: City of Glass by Cassandra Clare 

'I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then.' 

Summary: (Containing Spoilers) 

~Everyone ends up in Alicante (Shadowhunter city) where no downworlders are allowed but Simon ends up being pulled through the portal by Jace while they're attacked by demons.

~Clary creates her own portal and she and Luke go through, falling into Lake Lynn where she's positioned by the lake water and Luke takes her to his sister, Amitis Herondale's house.

~We meet Sebastian and Aline. 

~Simon ends up being kidnapped and thrown into prison by the inquisitor (Aldertree). He questions Simon about being able to walk in the sun despite being a vampire but Simon doesn't reveal anything about drinking Jace's blood.  Aldertree reveals that he suspects that the Lightwood family and Simon are Valentines spies and that if Simon doesn't admit it (even if he lies) he will be starved of blood. Simon meets Samuel, his prisoner friend, that reveals that he was part of Valentines circle back in the day. Jace finds out about Simon and goes to break him out but Simon tells him not to and asks him to just bring him blood so that Aldertree doesn't suspect anything. 

~Sebastian and Clary go to find Ragnar Fell but find Magnus instead. Magnus tells Clary to go to the Wayland manor and to find the spell book of white so that he can help wake Jocelyn. Sebastian and Clary kiss. (YUCKK)

~Clary and Jace go to the Wayland manor to get the book. There they find an angel that was tortured by Valentine. The angel shows them memories of what Valentine did and how he gave one of his children demon blood. And that Valentine also took angel blood and experimented on himself with it. The angel kills itself and the manor explodes. Jace saves Clary and they have a very heated moment but it ends in an argument. They walk back to the city only to find it burning, attacked by demons. 

~ Alec goes out to fight leaving Isabelle and Max with Sebastian and Sebastian ends up killing Max.

~ After the attack everyone gathers in the counsel hall and Clary gives Magnus the spell book. Luke's pack is together cause the Alicante wards are down. Jace, Alec and Clary go to save Simon. They find out that the person next to Simon is actually Hodge but before Hodge can tell them his secret, Sebastian kills him and reveals that he's a spy for Valentine. 

~Valentine shows up as a hologram but somehow kills inquisitor Aldertree. He offers a deal that all Nephilim must agree to follow him and he'll leave them alone but if they don't agree he'll attack. 

~Jace spends the night with Clary just sleeping and confesses his love for her. He leaves in the morning and tells Luke that he's going after Valentine and act as an inside man. He doesn't care what happens to himself cause he feels worthless because he thinks he has demon blood. Meanwhile Luke tries to convince the consul to let the downworlders help fight Valentine together. 

~Jocelyn shows up and Clary gets really angry at her.  Jocelyn explains to Clary everything that happened with Valentine. That Valentine gave Jocelyn demon blood (disguised as medication) when she was pregnant with Jonathan aka Sebastian. She eventually found out that Valentine was experimenting on other downworlders as well as demons because he was jealous of all of their (downworlders) abilities. But she still stayed with him planning to sabotage the uprising and because she was also pregnant with Clary. While she was pregnant with Clary (Valentine didn't know), so he use to give Jocelyn angel blood mixed in her food so that her depression from Jonathan could be cured. 

~She reveals that Valentine use to give draughts to Celine Herondale while she was pregnant as well cause her husband Stephan Herondale was best friends with Valentine at the time. When Stephan was killed, Celine killed herself (she was 8 months pregnant) but before her baby could die Hodge and Valentine cut the baby out of her womb and Valentine raised that child as a Wayland (Jace). Valentine actually killed Michael Wayland and his son in the Morgenstine house fire and brought up Jace and Jonathan in two different houses at the same time revealing that Sebastian and Clary are actually siblings. 

~Luke tells Clary that the clave agreed to let her mark them with the alliance (binding) rune so that the Nephilim and downworlders could fight together. 

~Raphael shows up as a hologram and tells Luke that the vampires will only join the alliance if they give up Simon. Simon goes to Raphael but first asks Clary to give him the Mark of Cain (that protects him somehow). Raphael agrees to the alliance on condition that Simon fights in the war as well. 

~Jace finds out the truth about how Sebastian is actually Valentines son. Sebastian also reveals Valentines plan about raising Angel Raziel so that he's granted a favor and that he's going to use that favor to strip all Shadowhunter's that haven't drank from the mortal cup be stripped from their Nephilim abilities. Jace kills Sebastian. 

~Clary hears of Valentines plan and goes through a portal to stop Valentine, ending up at Lake Lyn, she almost drowns again but Valentine saves her, planning to kill her to use her blood to summon the angel when Jace shows up in time and Valentine ends up actually killing Jace. Valentine raises the angel but because of his ill intentions, Valentine is killed and Clary gets the favor and she asks for Jace to be saved :) 

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 because we FINALLY got explanation for almost everything. I love how everything finally came together and that its finally revealed that Jace and Clary aren't siblings. I lowkey knew the entire time cause of previous spoilers and I absolutely love them together. I feel like the series could have ended here and I would be satisfied. Also JACE AND SIMON OMG!!! All of their interactions are GOLDEN. Hopefully the next books have more Jace and Alec cause we don't see much of their interactions and I love the whole parabati bond.
