Summary:

"Hello, Melody. What took you so long?" he asked me, smirking. I stared at him, my golden eyes boring into his sparkling, manipulating, green eyes.  

"Funny. I was about to ask the same thing." 

 He laughed the laugh that once made my heart melt. Now, it just created bars around my heart. He walked towards me, and I unsheathed my sword. He was now very close to me. He grabbed my free hand, and whispered into my ear. 

"Time's almost up." 

 I yanked my hand away, and just as I did, he unsheathed his midnight black sword, and put it near my scratched up neck. "I'll ask you one more time, Melody: Where is the prophecy hidden?"

Melody Richman is a Gifted human... but not just gifted. She's also Chosen. Chosen by the Spirit, Songbird, as her kind-of successor. And, just like every Chosen, she must be tested. Her test, is to keep the Prophecy hidden from a madman... she thinks.
