Sad Song-Sokeefe
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a long time. This is a song that I fell in love with the first time I heard it. It is such a beautiful song. I'm also going to start putting YouTube videos up top. Kotlc_nerd and kotlcsquad make great kotlc music videos. ⚠️Warning⚠️ Gets a little sad, with depictions of injury. Without further ado, I give you Sad Song by We The Kings and Elena Coats.
Keefe P.O.V.
You and I,
We're like fireworks and symphonies exploding in the sky.
With you, I'm alive.
Like all the missing pieces of my heart, they finally collide.
So stop time right here in the moonlight,
'Cause I don't ever wanna close my eyes.
Keefe looked over at Sophie. She was whirling and twirling about, swinging her knifes and daggers. She was battling against Vespera. She was covered in cuts and scratches, there was dirt all over her. Her hair had come undone. She looked beautiful.
Without you, I feel broke,
Like I'm half of a whole.
Without you, I've got no hand to hold.
Without you, I feel torn,
Like a sail in a storm.
Without you, I'm just a sad song.
I'm just a sad song.
Keefe knew he couldn't live without her. Sophie was his reason for living, his life. He and Sophie had started dating about 4 months ago, and it had been the best time of his life. He spun around, slashing at the attacking ogres.
Sophie P.O.V.
With you, I fall,
It's like I'm leaving all my past and silhouettes up on the wall.
With you, I'm a beautiful mess,
It's like we're standing hand and hand with all our fears up on the edge.
So stop time right here in the moonlight,
'Cause I don't ever wanna close my eyes.
Sophie looked over at Keefe. He was fighting off ogres. She still couldn't believe they were dating. She never believed he would love her, yet here they stood. She twirled around and slashed at Vespera, leaving a nasty gash on her face. They had captured Lady Gisela 4 months ago, and it had been hard on Keefe. She was still his mother, after all. She had been there for him during his struggle. He had helped her through countless hard times, so it was her turn to help him.
Without you, I feel broke,
Like I'm half of a whole.
Without you, I've got no hand to hold.
Without you, I feel torn,
Like a sail in a storm.
Without you, I'm just a sad song.
Sophie looked over to Keefe. He was having a harder time fighting off the ogres. She turned towards the ogres and dropped them with her inflicting. Keefe glanced over at her and smiled. All of a sudden, his face dropped. "FOSTER! LOOK OUT!" He shouted, sounding panicked. When she turned to help Keefe, she had forgotten about Vespera. She whipped around, but she was too late. Vespera thrust her knife into Sophie's stomach. Her gut wrenched, pain burning a course through her.
Keefe
You're the perfect melody,
The only harmony, I wanna hear.
You're my favorite part of me.
With you standing next to me,
I've got nothing to fear.
Keefe's mind narrowed. He fought like a whirlwind, stabbing every ogre that crossed his path. He had to get to Sophie, his Foster. She had to be okay. She just had to. When he reached her, she was crumpled on the ground, Vespera standing over her. "Goodbye, Moonlark." She grinned evilly and swiftly stepped away.
Keefe's vision tunneled. She did this. She hurt Foster. Keefe stepped toward her and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around. "You hurt her." With that, he stabbed her in the heart and left her. He ran back to Sophie, who was quickly bleeding out. The ogres fled the scene, seeing that Vespera, their leader, had fallen. It was over. They had won. But at what price?
Keefe leaned over Sophie, placing his head on his lap. He needed her. She couldn't die, not now, not when he needed her. She was his everything, his reason for even getting out of bed in the morning. She had to stay here with him. He pulled out his leaping crystal, changed the facet, and leapt them to the Healing Center.

Without you, I feel broke,

Without you, I feel torn,
Like a sail in a storm.
Without you, I'm just a sad song.
Keefe looked over at the cot next to him. Sophie had been laying here for a week now. Elwin had been doing everything he could to keep her breathing. She was holding on, but barely. As Elwin had put it, "She kept fighting, and she wasn't ready to give up yet". To which Keefe had responded, "That's Foster. Always fighting, never giving up." He hadn't left the Healing Center. Edaline had suggested going to Havenfield, where he had been staying, to shower, but Keefe had refused to leave, and instead showered at the Healing Center. He had to be there, in case she woke up. Which she had to. She couldn't leave. He needed her. He gingerly grabbed her hand and held it tight, kissing her on the knuckles.
Without you, I feel broke,
Like I'm half of a whole.
Without you, I've got no hand to hold.
Keefe's eyes began to water. What if she never came back? He thought, but he quickly squashed that thought.
Without you, I feel torn,
Like a sail in a storm.
Sophie's chest slowly moved up and down, the only sign she was still living.
Without you, I'm just a sad song.
As Keefe sat, watching Sophie, waiting for something to happen, something happened. Her eyes fluttered, and she slowly gasped, like she had been submerged under water. She slowly opened her eyes, and smiled when she saw Keefe sitting there.
I'm just a sad song.
Keefe threw his arms around her and held her tight, kissing her. "Never leave me again, Foster." He whispered.
"Never again." She promised.
