You guys wanted an update. Here it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And I think I want to end it here, actually. We'll see.

Adrien whipped around, his wide eyes met her bluebell hues, and his breath hitched.
No way.
"Marinette?" She sent him a nervous smile first, and held out a heart shaped letter out to him. "What--"
"Read it," she whispered shakily, ducking her head down shyly, "...please."
He swallowed, and took the letter carefully, and opened it, eyes scanning the words.
🐞✉️🐞
Your hair shines like the sun,
your eyes are gorgeous green,
I look at you and wonder your innermost thoughts and dreams.
Yes, your Valentine I will be,
our love will be so true,
together for eternity,
my heart belongs to you.
Just like I have always told you in my previous letters,
I can only hope for the your answer
will be one for the better.
Entirely yours,
Ladybug

He chuckled, shaking his head, "All this time it was you..." he looked up, meeting her eyes, and she looked away quickly, embarrassed. "You responded to my poem," he shuffled a bit closer as she fidgeted nervously, "I threw it away?"
"I, uh," she rubbed the back of her neck, "w-was really curious...saw y-you throw it away and..." she trailed off, "I probably seem like a crazy stalker now."
"No!" He rushed out, shaking his head, and brought his hands to her shoulders, making Marinette's eyes grow wide and a blush bloom on her cheeks. "It's you," he reassured, "and I couldn't ask for anything more." He smiled, looking into her shining eyes.
Ah, yes. This was the exact lighting as last time, he could tell.
His smile dropped, "I'm sorry," he started, "that I forgot you, Marinette."
Marinette shook her head, "When you left for the important shoot two years ago, my family had to take a trip to China, my grandfather was sick, and unfortunately passed away six months later. I was gone for a whole year, I had to do the online classes so I could stay caught up." She took in a deep breath, having not breathed at all in her explanation. "It's why I forgave you, because it wasn't your fault. It was no one's fault."
"But I forgot about you," he pushed, "as if your existence was something so minuscule as to be so easy to forget." He sighed, frustrated, clenching his fist and looking away from her, "I should be the one who isn't worth it. Why do you--"
"Why do I love you?" She interrupted, her face blank. "After all these letters, and you're asking me why I love you."
Adrien's mouth clamped shut, not expecting such a reaction from her. Then again, she always surprises him, always unpredictable.
"If you feel so guilty," she grabbed his free hand, bringing it up and setting the handle of it in his hand and curling his fingers around it. She grinned up at him, "then make up to me."
He felt like he was going to cry again, but the tears wouldn't fall. He gripped the umbrella tightly, leaning forward, surprising Marinette, and reTes his forehead against hers.
They simply gazed in to each other's eyes, silent, observing, waiting, before Adrien finally whispered, "Only if you'll let me."
Marinette let out that tinkling giggle, and he loved the way her eyes crinkled at the ends, and he noticed the freckles sprinkled across her nose, making a note to count them later on, before a serene smile settled its way on her lips, "Of course I will."
"Marinette?"
"Yes, Adrien?"
"Will you give me the upmost pleasure and call you mine?"
He enjoyed the way the blush flooded her cheeks once again, but she didn't dare look away, and even when he knew what she would say, he still held his breath for her answer.
Her eyes fluttered closed, and he felt a hand cover his, still holding her letter.
"I would love to."
