8~Owl Attacks at Breakfast

Harry

I woke up to Ron shaking my shoulders. "Harry! Harry, get up! We're gonna be late!"

I sat up groggily. Someone had taken off my glasses in the middle of the night and I had sneaky suspicion who it was... A certain red haired girl...I reached out to my bed stand and took my glasses, putting it on my nose so that the blurred faces in front of me came into focus.

Neville, Seamus and Dean were already down at breakfast and Ron was now attempting to wake up Percy without much success.

"Mate, wake up! Yo, Perce!" Ron said shaking his shoulders.

"Five more minutes mom?" Percy groaned rolling over onto his face.

"I'm not your mom! I'm Ron, wake up!" Ron said.

"Bue-" Percy snored loudly. "Blue cookies...yum..."

"Mate, you gotta get up now."

"Ponys and unicorns. Oooh, and Pegasi and Hippocampi!" Percy said with a dreamy smile on his face.

I snickered as Ron looked at me worriedly.

"Mate, stop it."

"Beth, I don't like that seaweed, it won't go well with my Little Mermaid costume." Percy muttered.

"Harry, is he alright?" Ron asked me, giving up all hope of waking him up.

"I'm gonna wear my Nemo costume for Halloween, Annie. The dolphins told me that they wanted an autograph and picture of me so that they could stick it on their under water houses. But I refused. I don't know why Annie- ohhh! Look a pony! Chiron turned into a pony..." Percy said before rolling up into a ball and sucking his thumb like a baby and going back to a peaceful sleep.

"You know, you won't be able to wake him up without Annabeth or me." Thalia said leaning against the door way, holding up a muggle phone as if she was recording something. She put her phone away in her robe pockets and walked up to Percy. She poked him on his arm and Percy sat up bolt upright and shouted, "Why did you zap me, Thals! You were ruining my dream about ponies and stuff. Thalia, Chiron got turned into a pink my little pony! And-" Percy stopped abruptly. The reason for that? Thalia had fished out her phone and was playing the video with a smirk on her face. Percy looked aghast and when the video finished he turned to us. "Tell me you didn't see that!"

"Sorry to break it to you mate, but, we did." Ron answered while I just nodded.

Percy groaned and burrowed his head in his hands. "Thalia, I want blue flowers on my coffin and tell my mum that I love her and tell Annabeth that I'm sorry, now where is Riptide?"

"It's in your pocket Kelp Head but don't go into the trouble, I'll be more than happy to kill you with my bow and arrow." Thalia offered, putting her phone back in her pocket.

"Do you know who else is gonna die?" Annabeth asked now appearing at the door, her hands on either side of the door frame. She was completely dressed with her robes like Thalia. Percy and Thalia looked up to her.

"Us, if we don't hurry up." Annabeth said before tuning and running down the stairs followed by Thalia, Ron and I - and a Percy with his robes the other way around in his rush to get ready - scrambling down the stairs.

"Whoa! Why is there a flock of owls flying into the great hall?" Percy asked.

"They're here to deliver letters and parcels from friends and family." Hermione explained, filling her plate with bread and scrambled eggs.

"Oh." Percy said in a small voice. "Well, I don't really fancy owls, that's Annabeth and WHY IS THERE A WHOLE FLOCK FLYING DOWN AT ME!?" Percy said, shouting the last part. Sure enough, a whole flock of owl were flying straight down.

They started pulling on Percy's hair and scratching at his robes but left everyone else alone. By now, the whole school was watching Percy struggling with the owls. Annabeth and Thalia were bursting with laughter but finally Annabeth regained her posture and said, "That's enough guys!" But I swear I heard her add, "mum, you are way too overprotective." The owls obediently stopped clawing at Percy, dropped around ten letters and flew away.

Percy sighed in relief and fixed up his robes. Fortunately he wasn't hurt at all and his clothes weren't torn or anything, the owls were only trying to annoy him. I know, ridiculous. The hall was again filled with voices and loud conversations as everyone came out of their shock.

"Man, open up your letters!" Ron said. Percy, Annabeth and Thalia picked up the letters that were all addressed to the three of them and read it in their head.

They stared at the letters for a few minutes.

"Well, who's it from" Ron asked.

"It's from our friends...I think. Beth, does yours say Pipe Cleaner or Piper McLean?" Percy asked.

"It's Piper, Percy!" Annabeth said.

"Alright, Alright. Just making sure." Percy said.

"We'll read them later. If we try to do it now, we'll be here the whole day." Thalia said, collecting up the letters from the table and shoving them down her bag as Professor McGonagall walked around the Gryffindor table handing out time tables; she reached us and gave us each a timetable.

Percy squinted at his timetable as if trying to make out what it said.

"Uh, that says Defence Against the Dorky Arts with Humpty Dumpty, right?" Percy asked us.

"No, you have Defence Against the Dark Arts first with Hufflepuff." Ginny said, taking a better look at his timetable.

"Oh right, uh...I knew that." Percy said, going red in the face. "Let's go then." He said, marching off in the wrong direction.

Ginny laughed and stopped him. "You're going the wrong way, silly."

"Well, I knew that too." Percy said before following Ron, Ginny, Hermione, Annabeth and Thalia, who were all laughing at Percy's antics, towards the DADA room. I followed them, fuming. First I find out that he's a Death Eater and then he tries to steal my girlfriend.

(A/N Don't worry I'm not killing Percabeth or Hinny(is that what they're called? just a cause for a fight plus, harry doesn't know that there is Percabeth already and the fact that they're inseperable and the fact that I WILL NEVER BREAK PERCABETH AND IF RICK RIORDON DOES I WILL ACTUALLY VISIT HIM AND PUNCH HIS FACE BUT LEAVE HIS HANDS AND EYES ALL FINE SO THAT HE CAN CONTINUE WRITTING. So, on that note...back to the story...)

We entered the DADA classroom to find a new teacher sitting at the teacher's desk at the front. The tables and chairs were all pushed up against the walls and there were three crates at the foot of the table. This giving me hope that this teacher will actually do practical work with us.

The teacher in question was hardly an adult. She looked to be the same age as me, actually. She was buff and quite tall and had stringy brown hair tied in a pony tail. She looked fierce and like a warrior and something told me not to get on the bad side of her.

"Clarisse!?" Percy said in disbelief, directing the question to the teacher.

"That's Professor La Rue for you, Jackson!" The professor called back across the room and it just stuck me that Percy had never introduced himself to her.

Percy grinned as Annabeth asked, "What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like? Teaching. Now, take seat on the floor everyone!" She called out to the class as the last person entered, closing the door behind them. Professor LaRue stood up from her chair, walked around the table and sat on it with one foot balanced on her knee and with her arms folded across her chest.

"Now, my name is Professor LaRue and I'll be-" she started but was cut off by Percy saying, "Her name is Clarrise, people."

"Jackson, keep in mind that I can now give you detention." Professor LaRue said.

"Yeah sure. I'd like that. How's camp?" Percy said.

"Camps fine now shut it, punk!" She said, then turned around to face the rest of her class.

"Chris? How're are you two getting al-" Percy asked but Clarrise cut it off by saying while blushing, "Jackson, shut the hades up!" Thunder grumbled rather loudly - and I was pretty sure that today was a perfectly cloudless day - but Clarrise ignored it.

"Everyone, put your wands away." Clarrise said to the class.

All those who had taken them out groaned and put them back. The last time we heads that sentence, the classes didn't go all too well.

"Now, Kelp Head, Annabeth and Thalia come out the front." Clarisse ordered. The three of them gladly got up and stood at the front of the class next to Clarisse.

"The rest of you, split into three groups and sit back down." Professor LaRue told us. There was a scramble of students trying to get into groups with their friends then, again, there was silence as the class waited for further instructions, curious as to what they would be doing.

"Right, Percy," Professor LaRue said, picking up one of the crates on the floor and giving it to Percy whose knees buckled underneath the sudden weight. "Go stand next to that group over there." Clarisse said, pointing at the group Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville, Seamus, Dean and I were in. Percy walked over to us and put the crate down by his feet. Taking a better look at the crate I noticed that it was labeled in a different language.

σπαθιά were written neatly on the side of the crate.

Clarrise gave a crate each to both Thalia and Annabetha no directed them to their allocated groups.

"Okay punks, listen up. Now, these people standing in front of you are going to be my assistants and your sub teachers. You will listen to them and do as they say or face certain consequences. After 20 minutes you will rotate on to the next person. Now, Annabeth, Percy and Thalia, I presume that you know what to do?" Clarisse asked.

"Sure do." Thalia answered grinning maniacally.

"Good, now let's get started."
