7~A Dam Conversation

Harry

All I wanted to do right now was to throttle Percy. He'd been a Death Eater. I was sure of it. The mark was clearly a snake. Why don't the others get my point? He was one of those people who helped Voldemort kill all those innocent people. My parents, Lupin, Sirius, Tonks, Dumbledore, Snape and so many others. Throughout the whole meal, I didn't talk one bit. I didn't trust my self to speak. I thought I'll probably shout at everyone so I just kept quiet. Ginny tried talking to me and the others tried to include me in their conversation, even Percy, but I would only just glare at him. But honestly, the guy was hard to hate. He was really funny easy to be around with and I had to restrain myself from smiling at the jokes he made and how he, Thalia and Annabeth got along so well with the others, as if they'd known each other since forever.

Now we were just outside Gryffindor Tower, right in front of the fat lady's portrait.

"Password?" She asked. She seemed to be in a bad mood.

I just realised that I didn't have any clue what the password was. Ginny, Ron, Hermione and I had been showing Thalia, Annabeth and Percy around. Just the basic places: the great hall which they already knew, We showed them where Hagrid lived though we didn't go in there just yet, where the hospital wing and such were and the quid ditch pitch. I really didn't want to go but Ginny pulled me along.

Now we were stuck outside the Gryffindor Tower, unable to get in.

"Great!" Ron exclaimed. "Do any of you know the password? Me and Hermione forgot to go to the meeting where they tell us the passwords."

We all shook our heads.

"Chocolate Frogs." I said to the fat lady.

"No. Sorry." She said back.

"Fine, umm...Every Flavor Beans." Said Hermione.

"Nope."

"Oh, just open will you!? You know we're in Gryffindor!" Ron said exasperated now.

"No."

"Ugh! Bloody Hell!" Ron said loudly. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Annabeth and Percy grimace as if recalling something unpleasant.

"Wait, let me try." Percy said. I scoffed in my mind but stayed quiet on the outside.

"Anoichtò" Percy said.

"Correct!" The fat lady said and swung the portrait door open.

We climbed in after a moment of shocked silence. The door swung closed behind us as we walked in and took the armchairs by the fire. Annabeth, Percy and Thalia immediately took a spot on the carpeted floor while Ginny, Ron, Hermione and I hesitantly took our usual chairs by the fire.

"Looks like your head isn't so full of seaweed after all, Kelp Head." Thalia said, grinning at Percy.

"I can be smart if I want to Pinecorn Face." Percy told Thalia sticking his tongue out immaturely.

"How did you guess the password right?" Hermione asked curiously.

"Ugh, well...Anoichtò means 'open' in greek so I just guessed." Percy answered.

"Where'd you learn Greek from mate?" Ron asked him, just as curiously as Hermione did.

"Well, we three go to this summer camp and you have to learn how to speak Greek. It's compulsory." Annabeth explained.

"You go to a camp?" Ginny asked them.

"Yeah, it's a summer camp." Thalia answered her.

"So you won't be with your family at all?" Hermione asked incredulously.

"Well, we can go out of the camp whenever we like. You know, to visit our parents and stuff. And sometimes," Percy paused, seizing the chance to grin at Annabeth and Thalia. ",and sometimes, our parents decide to make some godly visits."

"Godly visits? Funny way to put it but...okay?" Ron said.

Percy Annabeth and Thalia burst out laughing.

"Damn Percy! That was good." Thalia said. (A/N I know, that want really funny but I just wanted to get the 'Damn' into their conversation.... ;) )

Thalia stopped laughing and said, "Dam snack bar!"

Annabeth stopped laughing and just looked confused.

"No, no, no. Thalia," Percy said, trying to put on a polka face but failing miserably. "I need to buy a dam t-shirt." Then he turned to us and asked, "Guys, do you have some money I could burrow to get a dam shirt?"

Now, I was starting to think whether these guys were actually really crazy.

"Gods, I can't believe that Zoë never got that jo-" Thalia started but then stopped when she realised what's he said. Annabeth and Percy stopped laughing abruptly. Annabeth went over and gave Thalia a hug which she returned gladly and gratefully.

"Who's Zoe?" Ron asked.

"She-she was- I guess you could say that she was one of my sisters." Thalia said, her voice quaking a little.

"She was?" Ron said picking up her use of words. Hermione kicked his shin for that and he shot her a what did I do look.

"She- she died." Thalia said.

"She died a hero." Percy whispered.

There was a moment of awkward silence after which Thalia announced that she was a bit sleepy and went up to the girl's dormitory with Hermione's directions.

After a while, we all started to slowly go back to our dormitories. I was on the top most stair that would lead to the boys dormitory when I heard voices carried up to where I was standing by the wind that was blowing through the open windows. Percy and Annabeth were still down there.

"Percy? What if- what if one of us have a flashback again?"

"Don't worry Beth, I'll come to you if it does, alright? You get some sleep now."

"Good night, Seaweed Brain."

"'Night Annabeth."

I heard Percy's footsteps coming closer to the staircase I was standing on so I quickly went inside and flung myself onto the bed, drawing the covers closed around me.

I heard the door open and heard Percy's footsteps come closer. He passed my bed and chose the only empty bed, the one next to mine.

I pretended to be asleep but I really couldn't. Instead I listened. On the bed to my left, Ron was snoring away, loudly, obviously fast asleep. I could hear Neville, Seamus and Dean all snoring softly as well. But on the bed to my right, Percy either wasn't asleep yet or he was having a bad night. He kept rolling around causing the bed to creak softly. He was feeling restless, I was sure. A couple of times I heard him mutter things I couldn't make out, though the words, "Annabeth", 'Gaia', 'no' and 'Tartarus' were heard numerous time, distinctively clear.

He was probably having a nightmare. I rolled on my bed into a more comfortable position and closed my eyes willing for sleep to overcome me. And eventually it did. I fell into a deep and comforting sleep.
