17~Zeus Really is Out To Get Me

Percy

"Where is she?" I asked no one in particular, growing rather impatient.

"She's still in her dormitory." Ginny said, walking down the steps leading to the Girls Dormitory.

"Alright then. I'll just go there of she doesn't come here." I said preparing to go up the steps.

"Uh, I wouldn't advise that. You see, when a boy tries to climb those steps-" Ginny started but it was too late, I had made the epic mistake.

I was on the fifth step when there was a rumbling noise and the steps turned in to slide and I crashed down and slid back down to square one.

"What the Hades!" I shouted.

"-That happens." Ginny finished her previous statement.

"Ugh!" I groaned.

"I'll go up and tell her to come down quickly if you want me to." Ginny volunteered.

"Okay, thanks." I said.

Five minutes later they still weren't down. If they don't get back down, like now, we all are going to be late for break fast.

"We'll find it later, Annabeth. Percy's waiting for you." Ginny's voice floated down.

"Oh, I can't! I spent so much time on that design and- ugh! Fine, I'll come down." Annabeth gave up and came down the stairs with Thalia, Ginny and Hermione.

"There you are Beth!" I exclaimed and pulled her in for a brief hug.

"Hey, Percy." Annabeth said moodily.

"Hey, Wise Girl, I meant to give this to you. You left it in the common room yesterday." I said as I pulled out the parchment with the temple drawing.

"Oh, thank you Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth said happily. "But don't think this changed anything. I'm still killing you."

"Oh come on! It's Saturday!" I exclaimed. "I can't die on Saturday!"

"Oh yes you can." Annabeth said. "Now come one, let's go to breakfast."

***

"That's bad." Thalia concluded. We'd finished eating breakfast and had excused ourselves from the table to go outside.

"We have to be super careful now. Hermione will be looking for ways to prove she's right and trust me, she is one smart girl and can come up with plans that are worthy of Athena." Annabeth said.

"Gods of Olympus." I said. "Hiding the fact that we are demigods just got harder."

"Hey Guys!" Someone exclaimed from behind us.

"Oh, uh. Hi, Ginny, Ron, Harry." I said awkwardly, spinning around "Where's Hermione?"

"Oh, she went to the Library." Ginny said.

"Oh." I squeaked weakly, sparing a worried glance at Annabeth and Thalia.

"Hey, we just found out that we're allowed to go to Hogsmede tomorrow." Harry said.

"Would you like to come with us?" Ginny asked. "It's this wizarding village with all these cool shops and stuff but the thing is you have to have a parent or guardian's permission so if you want to go you'll have to write a letter to them today."

"Oh, okay. We'll do that later." I said.

"Alright then." Ron said. "What are you going to do now?"

"I dunno." Thalia said nonchalantly. "Just walk around I guess. There's nothing to do really."

"Hey, tell you what. You can come and practise Quidditch with us!" Ron said suddenly.

"Yeah! Good idea!" Ginny agreed. "We'll show you how to play the most famous wizarding sport! How it fly broomsticks! And if you're really good, you can try out for the team!" She said dragging us to this huge ground with three hoops on either end.

"Flying broomsticks?" Thalia and I squeaked faintly.

***

When you are the son of Poseidon or when you are scared of heights my advise is don't ride on flying broomsticks. But if you have blonde hair, grey eyes, and is a daughter of Athena with no problem with heights, go for it! You'll do great! You'll be flying around every where, shooting goals all the time!

But as I said before, if you have a problem with heights and/or is a son of Poseidon, don't go for it. All you'll be doing is hovering ten feet off the ground with your eyes closed, holding on to your broom like your life depended on it.

"Come on, you two!" Annabeth shouted from the other end of the pitch. "It's not bad! It's actually really fun!"

She came whizzing towards us and missed us by inches. I swear she was a natural. She swerved to avoid this attacking ball called a Bludger and got the Quaffel from Ron. Harry, Ron and I were versing Ginny, Annabeth and Thalia. There weren't any Sneakers this round. Was it Sneakers or Seekers? No, I'm pretty sure it's Sneakers. The aim of this small round is to get as many goals as you can.

Luckily there wasn't a crowd to witness mine and Thalia's epic failure.

Zeus didn't seem all that happy about Thalia not playing so there was a massive wind just below Thalia that was trying to push her up.

And me? He was trying to knock me off my broom. That's why I was hovering ten feet off the ground. Zeus won't let me go down or up. He was knocking me all over the place. I ask you, is this the way to reward the Saviour of Olympus? Right now, I was dangling upside down from the broom from my feet. Really not funny. I come out of an airplane alive but I'm on the verge of death when I decide to ride a broomstick. The gods are cruel.

And just when I managed to get atop the broomstick again, it decided to fly off from beneath my feet.

"Ahh!" I screamed in surprise as I fell to the ground.

"Ouch! That would've hurt." Hermione said now taking a seat at the stands with a ginormous book in her hands.

"It did." I said, getting up, abandoning any hope of ever playing Quidditch and walking over to the stands.

"What are you reading?" I asked her.

"Oh, it's called-" she was interrupted by an ear splitting scream coming from inside the castle.

Everyone froze. A few seconds later there was an announcement echoing throughout the whole school.

"All students are to go to their houses." It was Professor McGonagall. "I repeat. All students to their houses immediately. Prefects, you are to make sure everyone is inside their tower. No one is to step a foot outside."
