13~Prophecies in the Middel of Divination
Percy
"Welcome! Welcome to another year of Divination. The wondrous art of unveiling the future." A mystical voice drawled from the shadows as we took our seats in the rusty old attic. Seconds later a woman to whom the voice belonged to appeared from behind a curtain wearing huge glasses and what seemed like hundreds of shawls.
"And I see that joining us are some new students. May I have your names?" She asked maintaining her mystical voice.
Just as I was about to tell her my name she put a hand up in a gesture that unmistakably said No. Don't tell me.
"No, no, that won't be necessary." She said. "I have looked into the crystal ball and have seen this coming. Your names are Perseus Jackson, Annabeth Chase and Thalia Grace, is it not?"
Of course she would know our names since she was at the sorting ceremony.
"Yes it is, though I would prefer it if you called me Percy." I said.
"Of course. Of course. My name is Professor Trelawny." She said, still in that strange mystical voice. "Today, we will be starting off with tea leves then we shall move on to a bit of crystal gazing.
She distributed a bunch of cups and instructed us to get into pairs and drink the tea inside. I was paired up with Annabeth of course. We drowned our cups quickly and looked at the bottom where the tea leaves had gathered. We then tried matching it up with what our text books said with no success all the time with Annabeth muttering about how stupid this was.
Professor Trelawny was walking around and stopped by our table, snatching away my cup to examine it. She gave out a small gasp after a few seconds.
"My dear! This is so tragic!" She exclaimed then continued before I could even open my mouth. "You are to drown in the Pacific Ocean as you sail across it in a few months!"
Next to me, Annabeth snickered and from across us where Thalia and Ginny were working together, I glimpsed Thalia smirking.
"Okay, sure." I said, dismissively.
"There is also something else." Professor Trelawny said. "I can see a fish next to an olive tree."
"A fish next to an olive tree? What's that supposed to mean?" Annabeth asked although her eyes told that she knew exactly what it meant.
Deciding to ignore Annabeth Professor Trelawny continued. "A chain connecting them. Bonded for life." This caused Thalia to snicker again. Now I was pretty sure that Aphrodite is behind all this...
"Wait! There's more." The Professor said, "I see that you are to die at the hands of the daughter of the sky and the daughter of an...owl?" She said uncertainly.
Yep, definitely Aphrodite trying to cook up a tragic love story.
I couldn't help but start laughing. "A daughter of an owl!" I said in between breaths.
"Shut up, seaweed Brain!" Annabeth said, kicking my shin under the table causing me to yelp from the unexpected blow. At that, Annabeth only smile sweetly, "Well, at least you get to die at the hands of Thalia and I." She said with a grin.

"We will be gazing at crystal balls now." Professor Trelawny announced ten minutes into the period.
Professor Trelawny started walking around and handing each of a crystal ball. When she reached me, she stopped, the crystal ball she was about to place on my desk hovering inches above.
"Perseus Jackson? Son of the sea?" She said quietly then her eyes turned green and the crystal she was holding dropped to the floor and shattered, spilling its smoky blue contents. She opened her mouth and spoke in a raspy voice.
"You shall go west and face the god who has turned,"
Images flashed through my head as fast as lightning. I saw Ares handing me that backpack, I saw the lotus Casino, the fight with Ares on that beach...
"You shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned,"
I saw the lightning bolt, the electric spherical cylinder.
"You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend,"
I saw Luke and I in the woods, the pit scorpion lunging at me.
"And you shall fail to save what matters most in the end."
I saw my mum, frozen, in a bubble in hades's realm.
Professor Trelawny took a shuddering breath and her eyes momentarily turned normal before regaining the greenish colour it had taken minutes ago. She opened her mouth and spoke again in that same rasping voice.
"You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone,
You shall find what you seek and make it your own,
But despair for your life entombed within stone,
And fail without friends, to fly home alone"
The images were flashing by quicker. I saw the ship we sailed in, Clarisse ordering the skeletal army, the Golden Fleece, Annabeth laying there motionless the fleece draped over her, the Cyclope's lair, Grover in a wedding dress, the fleece draped over a branch in Thalia's Pine and Thalia herself waking up after years.
Professor Trelawny took another breath and continued.
"Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand."
Zoe, Bianca, Artemis, Annabeth, Dr Thorn, Nico, Atlas, holding up the sky. All these things flashed before my eyes faster than ever.
This time without even waiting to catch her breath Professor Trelawny went on.
"You shall delve into the darkness of the endless maze,
The dead, the traitor and the lost one raise,
You shall rise or fall by the ghost king's hand,
The child of Athena's final stand,
Destroy with a hero's final breath,
And loose a love to worse than death."
The Labyrinth, Ethan, Pan, Daedalus, Luke, Kronos, Rachel hitting The Lord of time with a blue hairbrush, Annabeth and I standing on Half Blood Hill and Hera.
"A half blood of the eldest gods,
Shall reach sixteen against all odds,
And see the world in endless sleep,
A hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap,
A single choice shall end his days,
Olympus to preserve or raze."
Manhattan unusually silent, Ethan driving the knife into Annabeth's shoulder, me giving the knife to Luke, Luke stabbing himself, The gods awarding us and a bubble at the bottom of the lake.
"Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall,
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the doors of death."
Then it all came back to me. The latest war, Annabeth and I falling, Tartarus, the Giant War, Gaia, Jason, Leo, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Annabeth and I, the Argo II, Festus, Bob and Damasen, Greece, Camp Jupiter, Ella and Tyson, everything. Then as soon as it had come, the images faded away into nothingness.
Professor Trelawny collapsed onto the floor. Someone gripped my hand from under the table and the world came back into focus. Everyone was looking at us. Ron's mouth was agape, so was Ginny's but Harry looked disoriented. Then it struck me. Everything I had just seen, he had also watched.
Professor Trelawny slowly got back to her feet and smiled as if nothing unusual had happened. She looked at the floor where the glass ball had shattered.
"Oh dear, this won't do. Reparo." She said as she took out her wand and cleaned the mess, putting the now fixed glass ball on my desk. She continued handing out crystal balls to the rest of the class, unaware of the fact that she had sprouted out every prophecy that related to me.
"Now, on with the lesson..." She said, facing us and clapping her hands together once as she finished handing out the last of the crystal balls.
