So,
I'm a particularly, eh, how would you put it... HARDCORE shipper - even more hardcore when it comes to my OTPs. If you read my profile description, you'll see a list of all my ships, my favourites being at the top. And at the veeery top, there's Soriel. Yes, let the "OMG U OTP SORIEL
THATS SIN" comments flow. Now this is one of the most popular ships, next to Frans (ech) and... I dunno, Papyton or something? Most of the Frans shippers hate Soriel, and I can respect that. Nonetheless, why can't the shippers live in peace and harmony? Right now, it's all like, "oh no, even though we've been besties for eternity, you don't ship my OTP, so we're officially mortal enemies."

But can't we respect other's ships? Sure, it might interfere with yours, but that doesn't mean you should dislike your friend. Hate the ship, not the person.

But you still hate Soriel. Okay. I'm simply going to point out some common defensive remarks.

What if Toriel still loves Asgore?
Okay, I'm going to put this in perspective.

You're a woman, happily married and you have a beautiful son. You recently adopted another child of a different race. Then they both die in a night. Not only are you struck with grief, your husband isn't just crying. He's killing to avenge them, or so he says. To make matters worse, this is a universe where killing will literally make you NOT FEEL FEELINGS, ALLOWING YOU TO KILL EVEN MORE.
Oh yeah, he's not killing just any kind of human, he's killing INNOCENT CHILDREN. What would you do? Probably leave him. Would you ever look back and say, 'I should have stayed?' NOPE.

But Sans took Frisk on a date!
Yeah, as friends. Did he ever say "date" when he asked us? No. I believe his exact words were;
"hey, i heard you're going to the core. how about grabbing some dinner with me first?"
Also, he only talks about the woman behind the door the whole time. Would you talk about another woman on a date? And who, tell me, is the famed woman behind the door?

Some other things I should point out:

-You have the option to look at Toriel's diary. And the first page is a skeleton joke. The rest of the pages are filled with jokes of the same caliber.

-During the Papyrus date, Papyrus informs you that Sans tried to make a quiche, but with sweet stuff? I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot like a pie. And who specializes in pies?

- Right before the Asriel Dreemurr battle, everyone meets, including Sans and Toriel. When they meet, they talk to each other and stuff, but after, Sans is looking at her like some schoolboy with a crush. He's still looking at her even when Undyne and Alphys almost kiss!

So yeah,
There's my rant. If you're still against me, I honestly don't care. Just don't hate me for shipping. If you see some flaws in my explanation, let me know. I'll fix it if I can. M'kay. See ya.
