In her journey of discovery, Edith has to learn how to balance out her personal life from her duties to her family and friends, showcasing a tale of growing up and learning who you really are.

Edith Shepley, is the main protagonist of this story, and is quite often seen as unladylike due to her many 'unladylike' qualities. From gardening to breeding sheep, Edith is nothing like most women her age. Her character offers a fresh dose to the tried and tested, noblewoman, and her outspoken opinions often provides us with an insight to who Edith really is. Funny and lovable, Edith is a well-crafted character who will win the hearts of readers alike.

Like the book's title, the story is about Edith finding her purpose in life, a theme that transcends time throughout the ages. It explores the emotions of discovering who you really are, while still trying to maintain the balance of familial life and maintaining your duties - a balance that most people are still learning to find even today.
