Page 1 scene 23.

House of cards final scene.

Opens in Hospital room with doctor nurse and Underwood as patient in bed.

Frank Underwood slowly wakes from the coma in his hospital bed.

"Mr Underwood how are you feeling?"

Asked the excited young doctor shining a light in his eyes.

"Fine son if you stop blinding me with that light and it's President Underwood. Mr President will do fine."

"You think your the President?"

The Doctor asked puzzled.

"Of course and there's my charming First Lady."

He pointed to the TV on mute in the corner of the room.

The doctor looked up  at the woman attending an award ceremony on the TV.

"That's Robin Wright the actress from Princess bride you think she's your wife?"

"I don't thing nothing of the sort Doctor.  I know.  Now would you be so kind and get Doug down here pronto."

"Doug?  What's the last thing you remember Mr  Un..I mean President."

Underwood sighs.

"In the Oval Office about to sign the new confederate states bill."

"You don't remember five years ago walking your dog and been hit by a hit and run. Weirdly your dog died of suffocation but you ended up in a coma."

Anger flashed in Underwood eyes.

"A Coma that's nuts! I'm the president. That's my wife! I won the 2016 election!"

The doctor whispered to his nurse she quickly exits the room.

"Your a school teacher Mr Underwood. Your ex wife is now Mrs Zoe Barnes and Donald Trump won the 2016 election."

Underwood face drains as realisation enters his mind.

He turns slowly to the camera and says.

"You voted Trump into power and I thought I was the sadistic one."

The nurse returns to the room holding a stray jacket.

"Is that for me?" Underwood sighs.

"No Frank." Smiled Robin white from the TV. 

"It's for them."

She looks directly into the camera at us.

Camera pans out and reveals nurse doctor and Underwood stirring coldly at us all.

Fade

To

Black.
