TALE OF THE PIRATES GOLDEN SON

Tale of the pirates golden son.*

One pistol, one shot, one hand.

Abandoned on a deserted island.

Captain skip Ladd

was slowly going mad

A whole year in a sea cave

In time he knew to be his grave

Strange irony

his gold stacked to the roof

shining bright like the sun

He'd give it all

To the last ounce

to glance

once more upon his son

A mad plan consumed his brain

To see his son again

By trade he was once a smithy

truth be told

He will melt and mould

His son out of his gold

He honed his craft night and day

Week turn month

Month to year

Year to decade

Until mad will

Combined with dedicated one hand  skill

Produced a boy of gold metal

His son down to the very last freckle

Contentment filled his heart ache

He would greet his son as he did wake

By the end of light

Gave a kiss goodnight

Until one mid summers morning

He spied a tall ship off shore mooring

His heart jumped for joy

Then a frightening thought about his golden boy

Fool you know what gold does to men's hearts

They will steal your boy smelt him into parts

Then he heard the yells of man

As the landing party towards him ran

He fired his pistol hitting their captain dead in the face

Turned and fled to the cave

and gave

His golden son one last tearful embrace

With a slow count to three

He plunged them both into the lapping deep sea

All that day

The sailors found not one trace of the mad castaway

That night by their dying captain

they all did gather

His mad obsession had falter

Searching

for his lost father

Soon the dutiful son

will lie dead

and cold.

The price of a pirates son

For having

a heart of gold.
