I hold no one closer than him.
As I close my eyes just as they start to water.

Seeing him in a swing waiting for me.
He was facing the setting sun in the distance.

I try to move to the swing but my feet are stuck.
He tells me  "You cannot join me on the swing yet.

One day you can sit next to me and watch the sun.
For now, you go and live your life without fear.

For you cannot turn something down before you try it."
Those words live with me.

As if he was here next to me.
Saying them every time I wake up.

One day I can join him on that swing.
Looking at the sunset in the distance.

But for now, I hold no one closer than Him.
