Lauren and Laxus have been dating since they were eighteen when Laxus finally found the courage to ask her out, now they are twenty three, and Laxus - although he loves her more than anything in the world - hasn't said I love you, when Lauren first said it a year and a half after they started dating. Laxus wants to say it, but he can't find the courage since he has made his image out to be someone that doesn't care about anyone or anything, that includes his grandfather - who he loves dearly.

"Morning Laxus." Lauren said smiling to hey boyfriend. Lauren recently walked into the guild hall for the day, the two don't live together, although Laxus wants to get a house for the two of them so she can the first thing he sees in the morning and the last before going to sleep, and so that he can hold her close to him.

"Hey Lauren." Laxus smiled.

"What are we doing today?" Lauren pecked her boyfriend's cheek and sat next to him.

"I don't know, thinking about taking a job."

"Hm, let's do it."

"Hey Lauren.."

"Something wrong Laxus?"

"I.." love you "think we should break up..."

Lauren was shocked to say the least, she knew that Laxus loves her even though he never said it, and she knew that meant they might not ever get married, but she had every intention to spend the rest of her life with him anyway. "Is that really what you want? What will make you happy?"

No.. I need you.. "Yes..."

"Oh...  I I see... If this makes you happy... then... you know what.... I think I'm going to visit my friends, bye Laxus."

Lauren kissed Laxus cheek one last time before running down stairs to Master Markov's office crying. Laxus wished she didn't kiss his cheek because he the feeling of her lips on it still lingers there, wishing she'd would kiss him again and again.

"What's wrong child? Master Markov asked.

Lauren fell to her knees barely able to say, "Gramps... He broke up with me."

Master Markov hugged the crying girl while not knowing what to say about his grandson.

"Master Markov, I think I need to get away from the guild.. Every memory I have here is with him... I'm going to stay with good friends... I just can't stay here anymore.. I'm going to leave the guild for a while.."

Six months passed and Master Markov hasn't told anyone that Lauren left the guild, because she couldn't handle the guild making a big deal out of it, but with Lauren's band - Off Topic - really taking off, she was interviewed by Sorcerer Weekly, and Lucy reads it every week.

"Why didn't you tell us that Lauren left the guild?!" Lucy asked at Master Markov after slamming the guild hall doors open and walking in.

"She didn't want anyone to know." Master Markov answered then took a drink from his mug of beer.

"What do you mean Lauren left the guild old man." Laxus said. "I've been waiting for her to get back so we can go on job, where is she really?"

"I don't know where she is, last I heard from her she was traveling all over with her band. Maybe you've heard of them. They call themselves Off Topic. She really left the guild though, six months ago, but you should have realized that sooner Laxus."

Laxus' eyes snapped opened wide when he realized that they broke up six months ago, not to mention that Off Topic is the artist of some of his favorite songs and some of their newest songs are break up songs, adding to how he feels, which in the moment he realized is literally how Lauren feels since she wrote of them.

"They are on tour right now. That's why they are traveling." Lucy said reading the magazine. "They were asked the places they want to go to, her bandmates Ryan and Ray said they would love to come to Mongolia, Lauren said she didn't want to come here, and when asked why, she wouldn't answer. What happened? I thought Lauren was dating Laxus, why is she suddenly avoiding Mongolia?"

"Lauren and I broke up six months ago." Laxus said.

The place went dead silent as Mirajane dropped the glass she was cleaning, the only noise in that moment was glass shattering.

"It's not your fault she left the guild boy. I saw her leaving when she told me she had formed a band two years ago."

"She told you, but she didn't tell me old man? I'm her boyfriend!"

"No Laxus, you were her boyfriend. She told me she was waiting for the right moment to tell you about the band, something about her demons and a song.."

"My Demons by Off Topic (The song is by Starset).. It's a song she must have wrote about Laxus a year and half ago." Lucy said. "She sings about how the person she loves protects her from her demons that haunts her."

"Yeah I know, I've listened to it every now and then... Lauren did have the biggest smile on her face when I told her I liked the song.." Laxus said.

"If she's the one that wrote it and sings, how can you not tell your own ex-girlfriend is the one singing?!" Gajeel said.

"Do you want to get fried?!" Levy said to Gajeel.

"She wouldn't sing in front of me... said she maybe better than Gajeel, but she still sucks at singing then did something to change the topic.."

"I'M AN AMAZING SINGER!" Gajeel retorted.

"Everyone knows you can't sing bolt for brains!" Natsu said.

"What did you say Salamander!"

The guild then went off into random pointless fights that the whole guild got caught up in, but Laxus just sulked upstairs, his team unable to go up and comfort him since they aren't S Class.

A year passed since Lauren and Laxus broke up. If anyone asked Lauren, she would say she is over it, but if you looked carefully enough, anyone can see that her eyes are lifeless when she isn't performing.

"Hey Gramps, Off Topic is coming to Mongolia! Do you think Lauren will stop by the guild?" Lucy said reading this week's Sorcerer Weekly.

"No, I don't believe she will."

"Hey take a load of this. It's an interview with Off Topic and Jason."

"Why is that you guys have been avoiding going to Mongolia until now?" Jason asked.

"We'd love to go and meet the fans there, it's Lauren that doesn't want to go." Geoff said.

"Why would that be?" Jason

"As you know I am a second generation dragon slayer.. And I born and grew up on Mongolia. I just haven't been ready to return there."

"Alright, one more major question about your songs before we get into the COOOOLLLL gossip. All you songs lately have been very dark, what was in the inspiration for such dark music?"

"Well, about a year ago now, I went through, a hard break up, but I'm fine now."

"She's not fine." Geoff, Ryan, Jack, Ray, Michael, and Gavins said at the same time.

"Shut it guys..." Lauren replied.

"COOOLL! Let's talk about relationships next, we know just learned that Lauren isn't seeing anyone, what about everyone else?"

"I do have a wonderful fiancé and she has been so supportive of the band, and she has been touring with us." Geoff said.

The rest of the band - except Michael and Gavin, admitting that they are single - went on to tell Jason about their girlfriends and how they have been traveling with the band.

"Lauren, you said you grew up in Mongolia, are you apart of Fairy Tail? The guild of the town."

"I used to be yes, but left a year ago."

"Does it have to do with this break up?"

"Not entirely."

"Was anyone else in a guild before?"

"I was part of Blue Pegasus for since I was little, but left four years ago when I met everyone else." Michael said.

"I was part of SaberTooth for a time, but I didn't like the way the guild was being run and the things they did so I left after meeting Lauren about four years ago as well." Ryan said.

"I was never part of a guild. When I moved here I had already known Geoff who invited me to live with him. I had no need to be part of a guild." Gavin said.

"I had done jobs in small towns on my travels, but I had never joined a guild." Jack said.

"I was with Michael in Blue Pegasus, but I left a few months after him as the band was starting to form."

"I wasn't part of a guild because the town I grew up in didn't have a guild, but when something bad happened in the town, the other wizards and I would protect the town, but no ever decided to make a guild, and when I was eighteen I joined the army for a few years."

"Would you guys ever consider joining a guild again."

"If I do, it's going to be Fairy Tail. It's the best guild out there, no matter what anyone says, I will always believe that Fairy Tail is the number one guild in Fiore, and I couldn't think of joining another guild."

The other band members agreed with Lauren about joining Fairy Tail, getting off topic as they talked about Fairy Tail."

"That's the most interesting part of the interview." Lucy said after she finished reading it. "What happened that Lauren and Laxus breaking up was just the pushing point to her leaving?"

"When Ivan was expelled, Lauren's father was expelled as well. He was rarely in the guild hall which is why no one knows about him. He was able to separate his work with Ivan and his family life making an excellent father. Lauren took her father getting expelled worse than Laxus because at the same time she lost her mother. Laxus was the only one she would talk to for several months. She's wanted to go since then but Laxus wasn't going anywhere so she wasn't either. That's how attached those two were."

"I remember those months, and I tried to push her away at the beginning until I realized she wouldn't talk to anyone else but me. I think she was punished more than anyone else in the guild." Laxus said

"Wow... she always seemed so nice.." Gray said.

"Nice and Lauren didn't belong in the same sentence for the longest time, and even sometimes just before she left too."

Two months later, Off Topic sets up to sing for the guild. Lauren hates the idea, but Jack set it up and there is no going back on it because it was too late.

"Ready Lauren?" Ryan asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be Rye-Bread." Lauren replied.

The band walked on stage and Fairy Tail cheered - as well as some of their friends from other guilds like SaberTooth to name one that was also invited.

The band started off with the song, My Demons (by Starset), A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing (by Set it Off), Nightmare (by Set it Off), Dance with the Devil (by Breaking Benjamin), Sarcasm (by Get Scared), N.M.E (by Set it Off), Leave it All Behind (by Cult to Follow), Don't You Dare Forget The Sun (by Get Scared), Bleak December (by Set it Off), Painkiller (by Three Days Grace), Novocaine (by Fall out Boy), Jet Pack Blues (by Fall Out Boy), Casual Sex (by My Darkest Days), Love Drunk (by Boys like Girls), These Are the Lies (by The Cab), and for the last song to brighten the mood Cake By The Ocean (by DNCE). Some of the songs hit Laxus hard and almost wished that The Thunder Legion let him stay home today.

"That was amazing, thank you for coming Lauren." Master Markov said approaching Lauren who is still on stage helping her band pack up their instruments.

"Hm? Oh, no probably Gramps. We were going to be in town anyway." Lauren said.

"Hey Lauren, we go it from here, we will come get you before the concert."

"I'm helping you guys Rye-Bread. We can all come back after and I'll by everyone drinks. If it's okay with you Master Markov, since we aren't part of the guild.

"Of course it's okay my child."

Geoff, who walked backstage with his drums yelled, "yes."

"I'm only buying you a maximum of three Geoff! Otherwise I'd be broke by the end of the night.... Hey Gramps, I got to head out I'll see you later."

When Off Topic entered the guild hall later that day, it was late and many people went home for the night, but Laxus, The Thunder Legion, Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Cana, and Erza still remain to name a few people.

"Hey Lauren! Fight me!" Natsu said already going to attack Lauren.

Lauren punched Natsu and he was down, "Maybe when you are stronger Natsu."

"Holy shit. I knew you were stronger, but fuck, didn't know you were that strong." Michael said.

Lauren winked at the brownish-red haired man causing him to roll his eyes as they sat the table Lauren told them to while she got the first round of drinks from Mirajane.

"Hey Lauren, it's good to see you are well." Freed said approaching the table, the rest of the other two members of the Thunder Legion behind him.

"Hey Freed. Same goes to you."

"I don't know if I would use the words well and Lauren in the same sentence." Jack said.

"You want me to freeze you Jack." Lauren said with a look that could kill. "Ignore them. How's it been? Ever did you and Elfmen get together yet?"

"Wha?! Of course not!"

Lauren chuckled as the blush spread across Evergreens face, "Alright, Bix, how about you and Lisanna? Freed and Mira? Come on give me something."

"Ryan would give you something is you asked." Michael laughed.

"Do you have a death wish Michael!" Lauren and Ryan said at the same time.

"Besides, in case you don't remember ash for brains, I have a girlfriend." Ryan added.

"I'll be back later guys." Lauren said to her band. "Come on guys, let's get away from the idiots for a while."

Lauren and The Thunder Legion sat down by the bar, Laxus watching Lauren's every move wanting to wrap his arms around her and make her stay with him.

"Alright so really, did you two get together with the girls?"

"I don't know what you are talking about, I don't like her..." Bixslow said.

"Yeah, it's not like they would like us anyway..." Freed said.

"They are convinced that Mira likes Laxus, and Lisanna likes Natsu."

"Oh? Is that so?" Lauren was thrown off by the information that Mirajane has the possibility of liking Laxus. "I'm sure Lisanna likes you Bix, you just gotta ask her out, and I'll even help you when I come back in two months at the end of the tour."

"You going to join the guild again?"

"Uh, I've been thinking about it. It really depends on were Geoff and his soon to be wife Griffin want to stay. I'm forced to live with them..."

"Why is that?" Freed said.

"They don't trust me alone.... Don't worry about it. Hey how has Laxus been?"

"Well... Gramps basically has us baby sitting him." Bixslow said.

"Master Markov has good intentions with it. How has training been going with being on tour?"

"I can freeze this whole guild hall by just letting my magic run wild and not casting a single spell. So it's been going very well."

Lauren returned to her band not long after and soon passed out from one two many drinks. Laxus carried her to his place, after a short argument with her bandmates. Laxus placed her gently on his bed, took off her shoes and placed them by the bed, tucking her in before getting ready for bed and going to sleep on the couch.

As Lauren started to wake late the next morning, Laxus' scent filled her nose momentarily forgetting the last year, she rolled over expecting to be able to cuddle into Laxus, but his half of the bed was empty and she shot her eyes wide open sitting up. She also noticed she was still in her clothes from the night before.

Laxus could hear stifled cries coming from his bedroom as laid on the couch unable to go back to sleep even though he barely slept. He laid there for a moment before getting up and knocking on his own bedroom door.

He heard Lauren sigh before saying, "You can come in Laxus.."

"Something the matter? I thought I heard you crying.."

"I'm fine." Lauren couldn't look at Laxus knowing she would cry even more.

"Lauren... look at me... please.." Laxus gently turned Lauren's head so she was looking at him as he sat on his bed next to her. "I messed up.. I didn't mean it."

"What are you talking about?"

"I didn't mean to break up with you... I was trying to say... I well I trying to say that I... I love you." Even in that moment Laxus had trouble saying it, but found it rolled of his tongue easy and knew he would be able to say it again easy. "I was trying to say that I love you... I wanted to tell you so many times over the years when we were dating. I wanted to tell you when you said yes to being my girlfriend, I wanted to tell you every day of our relationship... I don't know why I couldn't... and I ended up making the biggest mistake... you'd asked if breaking up would make me happy, I wanted to say no and back out of it as soon as I said it, but I couldn't find myself to and I'm sorry... I didn't want to ruin everything. I'm so sorry Lauren. I just, I love you so much."

The tears rolled down Laxus' face faster than Lauren thought possible as tears rolled down her face as well. Although she never needed to hear the three little words, she wanted to, she knew that no matter what she told everyone, she was still madly in love with the crying man in front of her, and she wasn't about to make the same mistake he did seeing how much he greatly regrets it. Lauren cupped Laxus' face in her hands, wiping away his tears and kissing him. Laxus kissed her back right away. The two stayed like that for what seemed like hours, but was only a few minutes.

"How.. how can you kiss me like that after everything I've done.." Laxus said.

"Because I love you. I can't help it, I just absolutely love you."

Laxus didn't know what to say as, so instead he kissed her again, showing Lauren how much he loves her.

Lauren moved her hands so that they were in Laxus' hair. Laxus missed her touch as he pulled her so that she was sitting in his lap. This caused Lauren to giggle as she pulled away from the kiss, "Happy anniversary babe."

"It's August 10th?"

"Yeah." Lauren laughed. "It's almost ironic."

"God I love you." Laxus said and kissed every inch of her face as he laid Lauren on her back with him hovering over her.

The two walked into the guild hall a few hours later and Lauren's best friends practically attacked her with questions causing Lauren to drop Laxus hand as they surrounded her.

"Woah, shut up, and stop talking all at once. Jack did you say we are going late?"

"YES!" Jack said.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU LEAVE WITHOUT ME THEN!.... Alright alright... Gavin, how fast can we get there teleporting?"

"Going straight there? About three to five minutes with stopping in between so I can collect myself."

"Let's go then. I just need a minute, wait for me outside."

"Make it quick." Geoff said.

Laxus gave Lauren a look wondering what just happened, Lauren didn't have a chance to see the look as she pulled him to Master Markov's office.

"Master Markov." Lauren said gaining his attention. He was surprised to see the two holding hands. "I need to go, but when I come back in two months, at the end of the tour when we are taking a few months off to write new songs and relax so that Geoff and Griffin can get married and such, can I join the guild again?"

"Of course my child. Would you like Laxus to put the guild emblem on you now?"

"I'm allowed to do that?" Laxus said surprised.

"Mirajane is the one that usually does it, so I see no reason why you can't."

Lauren smiled and lifted her shirt - Laxus never removed any of her clothes from his house allowing Lauren to have a clean pair of clothes for the morning - it was an older shirt, Lauren prefer to wear shirts that showed her tattoo - that is similar to Laxus' being they got it at the same time, except for the fast that Lauren's goes down on her stomach and back, instead of her chest and back - and Laxus placed the guild mark where it belongs, it's black like his.

Lauren kissed Laxus' cheek good bye before running out of the guild hall where Gavin teleported the seven to the next town they were going to for tour.   

Lauren changed to the clothes she prefers to wear just before the concert. She was about to go on stage when the guys pulled her back looking at the guild mark.

"Since when did this happen?" Geoff asked.

"I got the guild mark just before leaving."

"Hey why were you late? Even Gavin was ready before you." Ray asked.

"You all have colorful minds, put them to good use." Lauren winked.

"Gross. With who?"

"My boyfriend, Laxus."

"He was the one that broke up with you." Michael said.

"We made up this morning after he practically cried his eyes out."

Geoff laughed, thinking of the "mighty Laxus" crying. The laugh was played through the speakers since the fans loved it so much, and that signaled the start of the concert

When the two months were over all of Off Topic returned to Fairy Tail and Mira placed guild marks on them and their significant others. Lauren hugged the six happily, before hugging the four girls and the guild broke out into party celebrating the new members.

Geoff, Griffin, Michael and Gavin sit at the bar, Gavin on Michael's lap, sitting next to Geoff, and Griffin next to him. Ryan, Laurie, Jack and Caiti sitting at a table with Macco and Wakaba, Ray and Tina sitting at a table with the Thunder Legion. Laxus is on the second floor with a drink in hand, while Lauren stepped out for a moment - not having told Laxus she is back - to put some things away.

When Lauren walked back into the guild hall she smiled seeing her best friends have adjusted to the guild so quickly.

"Yo love birds, get a room!" Lauren yelled at Michael and Gavin laughing - they have been dating for two years.

"Shut up Lauren!" The two yelled back causing Geoff and Griffin to laugh.

"Mira, you gotta watch these two." Lauren winked then direct her attention to Master Markov, "Hey Gramps, am I still allowed upstairs or do I have to go through the S Class trials again?"

"You are still S Class, go on up."

Lauren ran up and tackled her boyfriend laughing, "Hey babe."

Laxus was able to prevent the two from falling over so now Lauren sits straddling Laxus, "You're lucky you didn't spill my drink."

"You mean my drink." Lauren said taking a sip from said drink. Lauren continued to drink it until it was finished.

"You owe me a drink babe."

"Nah."

Laxus chuckled and pecked his girlfriend's lips with his own.  

"That party is down stairs you know."

"I know, but you're up here with me." Laxus kissed Lauren again, but this time he continued to kiss her instead of a simple peck.

Lauren rolled her eyes before closing them as she kissed her boyfriend back. She was going to move her hands to his hair when Lauren left Laxus take his left hand and placed it on her own before slipping an object on her ring finger.

Laxus pulled away after doing this just enough to mumbled, "I love you." Against her lips.

Lauren leaned her forehead on his saying, "I love you too Laxus, hey what's with this?" Lauren said looking at her hand. "It's a beautiful ring and I really like it, but it's such a nice ring, I think you should have saved it for when you propose."

"Lauren, it is an engagement ring."

"Who said I wanted to marry you?"

"You'd you have kissed me like that if you didn't?"

"No, I suppose I wouldn't have. Should we wait until tomorrow to tell them so that they can party tomorrow too?"

"Why not, but let's go enjoy the party, and since someone drank my beer, I need another one."

Lauren looked at her fiancé innocently as she held is hand pulling him up with her as she stood up to go down stairs.

Laxus and Lauren weren't questioned as they continued to hold hands throughout the day, and left together that night, it was only the next morning when Mirajane realized it as they walked in the next day holding hands. The couple decided to tell some of the story of how they got back together knowing that some of the details didn't need to be shared with the guild, although some guessed it anyway when Ray lightly elbowed Lauren's side in a playful manor, as well as just completely lying about how they got engaged knowing that they guild really didn't need to know that - even though they just made-out.

It was a year and a half later when they were married. Lauren said she wanted to wait until after Geoff and Griffin get back from their honeymoon needing both of them there and she didn't want to ruin their wedding by getting married to soon, besides the fact that getting married is expensive and Lauren didn't want to have to pay bills, so they were went on S Class Quests none stop to make sure they had enough money and then some. But they were together the whole time and wouldn't want it to be any other way. Laxus even went on tour with the band - even though he would have rather been taking jobs, he put up with it because of the love he has for his wife.
