Airport Love - Adam Kovic and Alayna

Of course there was a layover, there's always a layover. Alayna shook her head and fled off of the plane with everyone else. And of course, the layover was one fucking state away from where she needed to be. She sighed under her breath and walked towards a Starbucks stand located near the gate that she would have to board in about two hours, when she accidently bumped into someone.

"Sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going." Alayna said. The person turned around to look at her, a look of slight annoyance on his face, until he saw her, and how beautiful she was, with her long curly brown hair and golden-brown eyes.

"Oh, it's fine. I shouldn't be standing in the middle of the airport where beautiful girls like you would be walking." Alayna's face grew warm and she smiled lightly. "I'm Adam."

"I'm Alayna."

"So where are you going?"

"Back home to Los Angeles."

"That's where I am going as well. I live there too."

"No way! Maybe you and me can go somewhere sometime." She said nervously

"Yeah sounds good. Can I have your phone number so we can make plans to meet up?"

"Sure, it's.."

Adam and Alayna exchanged phone numbers. Alayna had just enough time to get her Starbucks before she had to board her plane. It turned out that she and Adam sat right next to each other on the plane. The plane ride was four hours long so they had plenty of time to get to know each other better.

Once the plane landed and everyone started walking down to the luggage pick up, Adam and Alayna decided to walk together. They figured that it would be less boring plus it would make the time go by faster.

Adam and Alayna stood together watching for their luggage to appear on the conveyor belt. For the first time in hours they stood quiet, probably admiring each other in silence for the first time. What was there not to admire? Adam was admiring Alayna's golden-brown eyes, her long, wavy brown hair and her beautiful smile that lit up every time he spoke. He often caught himself smiling even though he had nothing to smile at, maybe she just had that effect on him. For Alayna, Adam was different from any other guy she has ever met. Sure all girls say that but it was true for her. For some reason every time he smiled, she smiled. Alayna often had to look away when she noticed herself looking at him, to hide the light pink blush across her face, making Adam's smile grow larger.

"Boyfriend going to be picking you up?" Adam asked.

"Oh no. I don't have a boyfriend actually. I was just going to call a cab." Alayna said.

"Oh I'm surprised, you are so beautiful I thought you would have a boyfriend. So anyway, where you headed? I can give you a ride if you want. I left my car in the airport parking lot because I was only away for about a day and a half for work."

"I couldn't bother you with that."

"Nah, it's fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

Alayna told Adam where she was going. It turns out that her apartment wasn't far from the Funhaus office, which is where Adam works.

"Oh wow. You live really close to the Funhaus office, which is where I work."

"OH! Now I recognized you! I thought you looked familiar. Adam Kovic from Funhaus. My friend likes Funhaus, she's tried to get me to watch more of your videos, but I have been too busy playing video games to watch."

"Yeah. That's me." Adam said. "You want to come to the office with me? We can play some video games then go out to dinner?"

"Sounds like a great idea. Let me put my suitcase in my apartment really fast."

The rest of the day went very well for the both of them. After being introduced and Alayna getting to know and fitting in very well with everyone at Funhaus, Adam and Alayna decided to go to dinner, after Adam dropped her off to get ready.

Adam waited outside his car leaning on it waiting on his dinner date to arrive. After a couple minutes of waiting in silence, he saw her approach him.

"Hey you look great, I didn't know you could look even more beautiful than you already did." Adam says leaning up, looking her up and down not believing how she looked. "Maybe I should have changed."

"Thanks, but I told you already Adam, you look great." Alayna says smiling as Adam looks at her before changing the subject, noticing his face heating up.

"So are you ready to go?"

"Sure, let's go" Alayna says as Adam cuts in front of her opening the door for her to get in. "Thank you Adam"

Adam closes the door behind her, letting out a breath. "Come on Adam, get yourself together."

Adam got into the car and drove to a romantic restaurant. He had to make reservations and it might have cost a little more than what he usually spends on a first date but Alayna was worth it. When they got there, Adam; being the gentlemen he is opened the door for Alayna.

"Adam, you didn't have to take me here, we could have went somewhere else." Alayna says shaking her head.

"No, No this is where I wanted to go plus I couldn't take you just anywhere when you look so beautiful."

Alayna's cheeks heat up, turning a deep shade of pink.

"But isn't this a little, you know.. Like a date?"

"Wait this isn't a date? I'm an idiot!"

Alayna laughs as she puts her hand on his arm. "Adam it's fine, I was just joking. Thank you for taking me here, it's amazing."

"Your welcome."

Adam and Alayna got settled at their table, the inside of the restaurant looking amazing. It had candles, classy music and even a chandelier.

"So how was your dinner?" Adam asks walking with Alayna to the car.

"It was amazing."

"Your amazing."

Adam's face heating up as soon as he noticed what he said, as Alayna's doing the same, making their walk go into awkward silence.

"I'm sorry, I'm making everything awkward."

"No, no it's okay. I've made things way more awkward tonight than you have."

"That's so not true."

"It's so true."

"Well I like you, awkward or not." Alayna looks away, Adam's face once again heating up. "God damn it! I did it again didn't I?" Adam asks making Alayna laugh, her smile making him smile.

"Your an idiot" Alayna says pushing him softly making him smile.

"Well then, if I'm such an idiot then I guess you would say no to another date with me."

"I so wouldn't." Alayna says smiling at her date. "This night has been one of the best nights of my life, thanks to you."

"Well if that's the case, would you on another date with me?" Adam asks stopping behind the car as Alayna stops as well, looking at him before smiling.

"I would love to."

After the fifteenth time of being at Funhaus, it was a unanimous decision that she should be offered a job, and of course she accepted the job happily. Adam, being the shy lovesick puppy that he is, waited until the twentieth date to ask Alayna to be his girlfriend. Alayna being extremely happy to say the least.

Ever since their first date, Adam has outdone himself each time from romantic restaurants, private picnics and even surprising her with bouquets of roses. Adam and Alayna are still going on dates, and are becoming more and more in love with each passing day. Everyone can see that they are madly in love, and neither Adam or Alayna, no matter how annoying that layover was they wouldn't trade it for the world.
