The Haunted Corn Maze
"Shh..."
"Sean, I don't want to be here, haven't you heard the stories?!" She reminded.
"Yes, Katy, I have. There's supposed to be some guy with a mask and chainsaw here coming to attack us at this corn field or whatever, come on."
Katy grabbed onto the sleeve of Sean's football jacket, still hesitant of doing this.
They were currently in a haunted corn maze, which everyone enjoyed coming to, except...it was around two in the morning and the place had closed early for Halloween the next day.
Sean had promised Katy that they would be staying in to watch romantic movies and possibly a few horror films but nooooo Sean decided it was a good idea to take her to this freaking maze where everything looked the same.
'Legend' had it that at the end of what used to be a regular cornfield, there was a house. And in that house lived a young father and his four year old daughter. One day the daughter was kidnapped and sent into a maze with no ending, trying to find her father. She died in there and out of rage, the father cut his corn field into a maze and anyone who was in there had to suffer the same death his daughter did. Death by chainsaw.
It was a crappy legend and everyone knew it was fake and just for fun-- except the kids-- but still everyone would freak out and run like hell if they saw something hiding in the corn. The corn maze was part of a small carnival in Lawrence, Kansas.
"There's no one here, don't worry." Sean reassured.
"Well duh, it's closed." Katy scoffed, following Sean deeper into the maze.
Of course, being the stupid teenagers at the beginning of almost every supernatural episode, they had no idea someone had been watching them as soon as they set foot in the maze.
"Come on, we're almost there." Sean whispered.
"Where are we even going?" Katy asked, irritated.
"I know a great make out spot around here somewhere."
"And how do you know there's a great make out spot here if you've never taken me?" Katy was beginning to suspect something.
"I uh-- I've just heard that it was a good spot, damn Katy, calm down." Sean laughed nervously.
Katy huffed and let go of his jacket, turning away. "I'm going home."
Sean turned around in confusion, "Katy, come on! It's not that far!"
"No! We've been walking around here for an hour and we haven't found your little 'spot'. I'm leaving." She began to walk away when Sean heard a twig snap.
"What was that?" Sean whispered.
"Sean stop, you're not gonna make me stay like that."
"No, wait. Katy I heard somet-- " the sound of a chainsaw cut them off.
"Sean..." Katy whispered, worry filling her voice.
The sound became louder and from within the corn, emerged a tall figure in torn, raggy clothes, splattered with blood. He was wearing a dark mask, also covered in blood, and he raised up the chainsaw, threatening to bring it down on them.
"GO KATY RUN!" Sean yelled and began running.
Katy screamed and ran after him. They cut through the maze and ran until they reached Sean's car. The sound of tires screeching and en engine roaring filled the air and they were gone.
The figure powered down the chainsaw and removed the mask, smirking at his good work.
"Opening hours start at five tomorrow night! Come again soon!" Dean smiled, waving his farewell.

// Castiel's POV
"Come on Cassie!" Gabriel whined. "It's just a little bit at the maze!"
"It's not even haunted! They just say that to make scaredy-cats like you even more terrified." Lucifer said.
Castiel shook his head. "I don't think-- "
"Come on! Please!" Balthazar pleaded.
"We wont ask anything of you again! Maybe..." Alfie smiled, his big eyes wide with hope.
Castiel sighed and closed his eyes. "Fine."
The boys yelled in triumph and tackled Cas in a hug.
Castiel Novak had just agreed to go to the Halloween carnival with his brothers to travel in the haunted corn maze. Great.
Castiel was never a big fan of horror and there was one reason for that: fear. He never enjoyed admitting it but when you got down to it, Cas was just a very scared baby bee who needs to be protected at all costs because in his eyes, everyone was out there to hurt him. ((Sorry))
But his brothers wanted to go so why not? It might actually turn out to be a good idea and kinda fun!
+++++
This was a terrible idea. This was not fun! Not fun at all!
There were deformed clowns and zombies and demons and scary people in masks and hOLY FRICK CAS WANTED TO GO HOME.
But he kept quiet and walked along with his brothers.
It was currently 11:00PM on Halloween and the moon decided to be a full moon of an eerie yellow color, dark clouds smearing it across the night sky.
"Okay. There she is." Gabriel announced looking at the maze.
Castiel gulped at the sight of it. It was the furthest area of the carnival and the darkest.
People were either walking in enthusiastically, walking out from the exit in fear, or running for their lives from a weird side of the maze where they just made an exit because it's a frigging maze and they couldn't find the exit.
"Okay, Alfie, we're gonna need you to stay back and play on the kiddie rides." Lucifer said, looking down at the small, six year old boy.
"But I wanna go with you!" He protested.
Lucifer leaned down and stared into the boy's soul. "Alfie...please. I'll buy you a pumpkin and help you carve it."
Alfie's eyes widened and he hugged Lucifer tightly.
"You're the best brother ever!" He squealed.
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." Cas, Gabriel, and Balthazar rolled their eyes.
Alfie ran over to a carousel and waited in line, watching a man with candy apples walk by.
"Let's do this." Balthazar smirked.
Castiel gulped and followed his brothers into the maze.
"Want me to hold your hand?" Gabriel teased.
Castiel rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
Lucifer and Balthazar laughed and walked further into the maze, stopping when the road split in two.
"Which was should we go?" Balthy asked.
"Left?"
"Right?"
"Let's split up!" Gabriel suggested.
"W-What?!" Cas squeaked.
"Yeah! Let's split up!" Lucifer agreed, chuckling under his breath. "I'll go with Balthy on the right and you and Gabe go left!" He grabbed his brother's hand and walked away into the maze.
"N-n-n-no! We should've stayed together!" Cas yelled after them.
"Ugh, come on Cassie." Gabriel sighed and began walking in the opposite direction.
They walked in a very uncomfortable silence, mainly because Cas was too busy listening to every crack and sound in the field.
They reached another turn, took a right and ended up in a dead end.
"Uggghhhhh now what?" Gabriel groaned. "We've taken like five different paths and we end up in a dead end each time!"
Then, silent rusting was heard.
"Did you hear that?!" Cas whispered.
"Hear what?" Gabriel groaned, looking around.
"There's someone out in the field." Cas said, grabbing onto Gabriel's arm.
"Cas, there's no one hERE!" Something grabbed Gabriel's feet and pulled him into the wall of the maze.
"GABRIEL!"
"CASTIEL!"
Gabriel tried to pull away from whatever was holding him and Cas tried to grab him but he was gone.
"G-Gabe?" Cas asked, his eyes wide. "Gabriel!"
A few moments later, the sounds of Lucifer and Balthazar screaming were heard.
Castiel felt his heart drop. He wrapped his arms around himself and kept walking, trying to calm himself down.
Random hands would stick out of the corn and reach out to him and Castiel would scream and run further into the maze.
He just really wanted to go home.
// Dean's POV
Dean waited in his position. He had just scared away another couple and a few kids.
He fixed his tattered and bloody clothes and waited patiently.
After a few minutes, Dean began to walk. He knew this maze like the back of his hand. He had every path, short cut, and make out spot out there memorized.
He stopped when he heard the crunching of corn coming in his direction. He saw someone run by, breathing heavily.
Dean smirked under his mask and followed the dark haired teenager.
He followed him for a solid minute before spotting him cowered away in a corner, arms wrapped around himself.
Dean took a deep breath and began his regular routine. He adjusted his clothes and turned on the chainsaw.
The boy's head jerked up and looked around frantically at the sound of the chainsaw.
Dean breathed through the mask and began to walk towards him.
It took a while, but the boy noticed Dean emerge from the dark path of the maze and his face went white.
The boy's eyes widened and he looked like he wanted to scream but he couldn't. He was paralyzed.
Dean was just about to raise his chainsaw when he noticed how the boy looked at him.
He was completely terrified! His big blue eyes were threatening to spill tears and his arms were wrapped around himself tightly. The boy shut his eyes tightly, tears spilling and turned away.
This poor boy. Dean couldn't bring himself to scare him away.
Dean cut off the chainsaw and dropped it and walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
The boy shrieked and cowered away even more.
"Oh, sorry! Are you okay?" Dean asked, pulling off his mask.
The boy looked up at him in relief.
"I-- I just want to go home." He mumbled, wiping his eyes.
Dean nodded, kicked the chainsaw and mask far into the wall of the maze and smiled at the boy.
"I'm Dean." He said, his smile wide.
"Castiel..." the boy whispered.
"Well, I'll get you outta here Cas." Dean smiled and began walking.
Castiel nodded and followed Dean.
When they reached the area with the creepy hands, Dean looked over at Cas who was hyperventilating and took his hand.
"Do you watch Doctor Who?" He asked Cas.
Castiel looked up at him in confusion.
"Y-Yes-- but I don't understand how that's relevant to any o-- "
"Run." Dean smiled and began running.
Castiel's eyes widened and he fangirled inside at the reference as he ran with Dean.
The hands reached and tried to grab them but they couldn't go to far without the entire person falling out of the corn.
Castiel grabbed onto Dean's blood stained sleeve and tried to calm himself down.
"Did you come here alone?" Dean asked, confused.
"Well...no. I came here with my brothers but I heard then scream and they disappeared." Cas whispered. "Something grabbed my brother's leg and pulled him into the corn."
"Well...let me tell you, Cas, that wasn't someone who worked here. We can touch but like not harass someone or pull them into the maze." Dean said.
Castiel's eyes widened.
"Does that mean he was kidnapped?!" Castiel asked, his eyes filled with horror.
"No! No of course not! I don't think anyone would want to kidnap your brother. Not when there are many vulnerable children running around."
Castiel gasped and almost fainted. "I have a six year old brother at the carousel!"
Dean shook his arms violently in the air and laughed nervously. "No one is going to get kidnapped!"
Castiel blinked at him before he bursted out into a fit of giggles and laughter. Dean was quiet for a while, just staring at Cas laugh. Then a dewy, lovey smile formed on Dean's face at the thought that he had made a terrified teenager laugh. Castiel had a pretty cute laugh. And face. Dean blushed and laughed with him.
"Here we go! You are now safe!" Dean smiled, finally walking out of the maze with Cas.
Castiel's eyes widened as did his smile. He wiped any remaining tears and wrapped his arms around Dean's middle.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" And he quickly pulled away. "Sorry..."
Dean smiled widely and took his hand again. "Come on."
"Wha-- where are we going?" Cas asked as Dean dragged him to the food tents.
"I. Am. Going to buy you something to apologize for scaring you half to death." Dean said, walking up to a tent full of treats.
"Hello, Dean! What can I do for you boys?" A woman smiled at them.
"I'll take two candy apple, thanks." Dean smiled, squeezing Cas' hand.
Castiel watched as Dean pulled out money and made small talk with the woman as she made the treat. Cas felt himself blush when he realized Dean was literally taking off time from his work to get Cas out of the maze and was now buying him a candy apple! Castiel felt his heart plunge with the thought that he was possibly developing a crush.
"Here you go, Dean." The woman smiled.
"Thanks, Jody." Dean smiled, payed, and took the sweet treats.
Jody smiled softly at them and went to deal with another customer.
"Here ya go, Cas." Dean said, his green eyes sparkling. Castiel tried not to laugh when he noticed Dean's clothes were completely tattered and he had blood splattered on them and his face.
"Thank you, Dean." Cas smiled and took his apple. "A toast, to you saving me." He said, lifting up his apple.
Dean nodded and touched his apple with Cas' causing them to stick together.
"Crap. Sorry!" Dean laughed.
Castiel laughed and took a bite of his apple, Dean did the same, their foreheads sort of touched and their noses brushed against each other causing them to blush and pull the apples apart from each other.
Dean then took Castiel's hand for the millionth time that night and began walking, swinging their interlocked fingers.
"So, Cas...um...do I get to see you again anytime soon?" Dean asked out of no where.
Castiel stopped walking and looked up at Dean, who was violently blushing.
"Perhaps." Cas smiled, taking another bite of his candy apple.
A smile spread across Dean's face and he squeezed Cas' hand again, walking them towards the pumpkin carving tent.
They walked inside and there they were. Alfie was sitting at a table, carving a pumpkin with the help of Lucifer while Gabriel and Balthazar argued over who had the better pumpkin.
Castiel felt himself fill with anger.
"They were here the entire time?!" He yelled.
"Uh...Cas?"
"Those are my brothers." Cas pointed. "And they're about to get one big ass-whoopen. Hold my apple."
Dean laughed nervously and took Cas' apple, letting the boy storm off towards his brothers.
Then, Cas ran back and gave Dean a quick kiss on the cheek before running off to chase his now terrified brothers.
Dean laughed as he watched Cas corner them and throw pumpkins at them.
Yep, Dean Winchester had just met the guy but he was so in love.
"Dean! What are you doing here?" Sam asked, walking up to him. "You're supposed to be in the maze!"
"I know, Sammy, I just had to do something." Dean laughed. "I think I can take a few more hours off."
Sam bitch-faced him before Gabriel spotted him.
"Humana humana humana who is tHIS?" Gabriel asked, appearing next to Sam, reading his name tag. "Hey there, Sammy."
Sam's eyes widened and he slapped his forehead as the flirting began.
"GABRIEL YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Cas yelled running at him with a large pumpkin.
"Whoops, gotta dash, Samwich! See ya!" And he was running again.
In the end, it was Lucifer who reached down and pulled Gabriel into the corn. They had it all planned.
This was a very strange Halloween.
*HELLOO! How was that? I like it! Yay! I hope you like it. I just found the prompt on tumblr and I thought 'o-m-g! Perfect!' And this was the result! What do you guys this????
Hopefully it wasn't too cheesy.
So just so you know, Lucifer, Gabriel, and Balthazar all planned this, with Alfie's help. But it was a huge surprise to them when Cas came back eating a candy apple with a rather attractive man. Sorry for any hiccups in this one-shot!
See you guys next time! What would you like me to update next?
