They sat together by the tree.
Friends.
Brothers.
Your only friend for life.

But things change...

Dream saw his brother before he saw him. Dream ran up and hugged him. Nightmare pushed him away "go away Dream" he snapped. Dream looked hurt "but brother I've missed you"

Nightmare pushed him away with one of his tenticals "leave me alone"

Nightmare regretted that...

        "Please don't leave me"

He was now starting to miss the past. He tried so hard to forget what happened. When he and Dream were still the close brother they once were.

                 "Please stay"

Dream cried out to him asking why he did it. The memory hurt. Was it all his fault?

             "Don't go Dream"

           "I'm so sorry Dream"

Is it possible for a monster to absorb another monsters soul?

                  "Please..."

Dream walked over to Nightmare "brother?"
Nightmare didn't awnser. He looked at Dream with no emotion. "Nightmare what's wrong?"

  "After everything you still care"                                             

Nightmare smiled slightly. The tree they once looked after together stood in the background. "I can't believe you still care" Nightmare chuckled. Dream looked at him "of course I care your my brother"

Nightmare didn't know how to awnser. He laughed "you need to move on Dream. I'm pretty sure you don't want to call me your brother after everything I've done"

Dream walked over to him "no matter what happens you'll always be my brother"

Nightmare grabbed Dream with one of his tentacles "stop trying to make me care!" He yelled and threw Dream away. Dream hit the tree. He looked up at Nightmare hurt both physically and emotionally.

Dust fell to the ground.

Nightmare saw this and froze.
He didn't want this.
He ran over to Dream and hugged him.

Dream didn't say anything
Dream didn't try anything
Dream hugged back

Nightmare held onto Dream like it was the last time he would.

It was.

"I'm sorry Dream"

A gust of wind came past.
Nightmare blamed himself for this
"It's all my fault. I'm sorry Dream I didn't mean for this to happen"
Dream smiled "I forgive you Nightmare"

Dust blew away in the wind.

"I'm not going to lose you"

There was a bright light.
What looked like Nightmare stood up.

Tears fell to the ground.

One eye like Nightmare. A golden star pupil. Nightmare's tenticals moved softly. Dream's cape blew in the wind. A black hoodie hung open. Black pants met golden boots.

Nightdream gave a weak smile.

He sat by the tree.
Once two.
Now one.
Once friends.
Once brothers.
Your only friend for life.
But things change.
You can change them back.
Love is stronge.
Sibling love is stronger.
Keep you siblings close.
Some day they might be gone.
Keep the in your heart.
Death won't separate this love.
