Brody is really awkward. He really doesn't know how to talk to people, considering all throughout his life he never got the change to talk to people his own age. Constantly, he had always been bullied for his looks or his acts, and in return that killed his self-eesteem and made him hesitantly to talk. So if he ever does speak to you, don't be surprised if it's a mutter of a stutter.
Because of his lack of communication skills, he never really made any relationships for friendships, which in return lead him to a very sheltered childhood. He's never been kissed, much less had sex so he's about as innocent as any 18 year old could get.
But he is very kind. Brody is the type of boy that will take the clothes off his back for someone else in need, because that was the way he was raised. He is a great listener, always there if you need advice and always there to help you.
He is sort of a pushover, easy to say yes and avoid confrontation.

Swimming: It is something that he absolutely adores. He's always been too uncordinated and clumsy to play a sport, but swimming is the one thing he has always been good at.

From a young age, everyone knew that Brody was different. And his father hated him for it.
He hated him so much, that he tried to kill him when Brody was eight. It scarred him, both mentally and phyiscally for life.
From then on, people bullied him. They thought he was weak, taking one look at his scars and making judgements. It hurt him deeply and made him untrusting.
But all in all, it made him stronger. It made him mire immune to people's harsh words and made him less likely to show how he really felt in public.
