Scars - Colton has plenty of scars that he refuses to talk about. Most of them aren't really noticable, and you would have to be really close to him to ever get him to open up and talk about them

Length - His hair isn't exactly long nor is it considered short. It's somewhere right in the middle. It brushes along the top of his ears, yet gets longer a the top, and usually just sits in an unruly mess

Texture - His hair is thick, always has been. He usually ranks his fingers through his hair enough times that his finger trails are still seen in it. Usually, it can be a little wavy, especially after he gets out of the shower

Color - His hair usually changes between the color of dark brown and light brown depending on the lighting. Usually, it's somewhere in the middle. But out in the sun, it looks chocolate brown, however after a shower, it's so dark it can be passed as black

Shape - His eyes are almond shaped, squinty with perception. They are slightly hooded, from the amount of sleepless nights he has.

Color - His eyes, just like his hair, are a rich, chocolate brown. Usually, they are cold and calculative, because there are rare moments when he's truly happy. However when that happens, his eyes warm up, and become a soft hazel color, with small green flecks near the pupil

Eyelashes - Surprisingly, the eyelashes that frame his face are thick and long, softening the cold look in his eyes

Freckles dot his chest. They are hard to notice unless you're really close to him, but they are there

When he's angry or annoyed, his nose will crinkle up. It's not a big difference, but it's something that his siblings always tease him about

On his wrists, Colton drew four symbols. A red heart and a black and white yin-yang lay on his right wrist. A blue star and a yellow peace sign lay on his left wrist. The symbols aren't very big, nor do they attract lots of attention, but he has them there. The heart stands for self harm. The yin-yang stands for supporting others. The star stands for depression. And the peace sign stands for recovery. He's always worn them. When he doesn't, you know something's wrong

🌹P O S I T I V E
Listens - Colton has always been more of a "speak when spoken to" kind of guy. Which means that he usually doesn't have much to say unless you p*ss him off. But he's a great listener. He may not always say something in return, but he's good for when you need to vent. And he'll never complain about it either
Loyal - Once you have Colton, you will never loose him. He will stick by you, even if what you're doing is incredibly stupid. Sometimes it gets him hurt for being too d*mn attached, but most of the time he doesn't regret it
Independent - He's never really been one to constantly ask others for help. He knows how to stand on his own two feel, mostly because he was forced to grow up at a young age. But this independence that he has will really set him up for success
Funny - When he opens up to you and you can finally get him to have an open conversation with you, don't be surprised when he cracks a few jokes. Some of then are corny and don't make sense, but they always make people smile

🌹N E U T R A L
Nerd - With nothing else to do, for a while Colton found himself lost in a sea of books. He read about anything from why Hitler wanted to wipe out the Jewish all the way to why Bella fell in love with a vampire. For him, reading was an escape and even now you'll find him curled up with a good book from time to time. However sometimes, he thinks he knows it all and may get a little cocky and sarcastic about things, but that's usually only when he's running out of patience
Quiet - Colton usually doesn't have a lot to say, and most of the time, that makes people think there is something wrong with him. He just chooses not to voice his opinions, even if he does have a lot of them
Perceptive - For someone so silent, he tends to pick up on a lot of things. He notices plenty about others, even if they don't always see it about themselves. That is also something that causes people to think there is something wrong with him, however it's not his fault when something someone does catches his attention

🌹N E G A T I V E
Witty - Because of how much he reads, he contains a lot a knowledge, which means he has a lot of comebacks for stupid things someone may have to say. And trust me, when he's really p*ssed off, or tired, his witty comebacks will fire back. And not nicely either
Hot-Headed - Colton has a major temper that he has a hard time controlling. He tries, and has refrained a lot from lashing out, but sometimes it's more difficult than that. Especially when it comes down to the people he cares about
Argumentative - Colton tends to be really stubborn, a lot more than he's willing to admit. And because of that, he can cause unnecessary arguments when he's in a mood. He's not hesitant to apologize, however sometimes he can say things that hurt others, and an apology doesn't suffice
Strong-Willed - Colton has a lot of opinions, and sometimes, especially if it is something he is sensitive about, he will not hesitant to talk about how he feels on the issue. It can make him really passionate, but he's been known to take it a little too far

Emotional - Although Colton may be smart, he usually acts on what he feels at the moment. Especially if it has to do with the people who are close to him

Introvert - He has never been good at talking to others. Being in large crowds really stresses him out, which is why he is so prone to skipping a class to calm down. He is definitely the kind of guy to curl up with a good book rather than go out and party

Realist - Colton may have dreams and ideas, but he never acts on them. He usually shuts them down before the hope can blossom. He is too used to being let down to ever have the hope for something he knows would never happen. It's hard to dream things will come real when your do far down on the social class

Pessimist - Colton has never been one to look on the bright side of things. He might, sometimes, depending on who is around him, but his first possible thought is the worst thing that can happen

Logan and Benny Horne took Colton into their home when Colton turned 14. At first, he was the biggest jerk in the world, and refused to open up to them. But not after very long, they saw Colton for who he really is and adopted him into their home. Colton doesn't always get along with Logan, but he is the best father Colton has ever had. Benny, however, is the sweetest little thing he has ever seen and Colton spends a lot of time trying to make sure he loves him

Colton lost Ellamara when he turned 14, right before getting into the Horne's home. It killed him. Ellamara was the only family he had left. The only person he felt that life was worth living for.

Xavier - This man is positively Colton's best friend. They met when Colton was eight, when they stayed in the same foster home. It wasn't really a... Suitable place to be around, and when Colton finally got out, he constantly went back to help Xavier. And as soon as he was in a stable environment, he was around Xavier. Even to this day, they are best friends. They even hope to get an apartment together when they're done with high school
Calysta - Colton and her met when he started high school here. She was... Different, and took to Colton instantly. They became very good friends, and they know they will be nothing more, for they both have too much in common. One being that they are both attracted to girls

Maxwell - Main jock of the school, Max has made Colton's life a living h*ll ever since he started living there. He felt intimidated by Colton, and became one of the biggest bullies in the school. Colton delt with it, and only sticks up for himself when Max takes things too far
Phillip - Although Colton's birth father is still in prison, that doesn't stop him from being Colton's number one enemy. He always finds a way to surprise his son, and not in a good way. It p*sses Colton off, but it also terrifies him. His father is not someone he wants in his life

🌹B A C K S T O R Y
Colton grew up in an environment that still gives him nightmares. He had an amazing mother, who did all that she could to give them a good home, but her husband wasn't... Good. He wasn't stable. He drank all day, and beat her all night.
Colton, even at a young age, spent a lot of time protecting his sister and struggling to protect his mother. It didn't work. When Colton and Ellamara reached the age of 5, their father took things too far, and ended up pushing their mother harder than he intended.

The impact to her head killed her, and Phillip was imprisoned for man-slaughter.
Colton and Ellamara were placed in the foster system, and even then Colton grew extra protective. They were never separated.
Most of the homes sucked, but Colton tried to keep his head up because he had Ellamara to take care of.
But that was until it all got too much for her. She killed herself, leaving nothing but a withered journal that Colton reads every night to try and understand why she just left him like that
However nearly 10 days later, he was introduced to Logan and Benny, a gay couple who had already fostered 13 other children and adopted 9 of them.
The rest is history

🌹N O T A B L E·E V E N T S
The death of his mother - Colton, Ellamara and their mother were all very close. And when they lost her, their entire life was flipped upside-down. Colton still hasn't really gotten over the death of his mother, even though he tries to everyday
The death of his sister - If Colton was close with his mother, then he was attached to his sister. They were twins, he'd always been there for her. They'd never had anyone other than each other after their mother passed away. After her death, he lost himself. And he still hasn't been able to find that piece
Meeting Logan and Benny - His foster fathers were his saving grace, even if he won't admit it. He really did loose himself after loosing his sister, and if Logan and Benny hadn't came in his life when they did, he doesn't know where he would be. Now that he has them, he has a home. A family. Somewhere he feels like he belongs

Insomnia - In Latin, somnia means "dreams". Insomnia simply means "no dreams". Colton has, ultimately, been through a lot. Like most people have. But he's lost a lot more than he's willing to admit. And when you lose so much, you tend to lose hope. Colton lost hope a long time ago, and in loosing his hope, he lost his dreams
