Backstory: He was there when society fell down the drain, and took control of those left alive to create a group of survivors to fight back. He made Kalei both their medic and second in command, putting trust in her that she would take care of their group if he ever died in action. They both ventured back to the past to stop the chain of events that had caused the future to be like it is, though not knowing what their looking for.
