Soul Eater;

The white haired boy sat at his desk as he waited for a certain someone to enter class. But once the bell rang, she never walked in.

'Another day of school... and on her birthday...'

He let out a sad sigh as he looked down, picking up the small box in his pocket with an ocean blue ribbon to match her eyes placed upon the top. He put the box back in his pocket as he looked at the door, hoping she would walk in, but no.

When class finally ended, he left his stuff with his partner, along with school. He ran out to his bike, hopping onto it before he clicked it on with a rev and a roar of the engine. The orange beast rolled off as he drove it, heading stright to her house. Once he had arrived, all he could hear were soft, muffled cries, like, someone was being beaten to death.

He ran to the door, worriedly rapping his knuckles against the front door. Thoughs cries imediately stopped as loud foot stomps made there way to the door. After a few moments, a large male stood in front of the white headed teen. His electric blue eyes gazed down in hatered as his eldest daughter came up behind the large man.

"Soul, why are you here?" The mature woman asked as she motioned her father back to his office. Once he was gone, she gave Soul a worried looked as she leaned forward and whispered in his face, "She's down stairs. Go in through her bedroom window and get her out of this house now. Please."

Soul nodded as he ran around the side of the house, climbing down into the small pit that had been dug out in front of that under ground window. He peered into the dark room, seeing that girl he was searching for laying helplessly on the floor next to her bed. He carefully pushed the window open, trying to not make a single sound, before slipping into the large, dark room.

"S-Soul..." The mint haired girl sniffled as she looked upbat him with weak, helpless eyes. Soul kneeled down beside her, looking over alk of her injuries. A tugginvg pain struck his chest as he pulled her closer to him. He rested his nose in her ratted hair, craddling her gently in his arms.

"Shh... its gonna be okay... I've got'cha..." He whispered in her ear before a knock at the window got Soul's attention. He looked over to see his parter from school with worried eyes, staring down at him. He looked down at Keynna before he carefully picked her up, trying not to hurt her anymore.

"Soul... I-I'll be okay... j-just get me out of h-here..." The girl in his arms placed her bloody hand on his cheek as he carried her to the window. The brunette opened it up, taking Keynna and pulling her out of the house. Soul looked around, grabbing a bag and anything that looked important -  clothes, her notebook, and that black jewelery box she hid under her pillow.

Once having the bag slightly filled, he ran back to the window and climbed out. He dug his way from the ditch and ran back to his bike, climbing on and taking Keynna into his arms. His partner clmibed onto the back, wrapping her arms around Keynna to help hold her while Soul drove.

Soul started up the bike as the front door swung open. Their eyes shot open as the angry man raced out. The bike took off, headed stright across town to get away from that horrible man.

"Soul, lets get her home." Maka said as she held the poor girl closer to herself through Soul. He nodded and he drove to their apartment. Opening up the garage, he parked his bike around the few other vehicals. Maka took her things while Soul grabbed Keynna.

The two took her up to their apartment. Maka got the medical kit and handed it to Soul. He sat Keynna in he kitchen, beginning to ted to her injuries.

"Why... how did you know..." Keynna trailed off as she watched Soul's hands move with tender care. He looked up at her and smiled. Leaning up, he placed a small kiss on her busted lips, resting his forehead against her own.

"I'm your boyfriend... I'll always know... I'll always be there to save you..." He spoke gently, taking the bix out of his pocket. She carefully held it in her arms as he continued to fix up her body. She slowly began to open it. Her eyes sparkled as tears filled her eyes.

"Soul... I... I love you!" She winched in pain as sge leaped down into his arms, holding onto him. He fell back but wrapped his arms aroun her. Smiling, he grabbed the smaller of the two silver bands and slipped it onto her finger. She grabbed the other and slipped it onto his own.

"I promise, I'll always be there for you..." He whispered in her ear as he held her in his arms. She smiled as se nuzzled into his shoulder.

"I love you, Soul..." "I love you too, Keynna..."
