THE SLAYER BOOK AWARDS
The host said all "three" of my books were accepted, but I entered four: Ancilla, Wild Is the Wind: The Art of Ancilla, Excavations, and Morsels: Tales of Love and Passion.
I don't know if that means the host counted incorrectly, or if one of the books was not accepted. FWIW, there is a message near the end of the book that says "Everyone's accepted and I'm insanely busy" (or something like that) which I can certainly sympathize with!
(Grammarly keeps changing a word starting with "m" to discount. Grammarly is stupid, and I am seriously considering removing it from my embedded apps. At least Microsoft's spell checker only nags. Grammarly enforces via autocorrect. Control freak that I am, I hate that).
Here are the categories I think I might be competing in:
Ancilla - Romance, Most Unique Supernatural Power (my vampires have element-bending kisses!), Best Love Triangle
Morsels: Tales of Love and Passion - Short Story Anthology
Excavations - Poetry
Wild Is the Wind: The Art of Ancilla - Best Cover
UPDATE (1/1/25)
Ancilla got Second Place in Romance.
Excavations won First Place in Poetry and beat the book May Garner had entered. That last part is astonishing. May Garner is a professional published poet and has tens of thousands of followers on Wattpad. She is a Wattpad celebrity. Beating her in a competition is like beating Rupi Kaur.
Maybe I'm not as mediocre as I think I am.
