Pillow Pt. 1

So, this has a long backstory.

Over 3 years ago, my grandmother started to teach me how to cross-stitch. This was the piece she helped me start. I worked on it, but soon everything halted;
My grandmother had gone into surgery, and had a stroke. She was paralyzed completely on her left side, and now, close to three years later, is still dependent on my grandfather for everything after going through more surgery and another stroke.
So, one day late last year, my parents and I had gone over to visit. I went into another room, remembering this piece was still there, and brought it home. Now, months after I began again, it's finally finished.

After thinking about what I planned to do with it, I got an idea.
I'd make my grandmother a pillow.
So now, I've begun a second piece (I had about 6 of the same piece in total; the original intent was for it to become a quilt).
And what makes it worth the work?

Seeing the smile on her face when I show her what progress I've made. Honestly, it's enough to make me cry, because I know that she can't continue doing this.
Actually, my mother and I went over a few weeks ago, and found a Precious Moments piece she had started, but never got to finish...yeah, seeing that about made me cry as well.

Anyways, ending the emotional rant, wish me luck. I want to get the second piece done soon, so we can have a family friend help us sew and stuff it.
^-^
