Cinder-Karma Part 1

Once upon a time, there lived a couple  who was rich beyond their wildest dreams. The couple had only one child, a young boy with creamy white skin, with beautiful red hair and sunset golden eyes.

They lived as a happy family at first, the young master had everything his  heart could desire. But tragedy fell upon the family when the mistress died of unknown causes.

His father however, soon remarried to a younger, more beautiful woman. This woman already had two children, one green haired girl and one blue haired boy.

His father doted upon his new wife and step children.

The red head's step siblings were mean, and treated him poorly, jealous of his beauty and charm. He wasn't one to let anyone walk all over him though, he was quick to get revenge on his step siblings and sometimes his step mother too, for mistreating him.

They called him 'Karma', because of his bad deeds to them. This wasn't his real name, but he liked it so much that he asked his father to legally change it to the nickname he was given.

Karma waged war upon his step siblings. Secretly mixing wasabi in their food or squeezing lemons in their tea, his father would punish him for it though, but Karma thought it was all worth it.

One year after the remarriage of his father to that woman though, his father died while on an expedition.

Karma was the sole heir, but to his shock his father changed his will and made his step siblings, Kaede and Nagisa, his heirs.

His step mother, Irina, was very thrilled. But the problem was, the money left on the will wasn't enough to last them ten years. So Irina fired all staff to save money, and made Karma the new servant who will do all their cooking, sewing, and cleaning.

The still grieving red head did as he was told without complaint, he was on their beck and call. Karma has lost his spirit after the death of his father, only one left to remind him of his happy childhood. Now gone. And he is left alone.

Now, as the years go by Karma grew to become even more beautiful. Nagisa and Kaede made sure to give Karma the most difficult and dirtiest of work to hide Karma's beauty, hoping to stain him. Much to their disdain, Karma remained better looking than them in everyway.

"KARMA!!!!"

The red head rolled out of bed when he heard the shrill cry of one of his step siblings.

He walked over to the pipes and called out. "Yes!"

"WHERE'S MY MORNING TEA KARMA?!" Kaede angrily screamed from the pipes. Karma winced and rubbed his ear. "I-I'll get to it right away" Karma assured.

Getting dressed, the red head left his room. He slept in the cold basement, with the mice for company.

Putting on an apron he set out to do his work, making tea for the young mistress Kaede.

On his way to the kitchen however he heard Nagisa screaming. "KARMAAAA!!! WHERE'S MY BLUEBERRY PIE?!!"

"On it!" Karma promised as he started running to the kitchen.

The red head worked in a frenzy, baking the pie while trying to make tea at the same time.

While he was running around the kitchen, he also had to deal with his step siblings' screamings coming from the pipes.

"KARMA HELP ME WITH MY MAKE UP AFTER!"

"KARMA GO GET MY NEW DRESS FROM THE TAYLOR'S SHOP!"

"KARMA!"

"KARMA!!"

By the time he was done Karma was already exhausted, and it was only the begging of the day.

When Karma arrived at Kaede's room, the green haired girl threw a pillow at him, which the red head skillfully dodged. "Seriously?! I've been waiting for hours Karma! How long does it take you to make tea?! I can do it with my eyes closed!" She huffed, crossing her arms.

"Then next time do it yourself" Karma remarked. That earned him a glare from her. "Watch your tongue red head! Mother will hear of this insolence!" She threw a book at the red head who, once again, dodged.

He set the tea on the table and was about to leave but

"The tea won't walk towards me, and I can't reach them" Kaede pointed at the tray.

Karma walked over, grabbed the tray, and delicately placed them on the bed.

He ran out of the room just as the green haired girl  grabbed the cup and threw it at him, missing and smashing against the wall instead.

Next was Nagisa.

When Karma arrived at the room, he was greeted with a chilling glare. "About time! I was starving!" Nagisa complained as Karma placed the tray with the pie on it.

Nagisa poked the pie, before taking a fork and cutting it, and then took a bite. Nagisa spat out the pie, picked it up, and threw it at Karma. Karma ducked quickly and the pie hit the mirror behind him.

"IT'S COLD!" Nagisa yells. "Now my appetite is ruined! I'm telling mother!"

And so, Karma spent his entire day getting yelled at by his siblings, and having to fulfill their ridiculous demands.

Irina praised her children for their mistreatment on Karma, and scolded and ridiculed the red head for everything he did.

By the end of the day, Karma was so tired that as soon as he escaped to his room in the basement, he collapsed on the floor and slept there, further dirtying his face and clothes.

He hadn't even had time to bath in days.

He was tired, he smelled disgusting, and as much as he wanted to get up from the floor and to his bed, he just couldn't find it in him to move anymore.

"KARMA!!!! GO OUTSIDE AND GET FLOWERS FOR US!!" Karma's eyes shot open and he sat up.

The small window showed it was already morning. But Karma felt that he barely even slept last night. "WE'RE HAVING A SELF PORTRAIT TODAY!!!"

Karma glared hatefully at the pipes, before forcing himself to stand up and leave the basement.

As soon as he stepped foot outside the mansion however, Karma ran to the forest with tears in his eyes.

Perhaps, it's a good thing that his step family treats Karma so poorly. Because if Karma hadn't ran into the forest crying that day....

He would never have met, the prince.
