review: THIS BOOK IS TOO PERFECT!
Not joking. Every single word in this book is absolute perfection!
I'll give you something to grab on... I'm a person who anotates their books, like, with page markers and little notes on the side. And within 444 pages (substract the pictures and chapter pages) I have placed 129 page markers. Sometimes including multiple pages. Meaning one quarter to one third of this book is just absolute gold and the rest in between is also georgeus. I litterally cried twice during the last hundred pages.
But seriously, you shouldn't read this until you're sure you can deal with it, bc at the end it gets really scary and I'm not sure, if I'll get crazy dreams about devils and cellars with bodies.
Every single character in this is so well written: (spoilers from here on)
ofc, the maincharacters
Audrey Rose is so badass and so adorrable and just argh! But she's not perfect in a bad sence. At one point she just goes completely insane and I loved it, bc it showed her darkness so well.
All in all the topic 'good and evil within humans' is so georgeusly written. They all have something they fight for and are passionate about and would kill for.
Thomas Cresswell is just being Thomas Cresswell - loving his gf, being protective, but still giving her the freedom she wants, being super supportive, being the best brother ever, the best feminist in the whole of creation and at the same time a great mind you don't wanna mess with and ofc loving everything that's made of sugar.
And then there are the equally brilliant side characters:
Mrs. Harvey (eventough she didn't have as much text as in the last two parts), who is sweet as always
Liza, who is just the queen of romance and will fight anyone to protect her cousin.
Daciana, who is just as hot and clever as her brother. And protecting her - also super sweet - gf.
Also Audrey Roese's Grandmama is just the ultimate girlboss and you shouldn't get on her bad side, bc she will write the queen and end you.
And last but deffinetly not least. Uncle Jonathan, who deserves so much respect for babysitting Cressworth all the time and dealing with their stuff. While also doing his job and being a great teacher for AR and a father for Thomas.
And again - i thinnk i mentioned it before - the references to the previous books are so good. Even if it's just the slightest side note, it is likely to be related to the other books, which I, as a really attentive reader, absolutely adore.
next: i think, i need some very easy-to-read romance now, bc my mind is still blown. So I guess I'll read something like the hating game or spanish love deception or see whether I can find something appealing on spotify.
