"Babies, we are home!!!" Madhu shrieked getting super excited of bring their babies to their home for the first time.
"Voice down. You are startling them, Madhu" Rishab said feeling his little girl jerk in his arms hearing her momma shriek.
"Oops! Sorry" she said and stuck out her tongue childishly.
"Grow up, kiddo" He teased his wife.
Madhu pouted her lips.
"Come, I will show our kids room"
"You decorated it?" Madhu asked surprised.
"Yep!"
"When?"
"Last weekend"
"Oh. You got soft toys and cloths for our baby girl?" She asked though she knew he would have.
"Yeah. I did but only little. I didn't get much time. We should go shopping later and get more stuff for her just like we got for our son."
"Good thing we didn't paint the room all boyish." Madhu couldn't stand the smell of paint when she was pregnant so she didn't let him paint the walls.
"Yeah!" He suddenly frowned. "Did you know the other baby's gender at the time when you stopped me from painting the nursery blue?"
"No, I didnt, I swear. And that's one of the reasons why I didn't let you paint. I was secretly hoping the other baby was a girl."
"Oh" he believed her.
"What color you have finalized and painted?" She asked. "I hope it's some neutral color" she added.
"You will see" he held her arm to drag her to their babies' room. He was too excited to show it to her and hoped she would appreciate his effort.
"Wait. Before that I have an important thing to do"
"What?" He asked with a frown almost guessing what it was. Fishes?
"Bring her here, Rishab." She ordered when he stood at a distance holding his daughter. Reluctantly he walked closer to the fish tank fixing his eyes on his daughter.
"Babies (fishes), meet my babies" she said and looked down at her son. He yawned cutely and turned his face away from the fish tank, disinterested and shut his eyes feeling sleepy.
"That's like my boy" Rishab grinned proudly.
"That's like my girl" Madhu matched his proud grin because their daughter was trying to reach the fish tank by stretching her little hand. She had her eyes transfixed on it.
"Enough! Let's go see their room and put them to sleep on their new crib" Rishab said not liking his daughter getting attached to fishes. When he turned away she started crying.
"Rishab, don't make her cry" Madhu chided him. He looked at her in disbelief. What wrong he did that made his daughter cry? He wondered.
"Don't take her away from her friends"
"What?" He yelled. He couldn't stay forever holding his daughter near the fish tank, could he?
"Voice down! You are startling our babies" she threw his words back at him. He rolled his eyes.
"These stupid fishes are her friends?" He made a face.
"You better take your son and go to the room. I will give my daughter a proper introduction to her friends. She didn't even know her friends' names" Madhu said and quickly exchanged the babies. Rishab shook his head and took his son to his room. Rishab didn't want his son to sleep before seeing his room which he painstakingly decorated.
"Baby darling, this is Jelly, that's Pinky..." Madhu pointed to her fishes and her daughter looked at them with a gleem of awe in her eyes and Madhu's voice faded when Rishab got into the room and shut the door by kicking it slowly with his legs.
"I will tell you a little secret son. Your momma is crazy and now she is making your sister a crazy too" his son stared at him for few seconds and yawned again.
"Lazy boy! Always sleeping like your momma." He chided. "God! My kids didn't take after me in anything apart from my dimples." He grunted.
"Did you just call my son lazy?" Madhu asked from behind making him jump.
"Yeah, so what? He only knows to sleep, eat and cry... so typical like you"
"Don't be ridiculous. What else a newborn baby will do other than sleep, eat and cry? Oh don't tell me you are expecting him to throw and shoot" she mocked him.
"You like the room?" He asked changing the topic. Madhu looked around and gasped audibly. The room was beautifully decorated. The walls were painted in turquoise color. Both the wooden cribs were painted in white. The changing table, dresser and two seater sofa were also in white. But the two heart shaped cushions neatly placed on the sofa and fur carpet were in turquoise color. The curtains were white with small sea blue floral prints. Two butterfly dreamcatcher were hung above their babies' cribs and the room was stuffed with lots of stuffed toys.
Madhu held her baby girl securely with one hand and knelt down on the floor to touch the carpet with her other hand. "Aww... It's so soft" Madhu wished to curl herself on the carpet and take a nap.
"Rishab, I love this room so much. Can we move into this room and shift our kids' cribs and stuffs to our room?" She asked giving her husband puppy eyes. Rishab laughed and shook his head in no.
"This is not fair! Not at all fair, Rishab. You never did anything 'sweet' like this to me" she complained like a small kid.
"Aw! C'mon! I am sure I made 'sweet' love to you and see now we are having the result of our sweet love making in our hands" he said with a smirk and kissed his son's cheek and inhaled his sweet baby sent.
"Shut up! I am not talking about our sweet lovemaking." She said blushing. "You never did things to please me"
"Liar! Didn't I often cook your favorite foods? Didn't I catch a fish for you in our semi-honeymoon trip?" She glared at him when he brought the honeymoon topic. It wasn't a honeymoon trip but a secret mission dammit. She shouted in her head. "Didn't I get your favorite watch for Valentine's Day? Didn't I pamper you when you were pregnant? Didn't I give you two kids just because you wished for?" He stopped when Madhu shot him a deadly glare.
"You have been keeping counts on what all you did to me?" She asked as she stood up.
"No... I... I am just telling..." He stutter.
Sometimes his wife can scare him. Funny right?
She took a step closer to him and he took a step back.
"Don't worry! I am just going to kiss you, husband" she said to stop him backing away from her. Phew!
He grinned and leaned forward puckering his lips.
"Close your eyes..." He did before she could finish "...babies"
"Oh" he opened his eyes and looked down at their babies in their arms.
But the little brats refused to close their eyes and stared at their parents with full interest.
"Let's put them in their crib and kiss" Rishab suggested and quickly ran to the crib on the left side and gently placed his son down in it comfortably.
When he turned around Madhu was already waiting for him, tapping her foot impatiently.
Did she throw my baby girl in the crib in a hurry? He frowned and looked over her shoulder.
Nah! His baby was properly placed and covered.
Good mommy!
Quick wifey!
He slipped his hand behind her back and jerked her forward.
He removed a strand of hair from her face and tucked it behind her ear and slowly trailed his fingers down her soft spot behind her ears and then cupped her cheeks.
She snaked her hands over his chest and wrapped them around his neck and pulled him closer.
They slowly started nibbling each other's lips and was about to deepen their kiss when they heard both their babies cry making them jumb back.
"Seriously Madhu, they have something against our romance!" He said kinda annoyed. "And how do they know we were kissing? Are they fitted with some kind of chip that alerts them whenever we romance?"
"How do I know that, ACP Sir?" She asked innocently. "It's you who always deal with bugs and tracking chip. So you should tell whether your kids have any strange built-in anti-romancing chip or not" she said batting her eyes, disarming him.
"I guess they are but we will wait and see. If they interrupt our romance next time then I will give my vedict. Now, go they need your attention" he released her from his grip. "I will go prepare dinner for us" he said and walked out of the room.

"Rishab..." Madhu back hugged him and placed her face on his shoulder.
"What?"
"I like our babies' bedroom..." She started but he cuts her off.
"Madhu, if you wish you design our room just like theirs but I am not going to change our babies' room" he said with finality.
You design? He won't do that for me? If I ask he will say 'I am busy, Madhu' ... Why is he being partial to me? She thought pouting. Well she wasn't here to talk about the room but something else.
"It's not about that. I like there room so much and I wanted to thank you for doing that neat job. Thank you" she said and kissed his cheek. "And I am also thinking we should better stay here in our apartment..."
"Why? You said you will need my mother's help right?"
"Yeah but... After seeing the effort you have taken to make our kids' room ready... I feel they should be here and get acquainted to such beautiful ambience"
"Hmm... How about we spend the weekdays in our parents' place and weekends here in our home?" He suggested.
"Brilliant idea" she pecked his lips.
"What are you cooking?"
"Roti and Aloo Sabji"
"Cool"
"You fed them?"
"No. They weren't hungry. I don't know for what they cried." She shrugged.
That left little doubt that their kids were against their romance.
"What are they doing now then?"
"They are staring the ceiling and crooning" she laughed. "I was confused not knowing with whom I should play so left them there and came here to give you company"
"You have the baby monitor with you right?"
"Oh shit! I forgot" she said and quickly ran back to her babies' room.
"Awwie! My cutie pies." She adored her kids. She decided to put them both to sleep before her husband was done with cooking dinner.
She pulled both the cribs together and looking down at her babies and patting their tummies she started singing.
~~ "...With a butterfly kiss,
and a ladybug hug,
sleep tight my little hearts,
like a bug in a rug" ~~
Rishab watched his beautiful wife singing sweetly to his kids leaning on the jab of the door, crossing his arms.
"How easily she adapted to this role of being a mother?" He wondered in awe. He never had any complains with his 'wife' Madhu because she always made him happy by caring and loving him unconditionally but this 'mother' Madhu was exceptionally amazing.
"Madhu, I love you" he couldn't resist but hug her tightly from behind and whisper his love to her. "I love you so much."
"What's wrong, husband?" She teased him as she titled her head and kissed his neck.
"It's true, right?"
"What?" Madhu asked him looking down at her sleeping beauties.
"That a baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, savings smaller and a home happier?"
She laughed and nodded her head in yes. "Yeah so true. For us everything is doubled because we have doubles" she said happily and leaned her head back on his chest.
"Thanks, darling for giving them to me. The love and respect I have for you just got tenfold intensified"
"Rishab, now you are embarrassing me" she said shyly though she felt so blissful hearing his flowery words and her eyes started watering.
"Alright, come, let's go have our dinner" he held her hand and walked her out to the dinning hall.

Madhu quickly set the table for two while he garnished his aloo sabji.
"Put some ghee on your roti, Madhu" he said as he passed her the ghee bowl.
"Nah, I will put weight. I wanna lose this baby fat as soon as possible" she said shaking her loose belly. He shook his head but didn't comment on it.
She tore a piece of roti, dipped it in the sabji and was about to place it on her mouth when they heard their baby's cry.
She dropped the piece of roti back on the plate and quickly washing her hands she rushed to her babies room.
After two minutes she walked back to the dining room.
"So soon?" Rishab asked.
"Just changed the nappy"
"Oh. He or she?"
"He"
"Okay. Sit and eat. Before she cries..." He didn't even finish his sentence but they heard another angry cry as it was so loud. "Why they both are peeing or pooping at the same time?"
"Mostly twins are like this only ah, your mom told me" she said. He nodded.
After changing her baby girl, Madhu walked back and sat on the chair. By now Rishab was half done with his food.
She took the left piece of roti and brought it closer to her mouth but again she was interrupted by her babies.
"I will go check them" Rishab said.
"No, they must be hungry. I will go" she sighed and put the roti back on the plate and ran to the room.
When she came back to dining room after fifteen minutes, Rishab was done eating and washing his plate.
"You fed them?"
"No. I only fed our son. Our daughter was sleeping"
"Eat before she starts cryi..." And she started crying before Rishab could finish his sentence yet again. Madhu sadly looked at her food. She was so hungry but her babies weren't letting her eat.
"At least eat that one piece and tell me how's it?" He asked. "I want to know you like my aloo sabji."
She glared at him.
"What?" He asked innocently.
"Here I am dying in hunger but all you care about is your sabji?" She shouted. "You want to know how it tastes right?" She popped the piece of roti in her mouth and barely chewed it before barking "It tastes like crap!" She said and marched to her babies' room angrily but her anger evaporated seeing her little princess wailing in hungry.
"Oh sweetie, momma is here. Stop crying." She picked up her baby girl in her arms, walked to the sofa and settled herself on it and then opening her shirt buttons, she latched her baby's mouth to her boobie.
She leaned her head back on the sofa and closer her eyes as her baby suckled her.
"Eat" she opened her eyes and turned her to her side. She smiled seeing her husband kneeling down on the floor with a food plate in his hand and offering to feed her.
She felt guilty for shouting at him and saying his sabji tasted like crap.
"I am sorry. Your sabji really tasted good." She said giving him an apologetic smile.
"It's okay." He forgave her and smiled back at her. "Eat now" he stretched his hand with a small piece of roti closer to her mouth.
She opened her mouth and let him feed her.
"Husband, thanks"
"You are feeding our babies and I am feeding you. Simple. What's there to thank me?" He asked with a smile.
"Then... Husband, I love you" she said, blushing.
"Ahaan! This line I accept, always" he said giving her a dazzling smile and continued feeding her.
