"Kai where are you?" A short and slightly pudgy girl asks, a small cat trotting alongside her.

"Yes, where are you?" The cat, named Light'Star, meowed.

A bird, who had previously been flying covertly in the rafters, flew down and transformed into a human.

"Right here," says a tall kid with short sage green hair with a grin.

"Hey guys," Light'Star says. "I saw this cool book in the library yesterday, wanna go check it out sometime?"

"Sure!" Says Kai readily. "Why not!"

The shorter girl, Casey, sighs.

"I guess," she says. "I feel like I'm gonna regret that later."

Casey hurriedly checks her watch.

"Oh no!" She exclaims. "We're gonna be late for potions!"

"Come on then!" Says Light'Star, trotting forward to lead the way.

After only a few seconds of hurried walking, Casey's bag splits, books tumbling to the floor.

"Oh for Pete's sake!" Sighs Kai, bending down to help Casey pick them up. "We're already gonna be late!"

"Oops!" Squeaks Casey, who was grabbing books as well.

Light'Star stood to the side, an annoyed expression on his face.

Kai hands Casey a new bag to put her books in, and once everything is settled, they sprint to the dungeons.

They get there at the final peel of the bell.

"Sit. Down," says Professor Snape without even turning to look.

"Yes professor!" Says Kai, hurrying towards a seat in the back and pulling Casey along with them.

About five minutes into class, Casey leans over and whispers to Kai.

"This is really boring," she whispers.

"I know, but we have to listen so we don't fail," Kai whispers back.

"Ten points from Gryffundor, Miss Sullivan," Snape says, turning to stare at Casey, who admittedly did whisper louder than Kai.

Ten minutes later, they get distracted by Light'Feather slamming headfirst into the dungeon wall.

"Dang it, I thought it was a window," he muttered.

"Light'Feather!" Casey scolds.

Snape turns around briskly. "Ten more points from Gryffindor! Do not make it fifty Miss Sullivan!"

"Geez, cool off hothead," Casey mutters.

"MISS SULLIVAN DO NOT MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR YOURSELF," Snape snaps.

"Sorry Professor!" Casey squeaks.

At about halfway through class, Kai's cauldron explodes when they add the wrong ingredient.

Light'Star stifles a laugh.

"Oh be quiet," Kai grumbles, cleaning it up.

The rest of class passes without much incident, but at ten minutes until the end of class, Light'Star speaks up.

"I'm leaving!" He says, "because I hate you and how you treat people Snape!"

He turns to leave, but before he can, Casey grabs him.

After Light'Stars statement, the class is 'Oooooh'ing and 'Daaaaannnnnggggg'ing.

They manage to get through potions class without getting detention, and then trek towards  Care Of Magical Creatures.

This chapter may or may not be finished rn but i have writers block and wanna put it out there for you guys to see :)
