Chapter 7

Erick thought about his dream. It had scared him almost to death. Was it a sign of things to come? Was sit he future? No...it was too...Erick shuddered. The pure thought of it made him shudder.
Erick was tumbling down some sort of hole. It was covered in dirt, which made him believe it was below ground. He tried grabbing a wall, but his attempts were in vain as he clawed at the earth. He started thinking it was the end. Erick shut his eyes, waiting for get ground to hit. Suddenly, he heard someone calling his name.
"Erick? Erick? Are you okay?"
There stood a girl with blonde hair. She looked like a supermodel. "Erick, are you okay? X-Gene wanted me to see if you were okay...you've been standing there for ages!"
Erick wanted to say something, but he was simply a spectator. "I'm sorry Mabell." He other Erick said. "I was thinking...how are we to stop Drea when we hardly get along with the none hybrids? Why not befriend them or something like that?"
Mabell frowned. "Erick, I know your cousin is there, but we can't let them, you know, hurt us. My half brother wants you, something about helping him figure out how to get a girl. He thinks your good at it."
"Why can't you call Matrix by his normal name? I know that you are partially werewolf, and you didn't grow up with him, but he's still your full brother."
"I know...having a twin is so weird though...besides, he dislikes me, I know it."
"He does not dislike you, alright?"
Mabell frowned again. Fine, whatever you say, Erick."
Mabell had said his name with disgust and annoyance. Erick watched himself frown. Then, he was tumbling though the tunnel again.
Erick tried to grab on again, but failed. A piercing pain went through his body. Suddenly, he was at a battle scene. Someone was shaking someone who looked like Erick. Erick had an arrow through his right side. "Erick!" The person said in a male voice. "Please! I know death seems great, but not now!"
The Erick on the battle field gasped for air. Suddenly, a bloody and injured Farrow came running up. "Alright, this is gonna hurt bud."
Farrow grabbed the shaft of the arrow and started pulling. Erick felt the pain of it shooting through his body, shocking his nerves. Erick felt tears come to his eyes. How the one on the battlefield wasn't crying was beyond him.
Erick sighed as Farrow rubbed some sort of cream on it. The pain started to relive itself, and then Farrow poured some healing potion down Erick's throat. The other Erick opened his eyes. Erick felt his brain go haywire. His eyes weren't green anymore. They were almost a grayish color. Erick had seen that color eyes before. They were the eyes of a blind person. Erick started biting his fingernail. He gulped. He other Erick sat up. "Thank goodness!" The other boy said.
"Hamlet, I'm fine," the other Erick croaked. "just shaken up."
Hamlet sighed. "Don't scare us into thinking your dead! Your our leader!"
Erick coughed. "What's a blind leader good for? I'm saying Matrix should take my position."
"And I said no." Matrix said, walking over. "Team leader was something I once wanted, but now, all I want is to end Drea. She turned you blind. She had he daughter tortured because she helped you escape prison. I'm pretty sure she deserves to die."
Erick felt himself falling. He was in the tunnel again. Suddenly, he was standing in front of a marvelous women, clothed in red velvet and draped in jewelry worth more than Erick's whole life. The woman smiled a false smile. He instantly realized this was Drea. Standing in front of her was a man, who looked oddly like the merchant he had gotten the table from.
"Nicholas, did you sell the cursed item?"
"You mean the table?" Nicholas said in a monotone voice.
"Yes you dimwit." Drea said. "Did you give it to a random person?"
"I gave it to a random elf, yes."
Drea's eyes filled with anger. "I wanted it to somehow get to Maxwell, not to an elf."
Nicholas frowned. "You told me to give it off, do I gave it to an elf outside of the town. He was mere,y fifteen at most. He was quite kind in fact. Oddly, he smelled like magic."
Drea's eyes fluttered. "Magic you say? Hmm..."
Erick again was tumbling down the hole. He made no attempt to grab the walls. He closed his eyes, not walking up someplace else. Erick turned over. He was right over the ground. He closed his eyes, and as soon as he touched the ground, he sat up in bed, panting. Matrix was up and looking at him. Erick attempted to reassure him that he was fine. He hoped it had worked.
After giving Matrix the drink and him falling asleep, Erick had walked out of the tent. He had been careful to step over Vladimir and Farrow, courtesy to not wake them up.
Erick stepped into the cold night. The embers of the fire glowed softly, and we're about to die. Erick blew on them until a flame kept up yet again. He walked to the edge of the woods and grabbed some sticks form the edge. Something about the woods made Erick nervous. Shaking his head, he chastised himself for thinking such a foolish thing.
Erick placed the kindling in the flame and watched it grow larger. Sighing, he looked toward the river. Feeling compelled to go to it, he watched small, luminescent creatures swim about. He watched as a group of salmon swam through it, nice and slow. Erick looked around for setting to catch them with. He noticed a spear and a bucket. He grabbed the spear and placed the bucket next to him.
Erick aimed the spear and brought it down. He pulled up two fish, each squirming, trying to live more. He placed them in the bucket, then speared two more. Erick then stood up and walked over to the fire.
Erick pulled out a knife and started gutting the fish. After they were clean and free of things you couldn't eat, he put the meat on the spear and held it over the fire.
Erick thought of his dream while he cooked. Drea knew he existed. She was to turn him blind. She was to torture his cousin just for helping hm escape. He was to battle them, somehow, along the way. He was to be he leader of a group, with peel named Mabell and Hamlet. Erick sighed. He looked down at the fish. He turned them over.
Once Erick finished the fish, he gulped one of them down quickly, then moved on to the next one. He pulled out his bag and grabbed seasoning. Now, he was going to be a more polite eater, thanks to his stomach not being as starving as before.
Once Erick seasoned the fish, he gulped the other two down, much to his antics. Erick sighed happily, then went to go get some water. As Erick put the cup in the water, the water turned warm. Erick pulled his hand up quickly. He felt the blood rushing to his cheeks and roaring in his ears. Nervously, he backed away. Suddenly, the water started glowing a bright gold color. Erick fell on hi butt and tried to back up, but his limbs felt like jelly.
A woman with blue hair appeared out of the water. She had crystal blue eyes, and wore a draped blue dress. The dress has mixtures of green, teal, and soft salmon in it. She smiled at him. "Erick, don't be scared."
Erick frowned. "How do you know my name, miss...?"
"Malifia."
Erick felt his heart rate increase. The leader of the water creatures...here? Why?
"Umm, did you come to see your son Ms. Malifia?"
Malifia shook her head. Erick noticed water droplets drip out of her blue earrings. They were shaped like blue crystals and were flowing.
"Erick, I came here for you. The magical kingdom leader wishes to meet with us again, over the subject of the meeting table vanishing."
Erick frowned. "Why would she care?"
"She says that a elf stole the table, from one of her merchants. However, Wix, Woody, and I know you did not steal it."
"Why would she say that though? And how do you know?"
Malifia smiled. "You are a special person Erick. You are the next leader for both the Elven and Magical kingdoms. You can heal the world by getting the leaders children to accept each other. You've already succeeded by getting the bonds between the werewolf and fairy beyond murder."
Erick felt confused. "Hmm? What do you mean?"
"Matrix and Farrow."
"They're, um, friends?"
"Friendly enough. Farrow fed Matrix, something his father wouldn't approve of. Both their fathers."
"Ms. Malifia?"
"Yes, Erick?"
"Shouldn't you be fighting a war?"
Malifia's face screwed up in concentration. "War...hmm...war...oh, yes! The war between the enemies, correct?"
"Yes. Shouldn't you be helping you side?"
"I haven't joined it yet. Drea, as we learned is her name, thanks to you, is doing most of the work, excluding us three."
"So, you guys don't believe in Drea's methods?"
"Of course not, Erick. By the way, I want to tell you something about your mother."
"What is it?"
"Your mother was one of the rare prophetic magical users."
"Um, prophetic?"
"She was able to see into the future. After her siblings died, however, she lost most of her ability. She did, however, pass it down to you."
"Wait, you mean I can see the future?"
"Yes. Most times you see it when you sleep or black out. Most describe it as 'falling through a dark tunnel and then waking up in one scene, until we hit the ground. Once we hit he ground, we wake up.'"
Erick felt blood roar in his ears. Wasn't that just his dream? "Um...is it a for sure future?"
"Most of the time, it's certain."
Erick felt his face go pale. If it as almost certainly always true, then...was he to go blind? Erick swallowed. Malifia looked at him worryingly. "Erick, we've all made mistakes. I made my son into a hybrid, something I don't wish anyone to be, but I can't change the past, but you can change the future. We leaders, well, we've screwed the world up. Get your fellow people and go against Drea's army she's slowly forming, please. Woody is displeased with his own son for joining her. Anyways, I'll be off. Wix or Woody may come to visit in a couple days, just so you know. Be prepared, savior."
Malifia turned into water and sank into the river. Erick sat down. He stayed there for a couple hours before someone picked him up, and put him inside the tent. Erick swore he saw his mother doing it, but he was probably just tired. Erick drifted off to sleep, dreaming of before his mother died.
