I actually worked rather hard on this after discovering there was no stock whatso ever that really fit my main character and since I wanted her on the cover for now and photo editing realistic cat features is almost impossible if you also cant 3d model and render...I drew it.

First was the sketch , and mind you Im out of practice.

I did something new this time and shaded before coloring. While it looked cool ...I think coloring it actually did end up harder and maybe I'll do this last next time , and just shut off the other color layers while I do it so I can overlap the layers with the shaded one.

when I was finished coloring it I added words with my own handwritting but it Just didn't look good at all. as you can see below.

I did however keep it as my cover for a bit but after getting frustrated with it I tried to make several other covers with pictures with Pintrest instead of actually using photoshop stock Which is something I never do ...MAD at myself for that I started looking at people who make book covers but then I was like...No way Im giving up I just need to make my original picture look more like a book cover ...maybe its the color?

I change it up a bit so the colors are a bit less intense and I start to mess around with elements , spacing and font . In the progress here is an image I usd.

The rest was a layer of pink painted here and there with a soft brush on the "color" layer filter. It washed out a bit of the colors around.
