In the year 2040, twenty-one years after what we call Magna est Pollutio Vicis which is Latin for The Great Pollution Event. In 2019, something happened, some top secret experiment by all the earths countries called project Hades after the Ancient Greek prince of darkness. Some say it was weapons of mass destruction, some say it was karma, others say it was the hand of God. Whatever the cause, it rendered the Earth so polluted it became uninhabited and twenty-one years later the majority of the human race lives on space stations with the exception of the few brave souls that risk their lives and their fortunes to live on and establish colonies in the different planets and galaxies known to man.
The Intergalactic United Nations (IUN) is what's left on Earth's countries and they encourage everyone to pick a planet out of the Intergalactic Planet and Galaxy Datable and colonize the planet of your choosing.

What they don't tell you is how many qualifications and guidelines you have to meet to be accepted as a colonist, they don't tell you that you have to be at least twenty years old to be eligible. They don't tell you how many of your hard earned credits you have to give up. They certainly don't tell you that you have to be legally married to even be accepted into the program.
