The 10 Best Book Covers I've Ever Made

Now this is very exciting, after making over 90 book covers for stories that I might do in the future or for fun, I just have to make a list about my favorite covers and why.

I've made so many that I'm about to lose inspiration because of that, especially when it comes to the description of the covers.

Now that I've reached to 100 chapters in this book, I will count down the covers I made that are my favorite and for the reason why they are my favorite...

10. Games of Love (Kang Sae-Byeok X Male OC) #2

Yes I am a huge fan of Squid Game and that book's published if you wanna check it out, but the reason it's one of my favorite of the font. You know, I had to go online to find the Squid Game font so I can make the title and my username.

Although it's nothing too crazy and it's simple, I think I did a very good job on keeping it simple while using a Squid Game font for this cover.

9. This Is You (Meg Griffin X Male Reader)

Listen, there's been a lot of hate around Meg because in the show, she's bullied and been treated like shit so much that Seth McFarlen sees Meg as canon.

How does that make sense? She relates to me in every way possible because I've been bullied most of my life and I've fought back thanks to her perseverance.

Now, for the cover itself, I had to use the living room background, where in the beginning of the show, they watch something like, for example, "We now return to Game of Thrones... on BET", and then they would show the black version of the incest-dragon show that ended in 2019.

And Meg herself, I couldn't find a png that showed her crying because the internet doesn't let us have nice things, but I decided to not let that get to me and use the png I found instead. It still looks pretty cool to me.

8. Come As You Are (Mayu Iwatani X Male OC)

Mayu Iwatani is such a damn good wrestler and she knows how to wrestle like it's her retirement match now that a referee, after a match, sat on her head by accident while tending to her opponents.

For this cover, before Pride Month ended, I had to make it special because here's where it gets interesting: I learned before Io Shirai left for NXT back in 2018 and almost signed in 2017 but couldn't due to a broken neck, there were rumors speculating that Mayu and Io were in a relationship.

However, it wouldn't come true because Mayu was in dismay over that since, it's on YouTube, when Mayu turned heel and kissed Io, but it was "sucking out her soul", even though it was actually a kiss. Pretty good stuff there.

In a storytelling way no less, Mayu and some other female wrestler in Stardom were "in love", but in kayfabe. They said in interviews that they would look out for each other and Mayu said she'd be there for her while the other put her head on Mayu's shoulder.

She may be bi at first, according to some perverts, but it was only a storyline and nothing more because Mayu said it herself in an interview. I can't find it, but if I do, I'll let you know.

For the cover, I wanted to do something like that but with an OC that's inside a closet and is friends with Mayu. I learned that same-sex couples are acknowledged in Japan, but not same-sex marriage, so I wanted to make the cover mean something to the gay community and show that they're people too.

7. My Way (Jinny X Male OC)

I love this cover because it just looks so cool. We have Jinny in front while a graffiti Union Jack is in the background while a painted font is used.

"My Way" is taken from the song that first originated back in the mid 20th century, when Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett were still around, except Dean and Frank, but Tony's still alive even though he retired from performing last year, and that's when England's the Sex Pistols got their hands on the song and started making their own version of it.

Sid Justice, the lead singer of the group, sang the song and made it so iconic that it was used at the end of Goodfellas when the late great Ray Liotta talked about being a normal human being, and I quote, "I'm an average nobody. I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook", and then the song started playing, leading into what happened with his former group and the credits.

Here's the song and if you haven't watched "Goodfellas" yet, I suggest you do.

6. You Want It Darker (Io Shirai X Male OC) #1

All of you know I'm a huge fan of gangster movies and books and the Yakuza, to me, are a unique group. They might be the same as the Italian Mafia while they have honor in the group and they have so many rules as in to be a yakuza, but here's where things get interesting: you actually don't have to be Japanese to be a member of the Yakuza. It can be any type of race as long as anyone know their Japanese and they have total commitment.

Whereas Io Shirai, well, her current look with those red bangs in her hair and the black eyeliner she uses make her look like she's the daughter of a Yakuza boss. I had to go with that because she just has the perfect look to be a member and having no emotion behind those eyes while she's wrestling makes sense.

And not to mention I have Minoru Suzuki as the faceclaim for Io's father and the boss of Odate-Kai (a Yakuza gang in the story, by the way), just to make things interesting.

In the cover, I simply used Io's first heel PNGs and used a dark alley in Japan to make it mysterious and scary at the same time. And why did I have her not showing her back? I have a back tattoo planned out for her to have in the story.

The title, also, is taken from another song called "You Want It Darker" by Anita Lester, and I thought it was the perfect song to introduce the story.

Here's the song and if you haven't read the book yet, I suggest you do...

5. The Way I Am (The Ren Hosako Story)

This book is personal to me and, not that am I a reflection of Kai, I'm not, but I've met people who were autistic, who had dreams to be a success and I had met people who have ADD and ADHD and were autistic and they inspired me to create Kai.

I wanted to create an OC in the form of Kai Hosako, Kairi Sane's twin brother who's autistic in "Red Is For Love" (WE'LL GET TO THAT!) and is a unique wrestler. This is basically the prequel to that book and I wanted to make a cover that has a wrestling ring, the Japanese flag, and a picture of the autism puzzle pieces.

I thought this was one of my best because while there are some other autistic wrestling fanfics on wattpad, I wanted mine to stand out because of how unique Kai is as a wrestler and how he was able to succeed in the industry.

4. Remember (Raven X Male OC)

Yes, I'll admit, I'm a nerd for DC Comics and while Marvel has the best movies, I grew up watching and reading DC comic books and DC movies and I'll never stop being a DC fan. Sure, there were some DC movies that are bad, but I can't help but love them because, like I said, I grew up with this brand.

The only DC Comics movie I will never watch is Aquaman because of one blonde bitch who got successfully bombarded port and starboard by Captain Jack Sparrow and I'll leave it at that.

Anyway, back to the cover, I grew up watching the original Teen Titans from 2003 to 2006 because it was that show I'd watch when I get home from school.

I loved the show because they made it so relatable to kids, but when "Go!" came out in 2013, I watched one episode, and I was about to explode from the amount of cringe I saw in the first half of the episode. I thought I was done after that first half and I just stopped watching the show from that point on.

Recently, I was able to get the complete series of the original Teen Titans and I can watch it whenever I want because that helps forget that the new one exists.

With this cover, I wanted to keep the original plan: Irish OC, but I want to make it connected to "Teen Titans: Raven", a graphic novel, which I highly recommend you read, it's so good.

3. Sing For Me (Maki Itoh X Male OC) [REMAKE]

Sing For Me is basically an underrated story I've ever written and this cover is basically an updated version of the original cover I made for that story.

Maki Itoh, to me, is an interesting wrestler because she may be annoying to some people, but her work in the ring is solid as far as her gimmick goes. And as a person, she's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Her knowledge of vulgar English words is astounding, but also brilliant because if she runs into Chris Dickinson, a wrestler for NJPW, her first reaction would be "fuck you" because Dickinson is an asshole heel.

You can't deny the fact that while I have a Cuban OC and he's the adopted son of the Lucha Libre legend Konnan, but I know that when I remake this book, I'm definitely gonna have to something different with the storyline.

2. A Pirate's Treasure (Kairi Sane X Male OC) No. 4

A Pirate's Treasure is probably one of my favorites because I made an OC that had a samurai gimmick, but I had to change it a couple chapters later because I thought it was too gimmicky, so I borrowed bits and pieces from Minoru Suzuki and his older sister Asuka and named him Oshiro.

This one, I had to use the same background but use a different png of Kairi: same ring gear, different pose. I just thought Kairi holding onto her wrist as if she's ready for a fight just works because her gimmick is that she dressed like a pirate.

Definitely the second best cover, but that can't be compared to...

1. Red Is For Love (Io Shirai X Male OC) No. 3

Ah, yes, the cover where the cherry blossom background is so beautiful and Io Shirai with her red and black gear from her days at Stardom just works so well.

This cover is definitely my most favorite because of how dedicated I was to keep the png I originally had used and I didn't want to change much other than the background and the flag. I still wanted to keep the Japanese flag because in the original, you couldn't see the title so I had to elevate it a bit more by adding it in.

Io in that pose at the front was just perfect and I didn't want to change it at all, which was my main priority.

This story is probably my favorite Io Shirai book because of Kai. I just think I made that OC, not just fun, but cute because of his mannerisms and how he thinks before he acts. And not just Kai, but the title as well.

You remember in your childhood where you learn shapes and colors? That's the idea for the title because I'm autistic myself and I learned what colors are used for, like green is for the grass and trees or whatever. "Red Is For Love" is a reflection of that learning level and I wanted to keep it that way because it might sound rude when it's also teaching a young Kai what that color can mean.

Why did I name him Kai? "Kai" is a name I wanted to use because when it comes to kids with autism, they have adorable names like Allie, Maxwell, or Georgie. I had to choose "Kai" because it just sounds so cute and with his ring name "Ren", that's a samurai name and I wanted to keep it separate.

The idea of Ren Hosako as the wrestler and Kai Hosako as the person might sound lazy, but it actually works because it hides the man's real first name. Why'd you think I named him Kai and in the bio, have it talk about him meeting Masami for the first time, and her finding him adorable because of how he introduced himself to her and the way he talked with her?

From what I heard, Io Shirai is the sweetest wrestler outside the ring and is always kind to her coworkers, regardless of her goth look, which makes her all the more cute as I would make that story and this cover is my absolute favorite.

And that's my list, which cover do you find as your favorite? Let me know!
