Koji Suzuki, a lifelong friend of Motoko Kusanagi, is a former gang member, wanting to make his life better by joining the police academy and eventually, Section 9.

When Suzuki had joined the group, he and Motoko were able to catch up and talk about their goals.

Soon after a mission, dealing with some rookie terrorists, Motoko starts to feel attracted to Koji for some reason. What could it be?
