John "Johnny" James is the baby brother of wrestling legend Mickie James, who spent time in World Wrestling Network or WWN for training and a couple years before heading to IMPACT Wrestling to be around his angel of an older sister.

In 2022, after successful runs in IMPACT and GCW, Johnny arrives in NXT under the ring name "James Austin" and the fourth member of the group consisting of Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, and a cutie named Fallon Henley, or her real name Theresa Schuessler.
