Peter Jacobsen, a young English man, or non-Amish, has moved to the countryside in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to start fresh after a bad conflict with his family.

He decided to live near the Amish community, where, one day, he did a good deed for the leader of that community and he was allowed to visit them as much as he wanted.

While visiting one day, Peter meets a young lady named Mary Yoder, who was so beautiful in appearance that Peter started to fall for her, but he doesn't know about the rules of the Amish community because when he started to confess, she felt the same way.

After he was banned from the community, Mary and Peter would meet in secret, but the question remains: will the community find out?
