Fun Fact. My Oc, Kuraime Karasu, her:

Her original inspiration was NOT Akame, surprisingly. Yeah. This goes back all the way to when I was in 8th Grade, which was where I kinda started to watch Anime but I never fully saw Akame Ga Kill (both anime and manga), nor was I an Akame simp back then. There was someone before her.

Yep, you guys heard right. Raven was the gal I was most downbad for (and still kinda is to an extent). She was my #1. And... I mean, could you blame me? Look at her! She was such a badass in the cartoon and I loved her Arc in Season 4. I thought the fact that she has to keep her emotions in check otherwise her powers will go haywire was cool. I found the fact that she's half demon cool. I especially loved the 6th episode from Season one where Beast Boy and Cyborg went into her mind and got to meet with ALL of her other personalities. Happy Raven, Brave Raven, Timid Raven and more, yeah I fucking loved that episode and it was the first time we got to see White Raven, until Season 4. And then we got her VA, Tara Strong. She did SUCH a good job as Raven. 

Also, I was obsessed with cloaks back in the day, so that's also a plus.

And of course, yes, I was... to put it lightly, absolutely drooling over her outfit. I think my thing for gals in leotards, thicc thighs and cake started with her.

So yeah, when I was starting to write my own shit in books back in the day, I originally based everything in the Teen Titans Universe and Kuraime kinda started out as a "sister" to Raven. I think her name was Eagle or something, to stick with the bird theme. Instead of Raven's indigo color scheme, Eagle had a green color scheme (reminds you of someone? ) This was also where Dairoku was made as well. (Another fact, during this time, Dairoku and Kuraime/Raven were a ship.)

Of course, my writing was absolute garbage back then. I wrote in more of a script format, rather than an actual story. Slowly as I was getting better and better, I started to slowly separate my Ocs from that universe. But my mind was still on Raven, so I ended up making a character named Raven that had long black hair and dark purple eyes. Eagle remained, but became the little sister. This was also around the time I started to get into anime like Akame Ga Kill.

Raven (my oc), would be stoic. She'd be physically unable to feel certain emotions due to having them be ripped out of her, literally. But slowly over time, she's start to regain said emotions. Her whole theme was Darkness and Death (edgy i know). But then, I had a whole Arc planned where Raven would lose her powers completely, but thanks to something Dairoku left behind when he died (yes, Dairoku had died in this one), she regained new powers that were fire related. Upon getting her new powers, all of the purple on her turned a fiery red and she changed her name to Blaze. Blaze was more aggressive, prone to bursts of anger, due to her still grieving heavily over Dairoku's death and wanting revenge for him. 

Around this time, Akame really had caught my eye, especially her weapon, Murasame. So I decided to take inspiration from it. I'd give Blaze this one-hit-kill weapon but I didn't want to do a sword, and since around this time, I got obsessed with RWBY, I became a MASSIVE Scythe person. So, the creation of the One-Hit-Kill Scythe, Ketsuekime happened. 

More and more as this happened, I began to do more and more changes. First thing was obvious. Name changes. While I loved the name Raven, I wanted to use something different. So I turned to the description I had for Raven, which was a dark haired girl with dark purple eyes. And then I remembered how Akame's name was created. 'Aka Me', which translates to 'red eyes' in japanese. So I took a page out of her book and went with that naming method, and ended up with 'Kurai Me' meaning 'Dark eyes'. Hence, Kuraime's name was created. I did the same with Eagle, a girl with dark hair and bright green eyes. 'Akarui Me' = 'Bright Eyes', turning Eagle into Akaruime. Also, this was around the time that Kuraime's relationship with Dairoku went from "A possible romantic relationship" to a "non-related sibling relationship", which honestly, I prefer.

For Kuraime's final description. She still was heavily based on Raven, but I decided to include some elements from Akame as well, such as her hair being pure jet black and being extremely long and just like how Akame says "Eliminate" or "Bury" every time she goes into her kill mode, I had Kuraime say "Oyasumi" which meant 'goodnight'. However, I did keep the Black and Purple color Scheme to homage Raven. And finally, Kuraime's whole "Speed" attribute.

I took the part of her being able to run up to Mach 1 from Akame, who's rumored to hit those speeds. But everything else, mainly her Ability known as "Raven Blitz" was in reference to Ruby Rose's Petal Burst Semblance. Hence why Raven Blitz became her Semblance in Mythical Rose and now, she just has it. It practically worked the same, but was visually different. To keep homage to Raven, instead of Rose petals, the effect was changed to Kuraime transforming into a 'Raven-like figure' that leaves behind black raven feathers in her wake. 

And last but not least, Kuraime being a singer and a violist (someone that plays a violin). Honestly, that was completely random. I just pictured that such a gothy and quiet girl, who didn't show much emotion but was generally a very kind person, has such an angelic voice when singing and could play the violin. She also can play the guitar (those for when the Angel Beats book was up, will remember that). So yeah...

I think the last thing I can talk about concerning Kuraime is... well, I guess her sexuality. She's been shipped with both sexes so yes she's bi. Neopolitan from RWBY, Iwasawa from Angel Beats, but also Tatsumi from Akame ga Kill and Otonashi from Angel Beats.

So yeah... That's all the facts I have of Kuraime for now. She went from being little more than Raven's (Teen Titans) shadow, to her completely own character that takes inspiration from 3 separate waifus; Raven Roth, Akame and Ruby Rose. A perfect combination, I think. (Huh... They all have dark hair and primarily black outfits...)
