Numbers and dragons with a twist of wolves part 2.
A,N: Hello dear readers. I am back with a little more Zexal. Kinda into it right now, so guess you are lucky. I made a new chapter. Really only want to get to the next one so yeah. But still your luck. This is more focused on Cy and Kite than Zaira really, but I am sure you are all okay with it. But with further ado have fun reading.
Mizar's p.o.v.
Mizar appeared at the bottom of the mountain close to the exact spot where the others and the numbers were. This had been one of the 23 spots that had been pointed out by Mr. Heartland, and Mizar was determined to succeed where his colleagues hadn't. He was going to obtain one of the mytherian numbers regardless what. He started off by scanning the area, and he came to the conclusion that the number must be on top of that tall mountain. He was about to get up there, when he sensed something weird that made his heart ache. At the same time, a roar could also be heard, and Mizar knew this could only be the roar of a dragon. He began jumping up the cliff side. However, the more he reached the top, the more this weird aching feeling was running through his body. It was almost like...
"There is something really strange about this place. I have never been here, yet it feels oddly familiar" Mizar then mused to himself. Once again, this strange feeling ran through him and it puzzled the yellow Emperor a big deal.
"But why? What am I feeling?" He asked himself "Is this link Dumon spoke off?".
"Mizar!" A voice then ran through the air, confusing the barian emperor even more. He looked around to see where the voice came from, but no one was around.
"Strange. I am certain someone called my name just now" He then said.
"Mizar. Find me!". The voice then said, and this time Mizar did pick up from where the voice was coming from. It was from the wind itself.
"Only one I know has these powers, but why would Zaira be calling me instead of Dumon?" He questioned rather puzzled "Has she finally realized teaming up with the humans is a mistake or maybe she is met with some trouble...". In the end he decided to follow the wind and figure out what all this was about.
Zaira's p.o.v.
I was staring down the strong dragon on Xinglong field. I had never seen a monster have so many attack points. One hit from that monster and Kite was really done for. That made sweat drip down my cheek just now. Standing in front of this adversary made me literally shake in fear, and if it had such effect on me, who was standing on the sidelines, then I wonder how Kite was feeling, as he starred down the "Soul drain dragon". I really hoped he did win though.
"Kite is in a bad shape. Xinglong's monster has way more att points than his" I could then hear Shark comment beside me.
"Yes! And even if he somehow destroys soul drain dragon, Kite will get hit by half its att points as damage. That means Kite would lose instantly" Astral uttered.
"There is nothing he can do. He is done for!" Yuma also uttered, which just showed that I was not the only one thinking this was hopeless.
"So, Kite tell me, how do you plan to escape this predicament you find yourself in?" Xinglong questioned and send Kite a smug smile.
"Hmm, go ahead and attack me to find out" Kite only replied back. It made me widen my eyes in surprise. Regardless what, Kite was still calm and collected. I just really hoped he had a plan to survive this.
"He-he. Unfortunately, I cannot. You see Soul drain dragon won't attack on the turn which it is summoned. Now it is your move Kite" Xinglong stated as he ended his turn.
That made everyone on the sideline sigh relieved. At least Kite had a turn to turn this around. We could hear Xinglong chuckle darkly now.
"Come now Kite, I am eager to see what you do next" the old man encouraged "You stall like a chick scared to leave its nest. Make a move".
"What's your hurry. Don't you know, the sooner I go, the quicker you lose" Kite sneered back at him. I snort at that. Boys and their egos.
"Are you sure?" Xinglong then questioned "This is one of many challengers ahead in your test. A test you must pass to keep your dragon. So far you are doing well, but this next challenge may change all of that. Just think, weather you pass or fail your test all may be riding on this next move. No pressure or anything".
"I had it with your test. It is my turn to school you!" Kite sneered and drew a card from his deck "I draw!".
"You can do it Kite!" I could hear Yuma shout encouraging.
"You may be right, but he will have to make just the right choice on his turn, or he will lose" Astral commented. I nodded in agreement to that statement.
"Well Kite are you ready to make a move?" Xinglong then asked.
"Yes, but you won't like it" Kite stated and activated the spell "Desperate Maneuver". By paying 800 life points, he could halve Soul drain dragon's original att points, which was 4000. That meant it lost 2000 att points now.
"But hang on that is not all you lose. Since I lost 800 life points your dragon also loses 800 att points" Kite then explained and made Soul drain dragon att down to 5200. All which made Xinglong hum.
"But Kite, my soul drain dragon still has 5200 att points. You are no match for me".
"Maybe not just yet, but my turn isn't over" Kite stated and activated yet another spell card from his hand.
The card "Dragonic Divine". Since he had a level 8 or above dragon on his field, he could pay 1000 life points to bring back a spell card he had used this turn. So of course, "Desperate maneuver" returned to Kite's hand, and since Kite lost more life points, Soul drain dragon now lost 1000 more att points.
"Kite seems to be steadily taking away his opponent's monsters att points" Astral then commented slowly.
"Yeah but it is risky. He has to give up life points to lower the dragon's att points" Yuma then added in as he looked at the duel with worry on his face.
"That is not all that is happening Yuma" I then mused out.
"Yeah I don't like the direction where this duel is taking" Shark added in. Yuma of course didn't understand a thing. However, if this strategy worked Kite might be able to defeat Soul drain dragon. If not, he was a goner.
"Now I activate my spell card 'desperate maneuver again'" Kite then stated and did just that.
Like before, by paying 800 life points, he could cut the dragon's original total in half. This time Soul drain dragon lost 1000 att points, and since Kite lost 800 life points, it also lost the same amount in att points. It now gave it 2400 att points, which was more than enough for Kite's Galaxy eyes to defeat it.
"And now, go Galaxy eyes. Attack soul drain dragon with Photon stream of destruction!" Kite shouted and of course made the dragon attack. Xinglong monster got destroyed and even dealt the old man 400 points of damage. However,...
"You got this now Kite" Yuma cheered happily.
"Nope. It is not over yet" I then said which made Yuma look dumbfounded at me.
Apparently, he had forgotten that when Soul drain dragon got destroyed, Kite still took half of the dragon's att as damage. It had 2400 att when destroyed, so Kite got now slammed with 1200 att points, which left him with only 200.
"Oh no Kite!" Yuma shouted as Kite get send backwards, hitting the ground pretty hard. However, he was at least still in the duel.
"Oh no he has only 200 life points left" Yuma then commented.
"I totally saw this coming" Shark then commented and snort.
"Really?" Yuma questioned and Shark nodded to that.
"Kite had to lose many life points so he could survive, but at least he still has life points" Astral also added into the conversation.
"Wait hold on" Yuma then uttered "You mean I was the only one who didn't figure this out?". I chuckled at that, as I grabbed him, pulling him in for a hug, while at the same time messing up his hair.
"You are usually the last one to figure out stuff like this" I then said, as my little brother looked at me with an angry look. He quickly got out of my grip as he tried to fix his messed-up hair. Then he snorts out loud.
"Oh yeah! I know something that you don't" he then sneered back at all of us "I know that Kite is going to be the one to win this duel".
Something Astral stated that was unlikely since Kite only had 200 life points remaining. I also didn't comment that I also believed Kite would win. After all Yuma did seem rather upset that he was the last one to know, so I let him have that little victory. Instead I turned my attention to my loyal friend and number Cy who had been sitting at my shoulder watching the duel as well. Or so I thought. When I looked down at my shoulder, I found nothing. All which confused me deeply. Had Cy returned back into my soul and card without telling me? That was so unlike him. But then again maybe he used to much power to manifest himself in spirit form and had to return to my soul. I decided to not disturb him. If Cy needed me for something, I was sure he would contact me. Instead I turned my attention towards the duel. I was eager to see what Xinglong's next move was.
Cy's p.o.v.
Cy walked through the giant temple Xinglong were having. It was here the voice had called him. He did feel bad however for not telling Zaira he had left, but he felt this was important. Very important in fact. At the same time, he knew Zaira could handle herself for a bit and she couldn't he would know that and be by her side in a flash.
"Why do you want me to find you?" Cy then shouted through the whole temple "Who are you? What's so important?".
Surprisingly, there was no answer. The only thing that was shown was the wind blowing around him. Cy took it as a sign as he walked the big hallways of this temple. It really was massive, and Cy even wondered if he would find the way back again for a sec, before he shook his head. That was not important now. What was, was to find that voice who had spoken to him earlier. Just thinking about that made Cy's heart ache. He knew he had heard that voice before, and he was determined to find out why and who it belonged to. The wind once again pushed him forward, and it soon led him to a giant hall. Or hall might not be the word. It was dark and moist and if Cy didn't know better this could in fact be considered a cave. That of course didn't make much sense. How could they end up in a cave when he was in a giant temple at a mountain top? It was strange indeed. However, he still continued forward and soon found a strange light in the horizon. Cy couldn't keep himself from getting drawn to it, and when he reached his destination he found, a giant stone pillar, and craved on it was a giant mural. Just like those in the past ruins they had visited. However, at the same time, Cy felt something strange about this place. Like something from a dream...
"Is this, this ruins legend?" Cy questioned puzzled as he looked at the mural. "Why was I called here of all places?".
No one was giving the answer to those questions and Cy didn't know the answer to that either, which frustrated him deeply. In the end he decided to study the mural since he had nothing else to do. The mural was long and tall, but Cy could more or less see what the figures on it was. Or at least guess. He saw a giant long slender dragon, who rose above all the other dragons on the stone tablet. Weirdly enough the wolf knew all the figures were dragons for some reasons. They could easily just have been regular monsters after all. As Cy walked forward, making his furry paw hit the monument, a strange sensation ran through him, and he saw an image of a dragon crying.
"Wha...?" Cy uttered and let go of the mural. "What just happened?". Cy looked puzzled around. No one was here, and when he looked at the mural none of the dragons were crying. Was that all an illusion?
"Why? Why were you crying?" Cy then uttered out in pure distress "Are you lonely? Were you the one calling out to me?". Of course, the mural or anything really was not replying back. Cy was all alone here, or so he thought.
"Hey! Are you the one calling out to me?!" a voice then suddenly said and made Cy turn surprised around. A young male with feathered blond hair entered this place, looking bewildered around. As he spotted Cy his eyes widened in disbelief.
"You?! But you are not Zaira? You are that wolf spirit of hers!" he then sneered annoyed "Are you the one who has been calling me to this godforsaken place?".
"No, I think this monument did" Cy mused out slowly "That is if you were called here. Just as I was, Mizar".
Xinglong's p.o.v.
Time skip. More or less around the same time.
Xinglong couldn't keep himself from smiling. It had been years, maybe even centuries, since he had a duel, and the old man was going to enjoy every last one of it. Of course, this was also a test. A test to see if Kite was worthy of this ruins number. All which was something Xinglong already had explained to Kite and his friends. However, there were also another reason. A reason he hadn't told them yet and might even be something he wouldn't tell them. It all came down to the test really. That said Kite had done exceptional well. He had taken down Xinglong's wall of defense as well as taken out his soul drain dragon. He even damaged him a little bit. All which surprised Xinglong a bit. Could Kite really be the one? Xinglong shook his head. So many things were happening here really. Sure, he had known some would come to get their hands of the numbers, as they did his colleagues. Xinglong had known instantly that the other numbers had been taken, and sadly not all of them was in good hands, which was the reason for this test. However, then she had appeared as the first one. The girl, the humans called Zaira. She had clearly not been part of his plans. After all he knew another number guardian already had claimed her as its target, and Xinglong really didn't want to be the one facing that guardian's wrath if that was not possible. That had been one of the reasons he hadn't dueled her when she arrived, but he wondered why that guardian hadn't made its move yet, if this girl was so important. Secondly, was of course Zaira's wolf spirit who had been appearing on her shoulder. That wolf, he was way too early in his book. What could his Master be thinking? They were way to early. None of them was ready for what the future had in store. Xinglong really wondered if it had called them here out of loneliness instead of pure reasoning. Or maybe he was wrong, and there really was a plan here?
In the background he could hear how Kite's friends were commenting the duel just now, which of course made Xinglong return back to reality. He had a duel to win.
"He-he, what will you do next?" the old man questioned "My Dragluon reappears since you now has destroyed my soul drain dragon, and like a near sighted fox caught in a hen house there is no way to escape".
"I'll say you are wrong. Let me show you why!" Kite sneered and activated the trap "Destruction Reward".
He could activate this since he had destroyed a monster who was level 7 or higher, and then draw 2 cards. All which he placed face down on the field before he ended his turn. Not that it was anything Xinglong was worried about.
"Hmm really? Well I must say I am impressed that you defeated my dragon. However, the next challenge in your test will be far more difficult" Xinglong then lectured before he drew from his deck.
To prove his point, he activated "Dragluon's third effect. Since it had no more Ou's and was the only dragon monster on his field, he could take control of a dragon on his opponents' field. Xinglong could see the different shocked expressions on Kite and his friends face now. The shock there was eminent there. Especially on Kite's face.
"Needless to say I will be stealing your Galaxy eyes" Xinglong then told them "The next challenge in your test is tough, so here is a hint; if you do not want me to take your Galaxy eyes, you can pay half your life points and destroy it yourself. What will you do? You are losing your precious galaxy eyes either way".
Xinglong could see how Kite was struggling with this decision. Or so he believed. He looked extremely annoyed and maybe even scared. Who could really blame him? This was a tough decision to make. Would you let your precious friend get stolen or kill him yourself? Just like the decision his closest friend Mizar had to make many centuries ago.
"So, have you decided? Are you handing down your Galaxy eyes to me, or do you choose to destroy the monster yourself? The choice is yours" Xinglong then asked.
"It is not a choice at all" Kite then mused as he was staring down Xinglong. The determination was shown in his deep blue eyes "Because you see the bond between me, and Galaxy eyes are stronger that you could ever know. Without me Galaxy eyes is nothing and without Galaxy eyes I am nothing. There is no way I will hurt my Galaxy eyes, no matter what corner you back me into".
Xinglong was staring at him. He was not going to admit this of course, but he was impressed by Kite's choice.
"Suit yourself. In that case I will take your dragon. Do it Dragluon!" Xinglong shouted, as his dragon obeyed his order.
The dragon lifted its wings and were now radiating in a strange light. All which hit Galaxy eyes full force. Without much trouble Kite's Galaxy eyes were now Xinglong's to control.
"But... but how will Kite get by without his best monster?" Xinglong could hear Kite's friends state from the sideline. This had been the lobster haired question. All which made Xinglong smile. That was the question indeed.
"Perhaps it is best you are defeated by your dragon, seeing as you and your monster are so close" Xinglong then stated as a weird form of mercy.
He made Galaxy eyes photon dragon attack directly. And that was all he wrote, or at least should have, hadn't it been for Kite activating a trap. A trap called "Destiny Break". Since a monster was attacking Kite, he could draw a card from his deck. If it was a monster card it stops this attack. Surprisingly, Kite was holding up the monster "Galaxy Knight", which of course stopped Galaxy eyes attack this turn.
"He, you must be having test takers luck" Xinglong commented.
"That wasn't luck" Kite sneered back at him "It was destiny".
"What do you mean?" Xinglong questioned rather puzzled.
"That by believing in my deck, I am sure to draw just the cards I need. That's why I am a dueling champ and you are a dueling chump" Kite explained, which made Xinglong hum. Maybe Kite really was the one? He had to make sure.
"Really? If you are so great, let's see how you fair against my Dragluon" He then replied and made his second dragon attack. However, just like before Kite activated "Destiny break" once again. He drew a card from his deck and was it a monster card, he could stop Dragluon's attack.
"What do you know, a second 'Galaxy knight'" Kite uttered and were holding up the monster card for everyone to see.
That meant that Dragluon's attack also was stopped, to Xinglong's surprise. However, that was not all, destiny break had another effect. Now that the battle phase was over, the card could get destroyed, and Kite could summon his two Galaxy knights onto the field in att mode. Only downside was that they lost all their effects. They were both level 8 with 2000 att and 2600 def. Xinglong huffed at that, as he tossed down a facedown and ended his turn. He was eager to see how Kite would get out of this predicament.
Kite's p.o.v.
Kite was glaring down Xinglong as the old man ended his turn with a face down. It didn't face Kite at all, that he was facing his Galaxy eyes. After all, if everything went the way he had planned it, his Galaxy eyes would soon return to his side of the field. That if he drew the right card from his deck though. It all came down to this. Kite was sprouting with confidence as he drew a card from his deck.
"This is the beginning of your end" he told Xinglong as he was holding up the spell called "Destiny overlay".
With this card he could target a monster on his opponents' field and use it to xyz summon together with the other monsters on his field. Something he of course pointed out to Xinglong.
"Wait, what did you say?" the old man uttered rather stunned.
"I overlay my two galaxy knights with the Galaxy eyes that is on your field" Kite then stated and did just that. "With these three monsters I build the overlay network and Xyz summon. Now prepare to witness the mightiest of monsters. With the power of this beast, the battle is over. Say hello to 'Neo galaxy eyes photon dragon!'".
Kite could see the shocked expression on Xinglong's face now as his new dragon emerged onto the field. His Neo Galaxy eyes had that impression on people. With its 4500 att and 3000 def points it was no wonder. Kite could even hear how Dragluon and Galaxy eyes were growling angrily at each other.
"You didn't expect me to summon Neo Galaxy eyes, did you?" Kite then stated.
"No. using the dragon I took from you and evolving it to duel against me was well played indeed" Xinglong commented.
"And with its special powers it will become even more powerful" Kite could hear Yuma say at the sidelines. He snorts at that since it wasn't true. Something Astral also pointed out to him.
"Your floating friend is right" Xinglong then stated as he activated Dragluon second effect and negated Galaxy eyes effects. Just like he did before. "I hope you weren't counting on them to beat me Kite". Kite snort at that again. Like he hadn't seen that coming. After all, unlike Yuma here, he was a dueling expert.
"But that means that Neo Galaxy eyes doesn't have enough attack points to defeat Xinglong this turn" He could hear Yuma utter up now.
"And that means Xinglong can use Dragluon's effect next turn to steal Neo Galaxy eyes" Astral added in. He sounded worried.
"So, if Kite doesn't win this turn. He will lose the duel and his dragon" Yuma uttered. Kite rolled his eyes at their distress. He couldn't believe he was friends with any of them, considering their lack of faith in him here.
"Relax. Just sit back and enjoy the show" Kite then said in order to make Yuma calm down. That did little.
"But Kite, you gotta win now" Yuma uttered in pure distress.
"There is no stopping me. His Dragluon is ours!" Kite stated fiercely.
"No! Not a chance!" Xinglong also uttered rather shocked.
"Yeah you wish" Kite snort as he activated 'Overlay Sentinel' effect from the grave.
It had been one of those two monsters he had used to summon his original Galaxy eyes way back at the start of the duel. By banishing this card from the grave, he could reduce the att points of Dragluon by 500 for each Ou Neo Galaxy eyes had. It has 3, meaning Dragluon loses 1500 att points (3000-1500 att) But that was not all. He also activates the effect of the monster "overlay booster" in his grave. By banishing it, he could increase the att of Neo Galaxy eyes by 500 for each Ou it has. So, its att rose from 4500 to 6000 now. That was more than enough to defeat Xinglong.
"Now Neo Galaxy eyes photon dragon attack Dragluon!" Kite then shouted and made his monster attack with its ultimate stream of destruction.
Sadly, Xinglong was ready for him. He activated his trap "Dragon dance". By banishing two dragons from his grave, like Armed protector dragon and Soul drain dragon, he could decrease his opponent's monsters att points by the total of the dragons he banished. His two dragons combined had 6000 att, which was the same att as Neo galaxy eyes.
"Oh no Kite's dragon has 0 att points now" Yuma uttered from the sideline.
"Meaning, Kite is hurting bad" Zaira commented just as worried.
"That's right and I show you, just how right you are" Xinglong stated as he made his dragon fire an attack at Galaxy eyes. "Your test is over!".
"I agree. You are about to lose" Kite stated fiercely as he activated the trap 'Galaxy Dragon Maelstrom'. Since he had an Xyz dragon type monster on his field, he could activate this card and negate the effect of Xinglong's trap, meaning his monster didn't lose any att points.
"No, it cannot be!" Xinglong uttered shocked.
"Yes. Did you think I wasn't ready for your last move? I saw it coming long ago. Your strategies in this test makes one thing clear. You always got a trick up your sleeve, so I had a trap ready for any of your surprises" Kite then said.
"You are a quick learner" Xinglong commented.
"Yeah I know" Kite replied and made his dragon attack Dragluon. As he did, Xinglong's life points got reduced to 0. Kite had won the duel.
"Alright you beat Xinglong Kite!" Yuma cheered from the sidelines as his friends began surrounding him and congratulate him on his victory.
Kite, however, didn't want any of that. Instead he walked over to Xinglong who was still kneeling at the floor, after being pushed back by his dragon's attack. Xinglong looked up at him as his duel disk became his cane again. He used it to get up on his feet.
"He-he. Well congratulations Kite. You have passed and won our duel" Xinglong then congratulated and send him a respectful smile. Kite's eyes narrowed a bit.
"I must know. Why did you test me?" he then asked.
"The answer to that question lies in the legend of this temple" Xinglong began.
"Why? Is it a story about Mizar?" Kite then questioned which made the old man nod.
"Yes, but much more as well" Xinglong said and sighed deeply "Our story began not far from here. Long ago there stood a village. The people there lived in peace and harmony for they were protected by a noble and mighty dragon. But it was not the lone guardian of this village. The great monster battled alongside its closest friend. A warrior named Mizar. Together they made a formidable defense. However dark times were ahead. A terrible flood struck the land, leaving only calamity and sorrow in its wake. Soon a mysterious Shaman arrived with a voice as hypnotic as an evening dream. He declared that the dragon had caused the disaster. The people were led astray by the charlatans lies and turned on their guardian. The dragon. They marched against the monster and were ready to destroy it for good. Mizar knew in his heart that the dragon was not to blame. He tried to convince the people, but his pleas were not heard. The people demanded that Mizar would destroy the dragon, and to appease them Mizar betrayed his heart and turned on his best friend. After a brutal battle, the dragon was defeated. Now without the dragon to defend them, the village was ruthlessly attacked. The shaman was an imposter send by the village's enemies. They turned Mizar and the villages against the dragon".
As the old man was finishing his tale, he turned his back to Kite for just a second. Kite could see that his eyes were full of sadness and pain. The dragon user had a good feeling why.
"So, you see Kite. Mizar's legend is the reason why I tested you. I needed to see if you would follow your heart. Unlike Mizar" Xinglong then stated, "He ignored his heart and betrayed the noble dragon, leading his village to fall into ruin".
"I understand..." Kite began when suddenly a weird breeze of wind was blowing all around them. Kite looked confused around, and so did the others. Then before his very own eyes a blue chained up wolf appeared, before changing size and were sitting on Zaira's shoulder. Kite rubbed his eyes, to make sure he wasn't dreaming or anything, but there really was a blue wolf on Zaira's shoulder.
"Cy? What's the rush?!" Kite could hear Zaira say "I told you not to use your wind power. The others can't see you, and it might scare them".
Kite's eyes widened. No one else could see it. Now that he took a look around, none of the others, even Astral, wasn't focused on the wolf sitting at her shoulder. They were commenting the sudden breeze though and Yuma even sneezed, since it was so cold.
"I am sorry Mistress. I am sorry I left without telling but something called to me and...." The blue wolf shook its head rather wildly now "No that is not important now. I found him Mistress. The other dragon user. He is here as well".
Once again Kite's eyes widened in surprise, and so did Zaira. However, none of them managed to warn any of the others before a cold and angry voice ran through the air now.
"Silence you fools! How dare you insinuate that I was once a filthy human!".
As Kite turned towards the voice, it didn't surprise him one bit now, when they found Mizar Standing at the roof edge, and were looking down at them with cold eyes.
"Well look who it is" Kite mused coldly and send Mizar his most intimidating glare.
The blond feathered boy landed on the ground now meters away from Xinglong. To say that the old man was shocked was an understatement. He couldn't take his eyes away from Mizar at all, which clearly annoyed the yellow barian emperor.
"Mizar it is you" the old man then said in disbelief "I sense it. After all this time. You are unchanged. My form is different, but I am sure you know who I am".
"Enough old man!" Mizar hissed angrily as shockwaves emerged from his outstretched hand and send Xinglong flying. He hit the ground close to Kite. He could see the anger and resentment that were only present in Mizar's eyes now.
"Hey what's your problem?" Yuma asked as he glared down Mizar. Kite however was having other plans.
"Mizar you skipped out of our last duel, and I want a rematch!" Kite sneered as his galaxy eyes power rose around him. He could hear Mizar chuckle at that.
"For once we agree. Because the time has come for you to fall to my Galaxy eyes tachyon dragon" Mizar shouted back just as fiercely. His dragon rose behind him as well. However, as it did, so did this place, as it began crumbling because of their powers.
"This place trembles at my power" Mizar stated as he opened a portal who could only be to barian world. "Our duel must wait. But this is not over!". Then he disappeared through the portal.
"Far from it" Kite mused to himself.
Then everything got covered in a thick fog. When it finally disappeared Kite and the others found themselves someplace else. Or maybe this was the place they had been from the get go. At the mountain top, where they barely had any place to stand on, beside the tiny rocky path that was the top. Kite wondered if everything happening with Xinglong, had been an illusion created by the guardian or if the temple truly had been real. Could have been created by the number guardian, but when Mizar attacked him everything returned back to normal. Or something like that.
"Hey where did the temple go?" Yuma also questioned. "The ruins disappeared".
"It looks like Xinglong has vanished too" Shark added in. He looked confused too.
"And I found a coin" Zaira mused and handed Yuma the coin she had just found. I was another one of Kazuma's king's coin.
"Fellow duelists. There is more to my tale" A voice then suddenly said as it rang out over the whole mountain area "From afar the dragon looked down on the destroyed village and wet. It vowed to never let such tragedy strike again, and the name of that dragon was....Dragluon".
As the dragon's name were mentioned, the dragon appeared from beneath the clouds and were now standing, or flying, in the air in front of them. Kite remembered how impressive the dragon had been in the duel, but it was nothing compared to its real live version. The others were staring in awe at the mighty dragon, as it chuckled.
"But when I take human form. I am known as Xinglong" The dragon informed them, which just confirmed Kite's suspicions that the number guardians were in fact the number cards. Just in another form. The dragon continued "When duelists win a mytherian number they gain great power. For that reason's we guardians are testing supposedly wielders to see if they are worthy. In your case Kite, I needed to see if you follow your heart and indeed you do. You have proven yourself worthy to inherit my power". At that Kite nodded. He had figured this much.
"You taught me so much" Kite responded respectfully and made a little bow.
"I have one final lesson to teach you" Dragluon continued "Long ago I bore witness to an epic battle between the forces of good and evil. The combat raged fiercely for 100 days and 100 nights. Fire rained on to the ground and lightning split the land as the two forces collided. Then in the end, vanished without a trace". Dragluon let out a little glow, as he changed shape into a card, and landed in Kite's palm now.
"Kite I entrust you with my number. Foolish battles only led the world to destruction. Learn from the past, so you are not doomed to repeat it" Dragluon said and this time Kite was sure the number was only speaking to him. He could feel how the card vibrated in his hand, as Dragluon chuckled "Oh and Kite a little warning. The female travel companion of yours holds great powers. When her ruin shows up, I suggest you should be there".
Kite mused at that, as he placed the number card in his deck case. He already knew what ruin Dragluon was talking about. It was the one who hadn't showed up on their map yet. The one that disappeared. He did wonder however why the dragon wanted him to go there of all places.
"Um maybe this is a bad time mentioning it" Zaira then mused as she made all of them look at her "But how the hell are we gonna get down from here?!".
Astral's p.o.v.
Time skip.
Astral sighed deeply as he was inside the ship where he was holding the numbers once again. After a lot of climbing down effort from Yuma and the others, they had all returned back to the ship, to leave for the next destination. Back home to Japan. After the adventures they all had, they needed some down time before they continued their quest on the remaining numbers. Even Astral needed that, after the latest discovery he found. He could still remember how Dragluon had told them of that battle who raged 100 days and nights. After all, when the dragon had told them, memories had floated back to Astral, remembering that he fought in that battle against the deity of barian world Don thousand. They had indeed fought 100 days and nights without sleep, thereafter at the end, Astral had produced enough power to do a final shining draw and seal away Don thousand for good. However, the battle had repercussions which forced Astral to be reborn anew. A process that took eons and when he finally got born again, he meets Zaira. They grew up together. More or less. Humans didn't really age in their world, but still they became friends. Best friends. Zaira even became his protector, even though his dad disliked her. It had always been something Astral had wondered about. Why his dad disliked her so much since Zaira was as innocent as a child. She couldn't hurt a fly. However, that had never really been his problem. The problem was that she was a barian. She was an enemy. Even with her powers sealed away. When Astral had first found out, after their battle at Sargasso, he had nothing against that. Zaira was still his friend, and he knew she would never hurt him. However now... now that he had his memory, his purpose back, things were different. Now he suddenly understood his father's actions with Zaira dying as she gave up Cy at the end of the battle. His father didn't trust Zaira at all and in reality, wished...
"At long last. The moment has finally arrived. I know my true purpose. The mission that had been bestowed down by my father" Astral mused in a cold tone "With Zaira's power to aid me, I have to carry out my mission to destroy Barian world".
A,N: Well hardcore ending. Now Astral finally remembers his mission and understand his father's reasonings with Zaira. This is getting interesting lol. The next chapter, however, is finally upon us. It is Zaira's ruin. Which interestingly enough I am almost done with writing. Or at least the first part lol. Oh, the tales I am gonna tell lol. However, hope this chapter was good. Even though it was a bit short. Please comment on what you think.
