Lost
~Rachel's POV~
This was unbelievable! I just witnessed my little sister falling to her death after she risked herself to save me! I cried as I climbed up the nearly frayed wire of her grappling hook.
"I see her! Rachel! Rachel!" Yakko ran to me with the others not far behind.
As I climbed over the edge, I was crying hot tears of sadness. "Sis..." I cried out.
"Babe, what happened? Are you okay?" Yakko hugged me.
"N-No... m-my sister..."
"Where is she?!" Wakko asked. "Wasn't she with you?!"
"S-She... sacrificed herself for me..."
"WHAT?!"
"And I couldn't save her." I cried harder.
"No... this can't be!" Wakko fell on his knees, and then on his hands. "No! NO!!" he cried out to the heavens.
"No! This can't be!" Dot started crying while Carrie was comforting her.
"And Pinky perished as well." I held Rakko and cried on him.
"Mama..." Rakko sniffled.
"This was my fault..."
"This can't be it! She has to be alive! Remember the avalanche?" Yakko said as he hugged me.
"T-The avalanche..?"
"Yes. She has to be down there blanketed in snow!"
"You think she's still alive? And Pinky too?" Dot sniffled.
"She has to be! She will be! I just know it!" Carrie looked down. "But it's a long way down. How can we get down there?"
"Carrie's right, your wings are strained from carrying us out of danger."
"M-Maybe..." Wakko sniffled. "W-We can u-use my sweater to..." he sniffled again. "Fly down there..."
"Wakko..." Yakko hugged him from behind.
"But what if she isn't there?"
"We'll have to move on if she's not there. It would make her happy if she was retrieved by the angels."
"Don't say that!" Wakko growled and turned around. "Maybe it wasn't a great idea for me to get her pregnant in the first place! She would've stood back home in Burbank and she would still be alive!"
"Wakko calm down. Please." I said to him and hug him. "We should start going down there and look for her."
"Okay. But if she or my child or both of them are dead, you're responsible for this."
"You have my word. Even though she did sacrifice herself for me." I said as my ears went down. "Guess I'll have to be leader for a while..." I spoke softly as I started walking down the mountain as the others followed behind me.
(Hours later...)
As we finally made it down the mountain, I took in a deep breath to see all the snow from the avalanche. "This is gonna be a long day."
"I'll say." Rita agreed.
"Okay. We're gonna split into teams." I turned around to see everybody. "Yakko, you're with me on this side. Dot and Carrie, you're a team and you go the other way. Wakko and Rita, that way is a good start."
"Okay..." Wakko sighed and went with Rita to find any traces of Aqua.
I felt so bad for Wakko and started having second thoughts that of Aqua really died, then I would never forgive myself. Not just that, but also for lying to her about me living at the same age of 28 for hundreds of years.
"Hey guys! We found something!" Dot waved to us and we rushed over.
"What did you find?" I asked her.
"Is it my Sweet Baboo?!" Wakko asked as he went to Dot.
"No. But we found this." Carrie said as she had a familiar light blue scarf in her hands.
"This is the scarf that I knitted for her for Christmas!" Yakko said as he got a hold of it.
"So if this is here, then she's still alive!" Wakko said and hugged the scarf.
I smelled the scarf and smelled the ground. "But she's not here in this area."
"You think she got up and walked around?" Dot asked.
"Not possible." a voice said.
We gasped and turned our heads to see Aqua's so called friend Grimm. "Oh great. Not you again." I crossed my arms.
"What do you mean by that?" Yakko growled.
"I mean that she hasn't got up. She's lost." he said.
"Okay pal, you better tell me where my Baboo is or I'll smack you with my mallet!" Wakko barked and growled at him.
"Sit." Grimm said.
"Okay." Wakko sat down as if he was a dog.
"Okay sir, now where is my sister?" I looked at him.
"If you want to find her, you have to solve my riddle." he said.
"You're on."
"Alright. Here's the riddle." Grimm took in a deep breath. "What costs nothing but it's worth everything? Weighs nothing but last lifetime. Not only one person can hold, but anyone could share?"
"Huh, that is a tough question." I started thinking. But as I was thinking, I smelled a familiar scent on the demon master's hands. It was Aqua's scent on him! I had to get it, but how was I supposed to do it?
"10 seconds."
"Rachel..." Wakko was worried and hugged me. "Please do this."
I gasped and wiggled my ears. "I got it!" I went up to Grimm's face and held his cheeks.
"Huh?"
"Babe?" Yakko looked at me with a face expression.
"Forgive me babe." I took in a deep breath and pecked Grimm's lips for a split second in order to get the scent off of him.
"Uhh..." Grimm blushed and looked down at me.
"The answer is, friendship."
"Wow, lucky guess."
"Babe?" Yakko frowned.
I winked at him.
"Oh! I mean umm... yeah. She guessed it." Yakko chuckled.
"Alright. Since you've already solved my riddle, I'll show you the way you need to go." Grimm raised his hands and revealed some paw print tracks leading over the horizon.
"Whoa!" Dot said.
"So cool!" Wakko wagged his tail.
"Thank you Grimm." I said as I lead the way, following the glowing paw prints. As we left Grimm, Yakko held my hand. "Hey babe."
"Rachel, why did you... kiss that guy?" he asked me.
"I had to get to him so that way I can't smell Aqua's scent on him. It was the only way."
"I see. But next time, don't do that ever again. It scared me."
"I'm sorry hon. I didn't mean to do that in front of you. But it was a part of being an actress."
"That's okay. And to tell you this, I think you would be a great actress."
"Really?"
"Yeah." he smiled.
I smiled knowing that Yakko trusts me. And now I was really hoping that we could find my sister so that way we can continue our adventure. 'Please be okay sis. Please be okay.' I thought to myself as we made our way.
