A,N: Sorry for the wait you guys, this chapter was a little difficult. It is an extra chapter, so don't be surprised that any isn't cannon. Some is, but I had to mess up most of it to make an hopefully awesome chapter. Please comment on what you think. I would like feedback.

Normal p.o.v.

Back at Heartland tower with Yuma and Astral, the two were about to leave Hart's room, when they got a surprised visit from Dr. Faker. Or a holographic visit. They had a little chat. Yuma found out Dr. Faker could see Astral, and that he apparently didn't care about his two sons, Hart and Kite. Their father had apparently had an agreement with Barian world. He should destroy Astral world, and in exchange he got these awesome powers so he could rule the earth. For those reasons he apparently made Kite a number hunter and made both his sons suffer. Faker explained that he would willingly sell out anyone to get his hands on that power. Just like he did with Yuma's father. Yuma didn't manage to reply him, because Faker activated a trapdoor underneath Yuma's feet's. Yuma's friend also got dropped out of the tower, and they all three found themselves in a giant junkyard, where Yuma actually found his deck.

"Yuma, next time you lose your deck, go find it on your own!" Tori yelled rather grumpy. However they soon were on their way home. Here our story begins..

Yuma's p.o.v.

Time skip.

Yuma slowly snuck through the night with a determined look on his face. After his adventure at Heartland tower with Bronk and Tori, Yuma and his friends had gone separated ways. Yuma figured they had went home in their comfy beds, but Yuma couldn't sadly do that. Just after their separation his D gazer had called. It had been Shark and it was for that reason he was sneaking through the night like some weird ninja. Astral had just sighed deeply at him. Soon they arrived at their destination. An old playground. There almost never came anyone here in the middle of the night.

"You are late!" Shark sneered. He was leaning up at an old climbing frame for kids.

"Ah sorry, I was running as fast as I could" Yuma replied and walked over to him. Shark snort in annoying's. He sounded really angry.

"Well not fast enough" he then sneered "And why is that you smell of garbage. Actually never mind that. I checked up on what you asked of me".

"Really?" Yuma said in a hopeful tone "So please tell me Zaira is okay, and staying at your place or something. Either that or you drove her home".

"Yuma, if Shark meets us here, I don't think it is good news" he could hear Astral say, but Yuma ignored him. He refused to give up hope yet.

"I did find her" Shark said and sighed "But.. well I was too late. Vetrix got to her first. He did something to her. I really can't explain what..".

"Like he did to Grace, in her duel against Zaira?" Yuma questioned puzzled.

"Worse!" Shark sneered and slammed his hand at the wall. Yuma noticed his hands were filled with scratches. "Zaira literally tried to suffocate me. She had intentions of killing me, and would have done so, if it wasn't for the tournament. She couldn't even recognize me. She said we all hated her too". Yuma's eyes widened.

"That almost sounds like.. didn't Vetrix say Zaira had hatred for humanity" Astral then questioned.

Yuma wondered why Astral could be so calm when his best friend and protector just got taken, but then he noticed Astral's clenched hands. The Astral being was not happy about this at all. Just like they were.

"Ahr why is Vetrix doing this?" Yuma sneered and kicked a stone "Zaira has never done anything to him. It isn't fair!". Shark snort in agreement.

"Tell me about it, but I believe he does it to get to us" Shark then stated angry "We are destroying his plans of revenge, and for that he is clearly using Zaira to make us back out. However mark my words. I will make him pay. I will take the real Zaira back". Yuma looked puzzled at him.

"The real Zaira, what do you mean Shark?" he then asked. Shark snort.

"The Zaira I met, that wasn't her. Not the real one" he then said "I am not entirely sure why. I just know. Which means the real Zaira must be somewhere else. Wherever that is". Astral hummed a little.

"Well it is plausible" he said slowly "He had moved Grace's soul into a card, but knowing Vetrix, he would never use the same method twice. Please tell Shark that". Yuma nodded and repeated what Astral had said. At that Shark snort.

"I don't care what he has done to her" he then sneered "I will save her from it. That is a promise".

Yuma nodded surprised at him. He also wanted to save Zaira, but it was like Shark was more determined that he was. Yuma wondered if that was something with that love stuff. He hadn't quite figured that out just yet.

"Fine if you ever face her in the competition, I will leave the saving to you" he then said and smiled "I know she is good hands with you". Shark looked a little stunned at him, but seconds later, he nodded determined.

"But more importantly.." Yuma then said and looked horrified "What in the world shall I tell Grandma?!". At that Shark and Astral both sighed, when Yuma flipped out.

Sasha's p.o.v.

Time skip.

"I am off, mother! Father!" Sasha yelled and rushed downstairs in the house she was living in.

In her hand she was holding her deck case with her deck inside. Sasha could feel the source of power rushing through her from it. She smiled a little. She really loved her deck over all on earth. She soon entered the living room, where she could see her father and mother was sitting. They smiled at her when they entered the room.

"Take care sweetheart" her father said and hugged her deeply "I am sorry we can't be there, to see you duel in the finals. At least not live. I have this deadline for the newspaper, and I have to finish it today". Her mom nodded and hugged her as well.

"And I have my own competition" she then said "Ice skating. They should really think about holding two events at the same time, should they".

"You know dueling is more popular Honey" her father then said and smiled "And I know our Sasha would make us proud. Isn't that right sweetheart?".

Sasha nodded eagerly, but was holding her deck close to her body though. She was a little nervous. She should duel in the finals against surely really strong opponents. There were no way she could win. Suddenly she could hear a roar coming from her deck case. She got a little startled and surprised. Then she shook her head. She must have been imagining things. However she still got the confidence she needed. She bit her parents goodbye and rushed out of the door, towards the stadium.

Yuma's p.o.v.

Timeskip.

Yuma was standing in the hallways to the arena and was waiting to enter the arena. Beside him was Shark, who was waiting impatiently with crossed arms and tipping fingers at his arm. Yuma figured he was annoyed that neither Vetrix nor Zaira had shown yet. However Kite hadn't either, so Yuma wasn't worried. Astral was floating calm and collected beside him, but Yuma knew he was just as worried as Shark.

"Ahr I am late. I am late!" yelled a voice suddenly and Yuma turned around only to find himself falling to the ground seconds later. A honey brown girl with dark brown had just ran him over. Yuma groaned in annoying's.

"Anyone who got the license on that truck" he then uttered. Shark just rolled with his eyes. He pretended he didn't exist.

"Oh I am so, so sorry!" the girl then said "I am such a clutch". A hand was handed towards him now, and Yuma quickly took it.

"Oh thanks.. wait Sasha, it's you?!" Yuma then proclaimed surprised. The girl Sasha turned her eyes shyly away and nodded.

"I.. I am sorry Yuma" she said slowly "I was so worried I was late, and yeah I am sorry".

Yuma shrugged a little and said it was okay. What made him stunned was that Sasha was not behaving like the girl he meet at the dragon's den. She was so shy.

"Yuma remember what Nistro said" Astral reminded him. "He said Sasha changed personality when she dueled. It must have been that personality we meet in the dragon's den". Yuma nodded slowly. He was keen on seeing that dragon he saw her use again. Even though he only saw a glimpse at it last time.

"You know this girl?" Shark questioned slowly. Yuma nodded eagerly.

"Yeah we meet under the competition. This is Sasha Martinez" Yuma introduced "She is one of the finalists. She has this mean dragon. She is an epic duelist".

"Oh no no I am nothing special" Sasha then said and shook wildly her head "I am just a common duelist. I am surely not as good as any of you". At that Shark snort. Yuma had a feeling he didn't like her lack of confidence.

"Ahr hello Yuma, Shark and do I know you?" said an annoying grinning voice.

They all turned around to see Vetrix standing some meters behind them. Sasha instantly hid behind Shark. She looked scared at Vetrix. Shark snort in annoying's, but he didn't make her leave at least. He was glaring coldly at Vetrix.

"Vetrix! Where is Zaira?" he sneered. Vetrix chuckled darkly.

"Oh I am hurt Shark. Not one world as greeting" he teased "Just Zaira, Zaira, Zaira. She doesn't want anything to do with you".

He had just said that when Zaira walked out of the shadows. She looked at them with a cold smirk, who didn't suit her at all. She walked over and was glaring coldly at Yuma and Astral. He was glad Shark had told him beforehand, or he was sure he would have a heart attack. That look she sent him. He was sure that could kill.

"So you are Yuma?" she questioned and then looked up at Astral "And this ghost must be Astral?". Yuma nodded stunned. He really couldn't believe she couldn't recognize them. Zaira snort coldly.

"Well whatever. I will crush you!" she then said "I will crush you all. Payback for how people treated me in the past. You will all pay". Yuma eyes widened in utterly shock. So did Astral's. nothing could prepare them for that.

"Zaira.. what..what happened to you?" Astral uttered "We are best friends".

"Friends?" Zaira said and snort "I am not friends with a couple of weirdos".

"Now, now Zaira wait for the competition" Vetrix said and send them an evil smirk.

"Oh yeah sure Vetrix" Zaira then said and bowed. She looked at Shark "But I can't wait to get started".

She sent a Shark an evil smirk too. One glare that said 'I will kill you' glare. Shark glared back just as much. Then Zaira and Vetrix walked over to one of the walls to wait for getting introduced to enter the arena.

"She really doesn't remember" Yuma then said slowly "What did Vetrix do to her?".

"That's what I been tellin yer. That is not the real Zaira. Not by a long short" Shark said and sneered "I know Miss stubborn".

"They scare me" Sasha said and looked behind Shark "They have malice around them". Yuma couldn't argue by that. Vetrix surely had malice, but Zaira!

"I will go over and talk to them" Shark said and shook Sasha off him "I will tell him a thing or two. I want my Zaira back!". However just in that moment Mr. Heartland's voice could be heard from the arena now. The finals were about to begin.

Normal p.o.v.

"It is gonna be an dynamic day duel fans, as we prepare to launch the thrilling duel world carnival finals" Mr. Heartland yelled all around the stadium "We are down to our final 6. those 6 will now face up against each other to see who becomes the WDC champion! This place is gonna get hotter than a barbecue grill, but first let's introduce our 6 finalists".

The crowd went wild all around the stadium. Yuma's friends on the tribune was some of them. They wondered who was dueling who. Heartland began announcing the finalists name starting with Reginald Kastle and ending with Vetrix. The finalist quickly entered the arena down there. Yuma even waved around with his hands to the fans. Sasha sadly tripped which made the crowd laugh a little. Kite, that show off, appeared in the arena from the sky on his glider Orbital. That made the crowd go totally stunned and wild. The rest didn't get much attention. They all was standing on one line looking at Mr. Heartland who was in his hover jet in the air.

"Since the finalist are here, let's reveal our latest upgrade" Heartland said and pointed in the air "Let's elevate the duel tower".

In the middle of the stadium a hatch opened and a giant tower emerged from below. Yuma and the crowd stared in awe. A giant platform was shown on the top, along with 4 different platforms scattered down below the tower. Each platform a little higher than the others.

"Hope you are not scared of heights" Heartland then commented. "This is gonna be the most dizziest dueling action ever". He looked down at the finalists.

"But before we start, let's pick who shall duel who" He then announced and was holding up a box. "We are doing this rather simple. The first 3 platforms are having a number from 1 to 3. The finalists will draw a paper from this box, and those with the same number is gonna duel against each other on that number's platform. Since we are having an odd match up, the duelist who wins on platform 3 goes directly to the finals, while platform 1 and 2 winners, has to battle a second time on platform 4. So who has the luck of the draw?! If the finalist would please walk forward". They all walked forward and took a piece a paper from Mr. Heartland's box. Then they were holding up the numbers. Mr. Heartland took a close look and nodded.

"The matchup has been decided" he then announced "On platform 1, who is closest to the ground, will Sasha Martinez and Yuma Tsukumo battle. On the second platform higher up will Reginald Kastle and Zaira Wroom duel, and lastly on the third platform will Vetrix and Kite battle it out". The crowd went wild again.

"So let's start the first match shall we?" Mr. Heartland yelled "Yuma Tsukumo and Sasha Martinez will stay in the arena, while the other finalists will wait in the loge until it is their turn". Yuma and Sasha stayed in the arena, while the other finalists began leaving.

Yuma's p.o.v.

Yuma looked stunned around in the arena. He was having the first fight?! How luckily could he get. Although he had hoped he should have faced up against Zaira. He wanted to save her from whatever control Vetrix was having on her. However just before the finalists left, Shark pulled him over telling him to leave Zaira to him, and just concentrate on the match in front of him. If Shark really were unsuccessful then Yuma would have his chance at her in the second round. Or if he even managed that. He should first win over Sasha Martinez. The platform got down to the ground and Yuma and Sasha got quickly on it. They both activated their duel disks.

"Let's have ourselves some altitude" Mr. Heartland said and the platform began driving up on the tower. Yuma looked surprised down. They were pretty high up.

"You kept your promise" Sasha then suddenly said. Yuma looked puzzled at her.

"Don't you remember? You swore on your honor as a duelist" Sasha continued "That you will take me on if you had more life points. Count on it!". Yuma's eyes widened. That was the Sasha he meet in the dragon's den alright.

"Oh yeah we swore we were gonna duel against each other" Yuma then said and grinned "Just watch out. I am not going easy on you". Sasha nodded eagerly.

"Neither will I Yuma" she then said "You can count on it!".

Sasha: 4000 Lp.

Yuma: 4000 Lp.

Sasha started off. She drew and summoned "Strategist of the ice barrier" to the field in att mode. Yuma looked surprised at the monster. He had never seen a monster like that before. Astral hummed beside him.

"Ice barriers. Interesting" he commented. "This is gonna be difficult".

Yuma was about to ask him why, when Sasha activated the monster's eff. She could discard another ice barrier from her hand to the grave, to draw another card from her deck. She chose "General Gantala of the ice barrier". Yuma looked puzzled at her. That was an lv 7 monster. Then she played the spell "Swords of revealing light" to his big surprise. Apparently Sasha really wanted that level 4 monster on the field.

"Be careful Yuma" Astral advised, Yuma looked puzzled at him.

"Why it is only a lv 4 monster on the field Astral" he then replied "We can easily beat this monster". Astral's eyes narrowed.

"But Ice barrier. I heard a rumor that they go dancing around in circles" he then said "And don't forget Anna Kaboom lost to this girl". Yuma snort in annoying's.

"Fine, fine" he then proclaimed "I will go on the defensive".

He summoned "Goblindbergh" and "Gogogo golem", for a quick xyz summon to "Gagaga cowboy", who he quickly placed in def mode. He used one Ou to deal 800 points of damage to Sasha. Then he ended his turn. He snort inside. It was not like Sasha could defeat his cowboy that easily with its 2400 def points. That and there were no way monsters could dance in circles in the first place.

Time skip in the duel.

Well Yuma had to eat those words now. As the duel progresses. He found himself rather difficult situation. Sasha had easily turned the tides in this duel, and that was even before her stupid swords had disappeared. She even destroyed his Gagaga cowboy without even attacking. She just used the spell "Magic triangle of the ice barrier", showed three ice barrier to Yuma, destroyed his cowboy and even summoned "General grunard of the ice barrier" to the field. He was an level 8 with 2800 att points. Yuma easily lost 2800 life points. If it wasn't for his "Gogogo ghost" bringing out "Gogogo golem" he would have been toast already. It didn't help that some of her other ice barrier could bring other ice barrier back from the grave.

"Ahr Astral, so that was what you meant with circles" Yuma uttered scared "Those monsters are really dancing around supporting each other. What do we do?".

"Calm down Yuma" Astral then said "Just do as I say and we will be fine. I have a plan". Yuma nodded and listened to what Astral had to say.

Dueltime skip again.

It was working! It really worked. They had ripped the field for her Ice barriers! Yuma was jumping for joy. It had been rather simple really. He had used the spell "Lightning vortex" and discarded the card "Tasuke knight" to the grave. He even manage to get some damage in with "Gogogo golem", leaving Sasha with only 1400 life points left. He was surely winning. Sasha only had one card in her hand. There were no way she could win with only that.

"I draw" Sasha said and drew. She was actually smiling, which made Yuma a little worried. People wouldn't smile when they were about to lose would they?

"It is so awesome Yuma" she then proclaimed "I have never had so much fun".

"Me neither" Yuma then replied smiling. Sasha was one of the kind.

"Too bad it has to end" she then said and sighed "Hey Yuma you wanted to see him right? My dragon". Yuma nodded eagerly. Then he frowned. How could she unless..

"I remove 2 water monsters from the grave out of the game to summon 'Tidal, the dragon ruler of the waterfalls'" Sasha then yelled and a mighty dragon, with 2600 att and 2000 def, appeared on the field.

It was covered in mysterious blue ice shared body, had giant flapping wings and a long ice slender tail. It had horns on its head in the same color as his body and it's eyes were red. Yuma was staring in awe. That was the dragon he saw in the dragon's den he was sure of that.

"Hmm no wonder Sasha chose the Antarctica field at the dragon's den" Astral then suddenly commented "Whatever effect it have had, it surely powered up ice or water monsters a lot. No wonder Anna Kaboom lost to her. Sasha is really an phenomenal duelist, and with that dragon on her field, we really shouldn't take her lightly".

Yuma nodded in agreement. Sasha wasn't even using Xyz monsters. He wondered if she had any. If she had, she might even be a more difficult foe to deal with.

"Tidal, attack Yuma's Gogogo Golem now" Sasha then yelled "Ice stream of destruction".

Yuma looked in horror, when his Golem got attacked and he lost 800 life points. He got blasted to the ground now. He was only having 400 left.

"Oho impressive monster" Mr. Heartland yelled "Yuma Tsukumo is in for a freezing development. With only 400 life points to his name, will the boy make a comeback, or will he be frozen stiff by this amazing dragon".

Yuma snort and got up on his feet's. What was Mr. Heartland talking about? Of course he would do a comeback. He would never ever give up. He had to move on, and face either Shark or Zaira in the next round. Hopefully Shark. If Shark won, Zaira may return to normal. If not he would bring her back. That was a promise.

"Yuma we need a level 4 monster" Astral commented "Then I see a chance for victory. A plan for us to win". Yuma smiled a big wide grin now.

"Well what are we waiting for Astral" he then said and made one back handspring and rushed a little forward and drew "Cause I am feeling the flow!". He looked at the card he drew. Then he smiled. His deck didn't let him down.

"I summon out 'Gagaga gardna' in att mode" he then yelled "Then I use the spell 'Monster reborn' to bring back 'Tasuke knight' from my grave". Yuma smiled. They were both level 4 warrior monsters. He overlaid them to summon "Heroic champion – Excalibur". (2000 att and def) Sasha looked puzzled at him.

"Why did you bring that monster out? It is weaker than my dragon?" she questioned.

"Don't count it out just yet" Yuma then said and grinned "I can only attack with this monster, when my life points are lower than 500. And by using all is Ou's it's att double to the end of this turn".

Sasha's eyes widened. Yuma quickly removed the Ou's and his monster now had 4000 att. He quickly attacked and slayed Sasha's dragon giving her exactly 1400 points of damage, which made her life points hit 0. She flew through the air now and hit the platform pretty hard.

"And that concludes the first match" Mr. Heartland then commented to all the people at the tributes. "Yuma Tsukumo wins the duel, and got one step closer to the finals. Give him a big hand!". Yuma could hear the crowd went wild. Yuma quickly over to Sasha with an worried expression.

"Sasha, are you okay?" he questioned "Did I hurt..". However whatever the rest he was about to say, it disappeared, when he could hear Sasha laugh out rather loudly.

"Hahaha, Yuma you are amazing" he could then hear her say and she got up from the ground. She was smiling like hell. Still laughing a little though. "This was so fun. Ha-ha. I never, ever had so much fun. This was the best duel ever! You can count on it!". She was holding out her hand towards him. Yuma's eyes widened. Then he smiled happily and took it.

"You bet! Let's do this sometimes again" he then said and grinned. They both began grinning happily now. The crowd went even more crazy.

"Oh how wonderful sportsmanship" Mr. Heartland announced "That is what I really call showing heart. Give those two awesome duelists a big hand. In a minute we will continue the next duel where Zaira Wroom and Reginald Kastle will battle it out on stage two. So stay tuned duel fans". Sasha and Yuma looked at each other.

"Well I hope you save your friend" Sasha then said "I feel malice around her, but I am sure you can save her. Just give it your all, as you did in our duel".

Yuma nodded. He would remember that. He was sure Shark would give his all as well. That was the only way he could ever save Zaira, from whatever Vetrix had done. He just knew.

 Shark's p.o.v.

Shark was standing up in the loge together with the other finalists and were watching the duel. Or almost everyone. Kite had gone off somewhere, and was not present watching the matches who unfold. Shark had snort at that. Not like was needed yet anyway. His and Vetrix match was first later. However Zaira and Vetrix were presence. Not that Shark payed them much attention. They were sitting on this big couch in here and was watching Yuma's match unfold. One of the reasons Shark was leaning at the wall in here. He refused to join them, no matter how much space there were on this couch. No one was saying anything either. It was rather silent, and that was just how Shark liked it. However he caught Zaira staring at him once in a while. Shark wondered if Zaira was eager to beat him, or it was because the real Zaira was fighting from somewhere, and trying to send him a message. Shark really didn't care about that now. Everything would be showed in their duel later. That and Vetrix would never make him try to get Zaira back. Not in his presence right here. So he used the time to watch Yuma and Sasha duel. He was checking out the competition. If he won over Zaira, which he would, he would face up against Yuma. He didn't think for one second that Yuma would lose to Sasha. Yuma was persistent. A gift that kind of made him never quit or give up. It was a gift he had learned to respect over time. Shark hummed slowly now. He was actually rather impressed by Yuma's skills during the duel. He had gotten some new monsters and he had stopped relying on the number Utopia's power. That was a start. Soon after he won the duel with that heroic champion of his. Suddenly Shark could feel someone stare at him, and he turned instantly towards them. He noticed once again Zaira stare at him, but this time they actually locked eyes. Not like the other times where Zaira had looked away, when he caught her staring at him. Shark tensed a little. Her eyes. Zaira's eyes! It was like looking into a predators eyes. Or in this case, an angry, fierce and wild wolf. There were no mistake in that he was this predators prey. Shark sent her a similar glare. A predatory sharks glare. He was not going to be intimidated by her.

"It is our turn Shark boy" Zaira then said and broke the silence between them. "I must admit I have been looking forward to crushing you". Shark just snort back. He was not gonna reply her on that. What happened in that factory.. well it was not gonna repeat itself here in this duel. She was not gonna capture and beat him that easily.

"Well I guess it is really your turn to shine Zaira" Vetrix then said and turned towards Shark with an evil smirk "Beat him hard my dear. Show me why I chose you for this task. Show me your resolve". Zaira smirked and got up from the couch.

"Oh I will show you alright" she said and now glared at Shark. "And I will beat him and everyone else pretty hard. I will pay humanity back for hurting Us in the past". Shark's eyes narrowed slowly. Hurting Us in the past?! Who did she mean? Vetrix?! Shark then shook his head a little. He needed to focus on the duel for now.

"Are you coming Shark boy?" Zaira then questioned with an annoying smirk "Or are you forfeiting already?". Shark sneered and got away from the wall.

"Yeah I am coming alright" he then said in a cold tone "But it is you who should be forfeiting". Then they both walked towards the arena.

Soon they were standing on the second platform. Shark noticed that Yuma and Sasha's platform was driving towards the ground in just that second. Shark noticed that he was sending Shark a worried look.

"Let's introduce the finalists shall we" Mr. Heartland announced "First up we have Zaira Wroom. This is the first competition she has been in, so there is not much else to tell. But believe me guys, she may look innocent, but she has claws". Shark noticed that Zaira didn't reply to any of what Mr. Heartland was saying about her.

"The last time we saw Zaira's challenger in the spotlight, he was banished from the dueling world in disgrace. But now he is back with vengeance. No one is safe when this Shark's zero's it in on its prey. It's Reginald Kastle" Mr. Heartland then announced to the crowd. Shark snort in annoying's. Way to rip up in his past.

"Oh so you are seeking vengeance too Shark boy?!" Zaira then suddenly said and tilted her head in a curious gesture. "Why don't you join me and Vetrix then?!".

"Zaira have you lost your mind!" Shark sneered instead back. "How can you even say that? Me, joining you and Vetrix?! Don't you remember what he has done? To you? To me?! Vetrix is just using you". Zaira's eyes narrowed.

"I don't know what you are talking about Shark boy" she then said "He hasn't done me a thing. All he is doing is helping me get payback on humanity for hurting Us. I am the one using him here".

Shark sneered and shook his head. He couldn't believe it. He couldn't believe Zaira couldn't remember what had happened between them. There is that Us again? What does that mean? Who is she talking about?

"Zaira, stop this meaningless vengeance" he then said "You truly doesn't wish that. You were the one telling me to stop My stupid vengeance. Don't you remember? You were the one saving me from the darkness in my heart". Zaira looked puzzled at him.

"I don't know what you are talking about" she then said and snort. She activated her duel disk. "But my vengeance is not meaningless. Prepare yourself".

Shark sneered, but he did activate his duel disk. If I can't get through to her like this, then maybe I can through my dueling. Zaira, please respond to me. Then the duel started.

Shark: 4000 Lp's.

Zaira: 4000 Lp's.

Shark started off by summoning "Stocktopus" facedown. Then he tossed down a facedown and ended his turn. Shark looked at his hand. I have placed myself in a strong position. Whatever miss Stubborn summons, I can turn it against her. The card I placed down was Zeus's breath. However if she attacks with a strong monster, my Octopus will deal with her first. Either way I am prepared. For her and her number.

"Really Shark boy, you face me with that?" Zaira then said and snort. "I expected more from you. Let me show how a real predator hunts".

She drew and summoned "Werewolf hunter" in att mode. It was an normal monster with 1800 att points. Then she played the spell "Clan meeting" and summoned "Beast wolf". Since it didn't get special summoned from her deck, he didn't get slammed him with 500 points of damage. Shark eyes narrowed a little. There it is. The lv 4 combo Astral and Yuma told me about. That's one of the combo's she normally uses to summon her number, Cyclone beast wolf. Shark was a little thankful that they had shared entail last night. That and he also watched Zaira's last duel. Then come on miss stubborn. Summon your number. Zaira snort suddenly.

"You are so easy to read" she then said "Wonder if that's because you are no longer a true predator. You lost your bite". Shark sneered coldly.

"What is that supposed to mean?" he yelled back at her. Zaira hummed.

"You are not fighting to kill" she then said and shrugged "Not sure what you are after, but you are not a fierce shark any longer. You got tamed".

Shark was staring out in the air now. Normally something like that would get to him, but today.. well today was a different day. Shark wondered if that had something to do with Zaira standing in front of him. Normally his pride would come in between and he would be pretty offended by that statement. If it had been anyone else Shark was sure he would beat that person up just to prove that he wasn't 'Tamed' at all. However with Zaira here, Shark actually just shrugged a little.

"So what!" Shark then replied and his eyes narrowed "I don't care. I can be fierce when I want to be. Especially when I want to protect my friends. You are one of my friends too Miss stubborn. You are really important to me". At that Zaira began laughing. Shark looked really puzzled at her. He had no idea why she was laughing.

"You and I, friends?!" Zaira then said and laughed again "Don't kid yourself. We are far from being friends. How can a Wolf and a Shark be friends anyway? They are both predatory animals. They would kill each other the minute they met".

"Don't ask me" Shark said and shrugged "It just happened. What's important is that we Are friends. Therefore I will do everything I can to save you".

"Save me?!" Zaira questioned puzzled "Save me from what exactly?!".

"From yourself. From vengeance. From whatever Vetrix has done to you. Pick a topic miss stubborn" Shark then said and shrugged "I just want you, the real, happy and stubborn Zaira, back". At that Zaira actually hissed which surprised Shark a little.

"No! you won't!" she then sneered. "We are not happy yet. We'll never be. Not as long as you and everyone is here. I will destroy you!!".

Then without warning she made her werewolf attack. Shark quickly activated his trap "Zeus' breath". Since Zaira attacked, he could negate the attack, and since he was having a water attribute monster on the field, he could also slam Zaira with 800 points of damage. Zaira flew backwards and hit the platform pretty hard.

"Zaira, are you okay?" Shark then questioned in a worried tone.

He hoped that had given Zaira the wakeup call she needed. Sadly that was not the case, when Zaira got up from the ground, and looked pretty mad at him.

"You call that being fierce" she sneered "Guppies has more bite Shark boy. If you truly want, what was it you called it, the real Zaira back again, then fight seriously and become a true predator. Defeat me!". Then she placed a facedown and ended her turn.

Shark's eyes narrowed now. He was really confused. That girl.. That girl who pretended to be Zaira, Shark was sure it was not the real one. Zaira would never wish for vengeance. She wouldn't wish to hurt others. She wouldn't kill. However this Zaira was weird. Why would she.. why would she attack so recklessly? Why were she so angry? Why did she want him to defeat her? It made no sense. Just like that part with the words Us and We. Who was she talking about? Shark was pretty sure it was not Vetrix any longer. As Zaira pointed out she believed she was using Vetrix to get her revenge for some reason. Then there were the problem with this whole turn. She had summoned two wolf monsters, but she didn't do a Xyz summoning. Shark knew she could had summoned Cy just now. If she had, she could had destroyed two of his cards on the field and deal him major damage. Why she didn't was a big mystery to him. What is she up to? Does she have some sort of genius plan here? Is she trying to pull me into a trap? And the Us and We.. Hmm something isn't right.

"You should talk Zaira. You are not a true predator either" he then pointed out "If you were, you would have summoned your ace card by now. Isn't Cyclone beast wolf your ace? Why haven't you summoned it?". At that Zaira sneered a little. She had clenched around her chest for some weird reason.

"It is none of your business! I don't need him to beat you anyway" She then yelled in an angry tone. Then in a low voice, Shark barely could hear, but still did, she mumbled "And I don't want to disturb their peace".

Shark's eyes widened. Don't tell me.. don't tell me I was correct. I.. Shark shook his head. He had to be completely sure. So you want me to be a true predator. Well I show you! It was his turn and he drew. He then summoned "Double Shark" to the field in att mode. He used his monster's eff. By lowering his monsters on the field to level 3, Double Shark could attack twice this round. However this was not Shark's objective in this duel. Instead he intended an Xyz summon. He overlaid his now two level 3 monsters to summon "Submersible carrier Aero Shark" to the field. He used an Ou. Now he could deal damage to Zaira for every card in his hand. He was currently holding 4, so that was 1200 damage. Zaira once again flew backwards and hit the ground.

"Wake up Miss stubborn!" he then yelled as loud as he could "You are stronger than this! Wake up! You normally don't let others control you!". However just like before Zaira got up from the ground, and looked really angry at him. She had only 2000 life points left, but sadly the real Zaira was not back yet.

"Hey stop shouting!" she sneered "I am awake as you can see". Shark shook his head.

"No you aren't" he then said "Because you are not Zaira. Not the real one".

"Of course I am Zaira" Zaira then replied. She was pretty annoyed "Are you trying to make me mad". Shark glared coldly at her.

"If you are her, then there must be two of you here" Shark then concluded in a cold tone. "Because My miss stubborn is sleeping inside of you!".

A,N: Muhahaha cliffhanger. That was sadly the end of the first part. Hope you think it was interesting. I think it kind of were he he. My first chapter without Zaira's p.o.v. That is quite intriguing. By the way, anyone who figured out who this evil Zaira really is? Just curious. If not you must wait until I reveal it in the story sadly. That and if anyone is curious why I picked Ice barrier for Sasha's deck, and didn't use xyz or syncro monsters, which you normally use in those kind of decks. Well short version, forgot that there are no syncro monsters in zexal, and I kind of felt the xyz monsters destroyed the deck. He he However in the next part, the duel continues. We have a little Yuma and Astral, mixed with Shark and a twist of Zaira. There will be some scary moments (at least in my eyes) too. Hope that still sounds interesting.
