A,N: Well finally made the next chapter. This is not following the original episode that much, but hope you still like it. I also cut Yuma's duel with Vetrix a little short. I found the start so boring and wanted this chapter to only be in two parts, but hope you don't mind either way. Oh and there is a reason I chose that picture for the chapter, but read the story, and you understand. Please comment on what you think.

Vetrix's p.o.v.

Vetrix was angry. Or angry was maybe not the right word for it. He was furious! Not only didn't Zaira do as he had planned. She didn't defeat Yuma nor Dr. Faker for him, and that made the masked kid pretty angry. It didn't help that Zaira had asked Yuma to defeat and save him for good. That was the last drop, that made Vetrix rather furious. Power rose around him now.

"Defeat me! For good!" Vetrix yelled angrily "I will teach that tweep Yuma, to not meddle in my affairs anymore!".

He let out a scream and his power destroyed the glass in the window at the loge he was sitting at. Vetrix sneered angrily again. He looked outside at the stadium with the duel tower. Mr. Heartland had made the platform Yuma and Zaira had been dueling at, fall down to the ground now. A medic team was ready with a stretcher, to move Zaira to the nearest hospital. Vetrix knew that was rather pointless, since Zaira had given Astral her numbers. Without Cy she couldn't live. They would soon discover that she was death.

"Serves her right!" Vetrix sneered out "She could just have done as she was told. Then she would have been alive, and Yuma and Astral would have been defeated. But instead she chose this noble route. Yuma's influence has misguided her".

He took another look down at the stadium. Yuma was fighting against the medic team now. He was trying to prevent them from getting to Zaira. It was a wasteful effort in Vetrix eyes, but at least Yuma's little friends joined him. Bronk, Cathy and Flip was trying to be shield guards, while Tori and Caswell tried talking them out of moving her.

"What a loyal bunch of fools" Vetrix then uttered "Unless they give back the number cards, before Zaira's soul is completely consumed by the abyss and sent up to oblivion, then and only then, they can save her". Vetrix eyes fixated on Yuma.

"Zaira failed her mission, but that won't make any difference. I'll just have to defeat Yuma and Astral all by myself" He then said firmly and left lodge.

Zaira's p.o.v.

I was so tired. So damn tired. I could almost not keep my eyes open, but it actually made no sense at all, to keep them open. Everything around me was dark anyway. I was drifting away in some unfamiliar place. It felt like you were falling down into dark, cold ocean. You were drifting further and further away from the surface. Further and further away from the light actually. I wondered if it was like this for everyone. Drifting away in a dark abyss when you died, or if it only was in my case. I had broken my promise to Eliphas after all, and hurt the.. wait Astral prince? Yes, something with a prince, that was for sure, but I couldn't suddenly remember his name. I stretched my hand out in the watery air now. I was beginning to forget. I sighed deeply. I deserved it I guess. I broke a vow to someone after all. Even though I now couldn't remember that as well. I let out another sigh and closed my eyes. I was now just lying in this dark abyss, while falling deeper and deeper into this dark ocean, with no purpose of whatsoever. Did I even have a purpose to begin with? Someone who cared about me? I let out a sigh again. No, there were surely no one like that. If there were, why would I else be lying here. I groaned a little. It wasn't important anyway. I just wanted to lie down here, in that abyss and sleep. However a tiny bit of me had this feeling, that this was not supposed to be the end. That I was still clinging to something, that wouldn't make me go to rest. I just didn't know what that was. I wondered for a sec, if this was what people would call hope. I wasn't sure. I just knew I didn't want to lose it, regardless what it was. One word were emitting from my lips now. The word "Duel". I didn't know why. Maybe it was important to me. Maybe not. However my thoughts were wandering to a.. a card maybe. Then I saw it! Even with closed eyes I saw it. A light! It was flashing so bright, I could see it through my eyelids. Then a male voice followed.

"Mistress, it is time to return". I felt rather confused by that. Return? Return from what?! I sighed again. It was not important. It really wasn't, and wait didn't the water feel a lot heavier now? But I didn't resist. Why should I?

"Mistress, you got to wake up" The voice then said firmly "You are blocking me away. You have to live! You have to have the will to live Mistress Zaira". I groaned a little at that. I had a feeling I knew that voice, but I couldn't quite remember.

"Zaira?" I said confused "Who is that?". Wind was blowing all around me now.

"It's your name Mistress" the voice then said "You are mistress Zaira. You got to remember Mistress. You got to wake up and live. If not, we will both be captivated in this abyss for all eternity".

I groaned again. Remember? Remember what exactly? Wait I have a name? My name is Zaira. Zaira, Asta Wroom!

"Cy!" I uttered scared as memories began filling my skull. I soon remembered everything. "I remember now. I died. I lost the duel and..".

I quickly opened my eyes and found myself falling with alarming speed through the abyss. I even manages to look behind me, to see where I was going. A piece of earth. Properly some weird land or country was behind me, and it was tainted in the darkness. I even saw people. Ghostlike creatures who was wandering around endlessly without a purpose. I had a feeling this was lost souls. People who had maybe done something, like crimes maybe. What I did know, was that I didn't care. I was not gonna end there.

"Cy!" I then uttered in an even scared tone "Save me! I want to live. I want to live together with my friends and family. Not end down here. Save me Cy!".

"Mistress" I could hear Cy yell and then I saw him. The blue chained wolf who rushed through the waters, with great speed "Hold on Mistress. I am by your side in a minute!".

I nodded slightly, but fear was still rising inside of me. I wasn't even sure Cy had a minute. I was reaching that dark tainted ground pretty fast. I tried reaching out to him regardless. I could feel the wind around me. Cy was trying to reach me as well. His wind power was trying to reach me like some extra hand. We were seconds from touching, I really thought he would make it, when the gravity from that darkness in that land or whatever was pulling me even more.

"Mistress!" Cy uttered, and by the tone of voice he was using, he sounded scared.

I let out a half scream, but here at the end, I decided to smile instead. Whatever fate waited me there, I was not gonna be scared in those last seconds. Few words were entering my mind now. Thanks Cy!, Thanks Yuma. Thank you everyone for everything. Then I closed my eyes, and waited for the end.

"I got you!" said a new voice then. It was clearly not Cy's. I could feel myself stop up completely. I was no longer falling, but I wasn't moving either. "Don't worry Zaira. You will not join those lost souls down there".

I slowly opened my eyes and was staring into two purple eyes. At first I didn't know what was going on. I mean how many people has purple eyes. Then a silhouette of a person appeared. It was a little kid. A girl and she was floating. My eyes widened in disbelief.

"You?!" I uttered rather stunned and looked at the girl. My past self.

"Yep, that's me" She then said and smiled "You thought I was gone for good? Shame on you Zaira. Vetrix fused us together with the crest, and used my darkness of your heart to control you. Sort of. But when his power broke, I could easily free myself. I am you after all. We are stubborn!". She let out a scream and pulled me upwards.

"Cy, take her!" she then yelled and I could feel myself suddenly fly upwards.

I yelped a little shocked at that. Then I hit a back of blue fur. I was at Cy's back now, and he was floating in midair, together with my past self now. I could slowly feel the warm return to my body as well. I knew I was alive now.

"You are truly part of my mistress" I could hear Cy then tell the other me now. "Thanks". She was giggling slightly and kicked something in the air out of embarrassment.

"Oh that was nothing, Zaira is me of course, so if she ended down there, I would end down there, and they don't look like any fun" She then replied. I nodded slightly.

"Well I got to get going" my past self then said "Can't keep you hanging around here. Cy's power is not limitless after all". My eyes widened in surprise.

"Wait don't go!" I then uttered "You just saved my life. I have to pay you back. That and I did all those things to you. I locked my past away and left you alone and hurt..".

"You don't have too" she then interrupted and smiled a big smile. She hugged Cy and I "You already fulfilled my long lost wish. I can finally return back home".

Then she began sparkling, and turned to pure energy. Not that dark energy Vetrix had used, but pure sparkling energy. Then she entered my body. As she did past memories ran through my head now, but unlike I normally do, I didn't block them out. I accepted them instead. This was my past, and even though I was not proud of it, it was still a part of me. That part that made me, me!

"Let's return Mistress" Cy then said "The others are waiting for your return".

I nodded and Cy and I rose slowly towards the surface once again.

Normal p.o.v.

"Move it brat!" One of the Medicare people yelled and tried shaking Yuma off his back "We have to get that girl out of the way there quick. You are so creating an uproar".

Yuma however didn't care, he was just hanging out for dear life, while almost strangling the paramedics. Caswell and Tori looked at him while sighing.

"So much for explaining the situation" Caswell then said "If Yuma just had let us finished explaining, before jumping on the man's back, things would have gone a lot smoother". Tori nodded slowly.

"But you can't blame Yuma either" she then replied "Talk about what kinda shock he must have been having, finding out Zaira died. He just reacted that way when they wanted to take Zaira away".

Caswell nodded. He was even surprised they got that information about the numbers and Zaira out of him, beforehand. He mumbled something about stalling time, while Astral did something. So that was what Yuma did. Together with Bronk and the others, who was fighting the guards who tried taking them away. It looked rather fierce.

"She is my sister. She is not Ill!" Yuma then yelled angrily "So you don't have to take her away! She just resting".

"Yeah right kid" the paramedic then said "She fell suddenly to the ground, and didn't get up. Now move it!". However Yuma didn't move an inch from the man's back.

"Come on Astral, you said it would work!" he instead yelled "Zaira get up! Just show then that you are alright. Come on get up I say!".

The guards however tossed Yuma off the paramedic's back, and they were about to reach Yuma's other friends and..

"What are you all doing here?" a voice then said and surprised everyone.

Zaira was suddenly moving. She jumped up on her feet's and moved her stiff body. Everyone was staring at her. Literally everyone. Even the people from the tribune.

"What are you staring at?" Zaira then sneered. The paramedics eyes widened.

"You were just death a minute ago" one of them then said "It is a miracle".

"A miracle? Aren't you exaggerating just a tiny bit" Zaira then sneered "I am just fine. I just took a rest". The paramedics and guards looked at her.

"In the middle of the stadium?" they then uttered. At that Zaira shrugged.

"Well would you look at that" Flip then said and grinned "My friend Zaira here, just made a big show to trick you all, into believing she was death. All planned together with Mr. Heartland of course. Showcase before the finals. Give them a big hand".

"Wait I didn't do.." Mr. Heartland then began, but was interrupted when the crowd began cheering big time for him and Zaira, stating this was an awesome show.

At that Mr. Heartland bowed deeply and stated they would have an intermission on 10 minutes. Then he turned towards Zaira and the gang, but when he directed his attention at them, Yuma and the crew had already left.

Yuma's p.o.v.

"Do you think we are safe now?" Caswell then said and gasped after air.

"I think so. I don't think they are following us" Tori commented and took a deep breath "Remind me never to run like that ever again". Yuma nodded. He had clearly beat his record in running here.

"That was some fast thinking there Flip" Bronk then added "If you haven't come up with that idea, people would have begun to ask questions".

"Well everything to get us out of there" Flip then replied "Lucky Mr. Heartland likes to be the center of everything. I read it in a magazine once".

The others nodded and tried catching their breath. They were just outside the stadium. It was the only place they could think of for the time being, but they could still hear the crowd and Mr. Heartland if he ever announced anything. Yuma sighed deeply.

"That was a close one you guys" he then said and could see Astral nod beside him.

The ghost however was staring at Zaira who also was standing a little away from the others while stretching every muscle in her body. Yuma figured she was still rigid from being death. Soon everyone was actually staring at Zaira.

"What?! What are you all staring at?" she then said in annoyed tone.

"Zaira why? Why didn't you tell me?" Yuma then began and tears were shown in the corner of his eyes. Zaira looked puzzled at him.

"Tell you what?" she then questioned.

"That you would die, if I ever acquired your number card" Astral then said in a firm voice and Yuma repeated everything he said, so his friends could hear as well. Everyone was really staring at Zaira now. The orange haired female sighed.

"Well there is really not much to explain. That was my end goal from Astral world anyway" she then said "That is my duty as your protector Astral".

"To give up your life? Just like that. I don't believe you" Yuma then said angrily.

"I know full well about your mission my father gave you" Astral then said in a firm, maybe even angry voice. Yuma had never heard Astral being angry before. "I saw Cy's memories in the number card. However I believe we don't always have to do as my father requires. At least not this time". Yuma and Zaira looked puzzled at him. Astral looked really determined.

"Astral, are you.. rebelling against your own father?" Zaira then slowly asked.

"Perhaps!" Astral then said firmly and flew in front of Zaira "I am at least finding some of his rules unreasonable. Like giving me a protector, while expecting you to die for me. Just so I can gather Cy's powers. This is terrible wrong. I advise you to never, ever do that to me ever again Zaira. You are my best friend. So don't die!".

"Yeah don't die Zaira" Yuma then said and hugged her deeply. "You are my sister and I just saved you from Vetrix. I can't bear to lose you again. You are part of my family, and family sticks together no matter what". He could hear Zaira sigh. Then a fist hit him in the head. Yuma let go of Zaira and groaned in pain.

"What was that for?" Yuma then sneered and looked at Zaira. She just snort.

"I told you to stop calling me sis" she then said and turned her back to all of them. Yuma had a feeling Zaira was emotional now and didn't want to show them though. Then she turned to face them again. "But fine, I will not die. Who shall else help you take down Vetrix or collect all the numbers. Or find my brother. It is not like I care about you or anything".

Yuma and his friend just grinned. Zaira was true proud to show her true emotions here. Sounds from Mr. Heartland who announced that the final duel was about to begin could be heard. Yuma looked at the stadium.

"Well guess it is finally happening" he then said slowly "Tine to take down Vetrix".

"Yuma, I believe you can save everyone from Vetrix" Zaira then said and surprised them "I know this, because I was at this side for a while. I know how his powers work. Or so do I believe. If you defeat him, the power of his crest might be broken and you should be able to save every soul he has been taking. Like you did with me".

"Yeah! That's encouraging. I am so gonna kick Vetrix butt now, and get Kite and Hart back" Yuma then said determined. His friends all smiled at him.

"You represent all the duelists out there" Bronk then said "So beat Vetrix for all of us".

Then they were holding their hands together in a circle. Yuma and Zaira looked puzzled at them. Yuma figured they wanted to give him the pep talk and courage to go all the way in the battle with Vetrix.

"Come on Yuma and Zaira, join in" Cathy then said and poured like a cat. Zaira and Yuma quickly did that, and surprisingly Astral also placed an invisible hand there. Then it was like he was part of the group two, which he of course was.

"So go out there and win" Bronk then said "You already fulfilled your promise to Shark in saving Zaira, so I am sure you can win over Vetrix". Yuma nodded.

"Wait Shark?!" Zaira then said stunned "Now that you mention it, where is he?".

"You don't know?" Flip questioned "You beat him in the competition, in a rather painful way I must add. You sent him straight to the hospital".

"No! Your lying!" Zaira yelled and pulled quickly her hand back. "I would never hurt him like that in a duel". Yuma looked puzzled at Zaira. She didn't remember that?

"Well of course not" Bronk began "But you were under Vetrix control, so don't blame yourself for hurting him. I know Shark isn't..". Without warning Zaira grabbed Bronk in the collar of his shirt. She was staring at him with a wild, furiously, glare.

"What hospital?!" she then sneered out. Bronk looked scared at her.

"The.. central hospital" he then replied slowly "Please let go of me". Zaira snort coldly and let go of Bronk. Then she began running away as fast as she could.

"Zaira, don't leave! What about my final match with Vetrix?" Yuma then yelled, but Zaira had already left out of sight. Yuma sighed deeply. He had hoped she would stay and see him duel in the carnival.

"Ah don't worry about Zaira" Tori then said and winked with her one eye "She apparently have something important to do. You can't blame her for leaving. I think she remembers Shark final words in that duel. But you still have us. Which reminds me. I have something for you".

She was holding out a wrapped up lunch pack. It was not as big, so Yuma could carry it while dueling.

"Duel fuel. I know you have to stay strong to you win" she then said and Cathy was hissing angrily in the background. Yuma smiled happily.

"Alright there is no way I can lose now" he then proclaimed with a smile "Thanks Tori. Now I am differently sure to win". Then he walked back into the stadium.

"I differently hope you are right Yuma" Tori then mumbled in the background.

Zaira's p.o.v.

I was running and running. I didn't care about much else. All I had on my mind was reaching the central hospital as fast as I could. I didn't care what was happening around me. Thoughts however were running towards my head now too. All about Shark. They were all about him. I had thought the duel with him had been a bad dream or something, but when Flip told me that I hurt him in the duel, some of the missing pieces when I was Vetrix puppet returned to me. Then the voice I heard in my prison made by the past me, had been true too. Then I really heard Shark's voice. I could remember him shouting to me. How those words woke me up in there. I just had to reach Shark now. I just had too.

"Zaira! Wake up! You got to wake up! I know you can hear me. You never been keen on helping Vetrix, so why now? Show me the fierce wolf I befriended!".

I remembered the words he had shouted to me. I remembered that I wanted to reply him, but couldn't because of the barrier I was in. I clenched my fists. Now I had to make up for it. I rushed down the streets, as fast as I could.

"Zaira, if you truly are in there and are awake, then please listen to my voice. You would properly think this sounds uncaring and uncool. Actually I know it is, since I have never done this before. It was something I have been meaning to ask you, but things kept getting in the way. That and truth to be told, I might also been afraid to really ask you. I was afraid of the answer. Zaira, you are one of the kind. A fierce wolf, who's almost never afraid of anything. However you are also sweet, caring and funny as well. You make my heart race. I wish to be with you every minute, no every second of the day. When you are not around, I miss you and I can't stop thinking of you. What I mean to say is.. Zaira I.. I love you!".".

When those words entered my skull once again, I couldn't stop myself from crying. Shark had.. Shark had confessed to me. He had shouted his heart out in that duel, and all I could do was attacking him and destroy him completely. He liked me! He really liked me!

"Shark wait for me, I am coming" I then shouted out of the blue and ran even faster through the city towards the central hospital.

"I am here to see Shark!" I breathed out at the counter in the reception.

I took a deep breath again, and tried to calm my beating heart, and worn out legs. The receptionist, a lady nurse, was smiled at me, but I figured she saw me as very amusing, since everyone in here had noticed me rushing in here at the front door. I must have looked like a complete fool, but I right now I really didn't care.

"Shark?" she then questioned me with a puzzled look.

"Oh right, um Reginald Kastle" I then replied. I forgot Reginald was Shark's real name. "I am one of his friends. Shark is a nickname we call him. However when I heard what happened, I kinda rushed in here. I really want to see him".

"Name?" the nurse then asked and clicked the keyboard to the computer. I figured she was gonna check me up in the system, to prove I really was his friend.

"Zaira. Zaira Wroom" I then said and the nurse clicked in my name. Then she smiled.

"Ah, you are a classmate to Reginald it seems" she then said "You attend the same class as him too. Come along then".

The nurse left the counter, and began walking down the hallways of the hospital. I felt rather relieved after her.

We arrived a little while later, at a door who apparently was the room Shark was in. The nurse stopped up and I did then same thing. She looked rather serious now.

"I thought I should warn you" she then said "Mr. Kastle's condition is a little unstable, so don't do anything that could upset his heart rate or make his condition even worse. He is not in life treating danger, but still. I can't believe someone could be so cruel and attack him that bad. All because of a duel".

By those words, I looked guilty at the floor. I was the one hurting him. However at the same time, I was a little puzzled. I mean it was a duel, how bad could I have hurt him? I know you can get some bruises and stuff, but come on. Then I entered the room and found out I had to eat those words. I was actually rather shocked. Shark was in coma! He was lying in a comfortable bed, with an oxygen mask on. He was given drop through one of the veins in his arm, and connected to a machine that counted his heart rate. That however was not was surprised me the most though. His arm with the drop, well I could see burn marks on them. That made me pale. I walked over his side of his bed and carefully removed the blanket. I just needed to know how much damage I had caused. I just had to know. I found Shark was dressed in hospital ropes, but even with that on, it couldn't hide the damage that I had caused. I would be lying if I said I didn't gasp a little. I even dropped the blanket to the floor. His body was filled with bruises, burn marks and millions of cuts and scratches. I gulped a little. Only two monsters I knew in my deck was capable of this. Flame devil wolf, and Cy's chaos form. I was sure the cuts were from the chaos form. There were millions of them. It was no wonder Shark went unconscious, but in a comatose?! The duel must had caused him a lot of stress or shock of some kind. Maybe even both. When I finally got over the sight I had been seeing, I picked up the blanket and placed it carefully around Shark. I didn't want him to be cold. Actually I didn't want any of this happening to him. I grabbed a chair, who was standing a little away from here, and sat down beside him. I took his hand. I had seen him done that to Rio before. I just hoped, Shark would notice my presence and wake up.

"Shark, it's me, Zaira. I am not sure you can hear me" I then said slowly "I got free from Vetrix's control. Yuma.. he.. saved me. However without.. you dueling.. without your courage I couldn't.. without you I wouldn't be able to wake up and..".

Then I broke down and began crying. I was really crying in front of him, but at the same time I didn't care. I just wanted him to get better. To wake up!

"Shark, Shark, please wake up" I said and some of my tears fell on his cheek "I am so sorry. You were so wrong Shark. I am not a fierce wolf. I am weak. I couldn't break free before This happened. Yuma had to save me. I beat you up! I am nothing but a pitiful wolf who lost a fight!".

I let out a cry again and bowed my head towards the ground. I felt so ashamed. I placed my head close at his on the bed, while holding his hand. I just couldn't stop crying. What I didn't notice was that a magenta aura had appeared around me now too.

Yuma's p.o.v.

In the meantime.

Yuma and Vetrix duel had begun. They were at the top of the duel tower, where the finals were taking place. However they were not just dueling on a simple platform, but also dueling, inside something called a sphere field. Inside this field, the duelists could summon number cards easier. By overlaying two monsters in their hand with the same level, they could summon a random number from their decks. However if they summoned Numbers, by using this method, the number cards was destroyed when it ran out of Ou. However that didn't stop the battling duelists. After a some conversations back and fought, where Yuma found out Vetrix had sacrificed the 4 Arclight siblings to further his revenge, Vetrix and Yuma had, by using the effect from the sphere field, managed to each gather 3 number cards on the dueling field. Vetrix was having "Nb 10 Illumiknight", (2400 att) "Nb 30 Acid golem" (3000 att) and "Nb 8 Heraldic king Genom Heritage" (2400 att) on the field, while Yuma had "Nb 17 Leviathan dragon", (2000 att) "Nb 34 Terror bite" (2900 def) and "Nb 39 Utopia" (2500 att) on the field. Yuma's friends were at the tribune and was rooting for him. It was currently Yuma's turn...

Yuma: 1600 Lp's.

Vetrix: 4000 Lp's.

Yuma and Vetrix was staring each other down. The dueling until now had been rather epic and the crowd was going crazy over them.

"He, he, three monsters I am impressed Yuma" Vetrix then said in a teasing voice and smirked "Maybe you are finally getting lucky".

"I don't have to get lucky" Yuma then sneered out "I have skill on my side".

"We can win this battle Yuma" Astral then said firmly "Now make your move".

"Right" Yuma then replied and activated Leviathan dragon's eff.

By using one Ou it gained 500 att points. Yuma quickly made the dragon attack and destroy Illumiknight as well as giving Vetrix 100 points of damage. Then he made Utopia attack and destroy Genom heritage, and like before he dealt Vetrix 100 points of damage.

"Oh so you destroyed two of my monsters" Vetrix then pointed out "So what. I still have acid golem on my field. It has 3000 att points".

"Yeah?" Yuma then said and used his last card in his hand "Well not anymore!".

He activated the spell "Xyz triangle force". Since Yuma had 3 Xyz monsters on the field, he could destroy one card on Vetrix's field. Like his Acid golem. The three number cards, joined their powers together and soon they had gotten rid of that golem.

"Maybe I underestimated you Yuma" Vetrix then said and sneered a little.

"You think" Yuma then said in a prideful matter. "Cause without any number cards, there is no way you can beat me".

At the tribute, Yuma's friends smiled happily at that.

"In the end, Yuma could actually pull this one out" Caswell commented.

"Vetrix got no cards left in his hands, and no facedown cards either, so Yuma got this in the bag" Bronk then added with a big smile.

"Yeah Yuma is gotta win it" Flip then said and began cheering together with Cathy. Only Tori was having a worried expression. She didn't believe it was over just yet.

"My turn is finished Vetrix" Yuma then said and ended his turn "And soon you will be too". At that Vetrix actually chuckled rather darkly.

"He, he, Oh come on now. You don't seriously think you can beat me, do you Yuma" He then replied and smirked rather evilly.

"You bet I do" Yuma then sneered angrily "I am gonna beat you for what you did to Hart, as well as did to Kite, and for using Zaira as a puppet".

"Well then I have to disappoint all four of you" Vetrix then replied in a cold tone "You see Yuma, your three monsters, can't come close to defeating me".

"What?" Yuma sneered out. That couldn't be true. "Why?".

"Because your deck is no match for mine" Vetrix then stated and drew. "Now it is my turn to feel the flow". Then he pointed his tongue at him in teasing manners.

"Just kidding!" he then said and smirked.

He continued his move. He banished a "Heraldic beast Unicorn" from his grave. By doing so, he could summon an Xyz monster from his grave, but it lost its special eff's. He chose "Illumiknight". Then he banished another unicorn from his grave, to summon Genom Heritage from his grave.

"It doesn't make a difference Vetrix" Yuma then pointed out "My monsters have way more att points than yours do". Astral floated down beside him now.

"Unfortunately for us, I do not believe his intentions is to attack with the monsters he has resurrected" the ghost then said "If attacking were his goal, Vetrix would have chosen Acid golem, because it has the most att points".

Vetrix smirked. He activated the spell "Heraldry reborn". With this spell he could bring back an Heraldic beast who was lv 4 or below from his grave. He chose "Heraldic Beast Berners falcon". It was an lv 4 monster with 1000 att points. He activated his monster's eff. Now he could make all monsters on the field have the same level. That means that Vetrix's 2 xyz monsters, suddenly was lv 4.

"Xyz monsters with levels?" Astral said rather horrified.

"Now Vetrix has 3 level 4 monsters" Yuma uttered "Not good". Vetrix smirked. He overlaid his three monsters, to summon his most powerful monster. "Nb 69 Heraldry crest" who was a rank 4 monster with 2600 att and 1400 def points.

"I was afraid he would summon this number Yuma" Astral then said. Yuma nodded. He was rather horrified. Tori and the others had told him about this number. Heraldry crest was that number who had defeated Kite's Neo galaxy eyes.

"This number is a symbol" Astral then said "It is a symbol of Vetrix's thirst for vengeance". A that Vetrix smirked evilly.

"Ah the mighty Heraldry crest" he then said "You are face to face with defeat Yuma. You may as well come face to face with me!".

Then Vetrix took off his mask. Yuma was not sure on what he was going to see. He had always been curious about why Vetrix was hiding behind a mask. However whatever he might thought the reasons could be, they never even came close to what he was witnessing now. There where his right side of his face were supposed to be, a glowing image of the dimensional space was shown. Where his right eye was supposed to be, a black void, resembling a black hole was there instead, and it looked like it was slowly consuming his face. Yuma was really staring. So was Mr. Heartland and Yuma's friends. Even Dr. Faker was surprised by this, even though he was watching from afar. The crowd however, thought this was special effects from the finals.

"Your, your face" Yuma then uttered. He was really shocked by this.

"Yes, while I was wandering through the kasem between dimensions, I experienced this interesting transformation" Vetrix then said and grinned "So while my heart is filled with vengeance, my poor face look rather empty".

"Yuma it is clear from his appearance, that Vetrix's spirit is no longer fully human" Astral then said. Yuma nodded. He had figured that out too.

At the tribune Yuma's friends looked shocked at the scene before them too.

"Yo guys that is not special effects" Bronk then said when the crowd went wild.

"You are right Bronk, that's what Vetrix really looks like" Caswell then commented.

"Yuma, run away" Cathy then yelled in a scared tone.

"Yuma is not a quitter" Tori then suddenly yelled and got up from her seat "And the least we can do, is let him know that we won't quit on him either. Yuma! We are with you!".

She yelled that last part out as loud as she could. She hoped he could hear her.

"Yuma and Astral" Vetrix then said and smirked evilly "Behold my power! This is the greatest, most powerful number I possess. Allow me to explain why. First off, you can't use any card effects to destroy Heraldry crest, but not only that, it also negates and steals your monsters special eff's". Yuma's eyes widened in horror.

"Wait, it can use my monster's special abilities" he then uttered.

"That's right Yuma. So no matter what monsters you have, they are powerless against Heraldry crest" Vetrix then told him "And now I will prove your father's high ideals are just as worthless as you are".

Then he activated his monster's special eff. It negated the effect of every single monster on Yuma's field, and took them as its own. Utopia, Leviathan dragon and Terror bite were powerless now.

"He has stolen our monsters effects" Astral then uttered. Vetrix smirked.

"Now for a bitter taste of your own medicine" He then proclaimed and activated one of Heraldry crest's new ability.

By using one Ou, it gained 500 att, thanks to Leviathan dragon's eff. It now had 3100 att points. Then Vetrix banished his "Heraldic beast Leo" from his grave. By doing so, Yuma's monster, he picked Leviathan dragon, lost att points equal to the change in Vetrix's monsters att points. So Yuma's dragon lost 500 att. Then Vetrix made his monster attack. His target was of course Leviathan dragon. Yuma got tossed through the air together with Astral. They both hit the sides of the sphere in here and got tossed around like crazy. Their dragon got of course destroyed and their life points dropped down to 500. The crowd was of course rather stunned by this display.

"Can you go on Yuma?" Astral then asked him. He was flashing in and out. A sign that his life force was draining along with their life points. Yuma nodded.

"Yeah I am just fine" he then replied.

"Liar" Vetrix then said and grinned "Why not be smart and give up while you can? I am not like Trey, Grace, Quattro and Quinton, Yuma. I'm invincible! The power difference between Heraldry crest and you, is like the difference between the power of a parent and a child". Yuma sneered a little.

"Yeah, you would say that, because you are a monster too. Just like Heraldry crest is" He then replied and pointed an angry finger at Vetrix.

"What?!" sneered Vetrix angrily.

"I finally get it now. Quattro, Trey, Grace and even Quinton too. They were all great. They were awesome. They fought hard to support themselves, and fought even harder to be there for each other. And to the end, they were all concerned about you" Yuma then said and clenched his fist in an angry matter "But still, there is one thing I don't get. Why they threw everything away, for someone who is nothing!". At that Vetrix sneered at him and clenched his fists.

"You think they owed you their lives because they are your kids, but you are wrong" Yuma then continued "They had complete faith in you. They hoped you'll become a regular dad again someday. When you came back, why couldn't you do that for then?! Why couldn't you try to be a father, instead of just trying to get revenge?!".

"It is impossible for a child like you to understand" Vetrix then replied slowly.

"I do understand" Yuma then replied "I understand exactly what it feels like to lose a father, and I guarantee that's the feeling your kids had when you went away". Vetrix actually gasped a little at that. His eyes even widened in surprise.

"But the sad truth is, you just didn't care, did you?!"Yuma then continued and tears were shown in the corner of his eyes. Vetrix sneered angrily at that.

"Be quiet!" he then yelled "How dare you talk to me in that!".

"Well I care about this duel Vetrix" Yuma then said rather determined. "And I am gonna fight for Quattro, Grace, Trey and Quinton. You throw whatever you got at me, but I am never gonna quit on them!".

"We'll see" Vetrix then replied "You will be crushed by Heraldry crest soon enough. So for now I'll just end my turn". It was Yuma's turn now. He looked at the ghost.

"Astral, there is only one way to win" he then said.

"You mean.." Astral said a little surprised.

"That's right Astral. The only chance to beat him, is with the power of Zexal" Yuma then replied. He was rather determined by this. Astral nodded in agreement.

"Alright, by the power Zaira bestowed on us, it is time for you and I to build the overlay network" Astral then began and Yuma added in "Go Zexal morph!".

They transformed into two different colored light now. One red, that was Yuma, and one blue, that was Astral. They flew around inside the giant sphere, which even surprised Vetrix a great deal. The two energy waves soon collided and in its place, Yuma reappeared with golden hair, and engulfed in his famous red/white Zexal armor.

"When two distant souls become one, the power of Zexal is revealed!".
