Chapter 29: Dungeon 9-4-16

On Aragorn's last attempt, Pippin woke up. He started coughing out tons of water and choking on it. Aragorn rolled him onto his side and he coughed rapidly. He coughed and coughed until his voice was squeaky and hoarse.

"It's okay, just breath," Aragorn whispered to him.

Aragorn was surprised by the amount of water he had coughed out. Pippin breathed hard and his chest went up and down quickly.

"Pippin!" Merry exclaimed. He punched the goblin holding him back and also went to Pippin's side. Merry looked down on his horribly white face as his teeth chattered and he shook uncontrollably.

"Search them!" the goblin king suddenly announced.

Everybody got pulled away from Pippin and the Goblins took their weapons and threw them on the ground in front of their king.

"Bring them to the dungeons now!" he shouted happily.

Boromir brought Pippin to his side and wrapped his cloak around him as they walked with the rest of the goblins. Merry limped behind them slowly the best he could. The goblins mostly just dragged him along.

As soon as the goblins and the Fellowship reached the dungeons, the companions realized that the floor had changed from stone to ice. Merry and Pippin's bare feet kept slipping as they walked.

When they got to the cells, Legolas was put into the second cell to the right and Gimli was put into the one across from him. Then Aragorn and Boromir were lead into the first cell next to Legolas and Pippin got torn away from Boromir and went into the cell with Merry. The Hobbits were across from Aragorn and Boromir and next to Gimli's cell.

A/N: I am so sorry this picture looks kinda bad. I drew a really detailed picture of this exact thing and it looked perfect and orderly. When i was looking for it today i couldn't find it anywhere and i am really disappointed about that, so sorry. I just really quickly drew this so you  could have a visual. :)

The cells were very different from the Orthanc cells in Isengard. These ones had a small window that brought in the light and the coldness from the outside world. The cells were also a lot smaller and much colder due to the window leading outside to the snowy mountain.

Pippin crawled into the corner of the cell and curled up into a ball and shivered. He also coughed and had an occasional sneeze, but his skin was returning back to its normal color a little. Boromir took off his coat and scrunched it up into a little ball.

"Merry," he whispered.

Merry looked at him. Boromir tossed his cloak over to him and Merry caught it through the bars. He also slipped in the process due to the ice floor and fell hard on his butt. "Ouch,"

"Thanks, but you didn't have to," Merry said.

Merry crawled over to Pippin and wrapped Boromir's coat around Pippin's body and tucked it into him. Then he put his arm around him and they snuggled close trying to stay warm. Aragorn and Boromir helplessly watched from across the way.

"We are stuck again, indeed. How do we get out of this one?" Gimli grunted in frustration.

Legolas looked around his cell, but there was no way out. Aragorn looked to the small window in his cell. He went over to it and looked out. It was exactly level to his face as he looked out into the outside mountain. It continued to snow, but a little lighter than before.

"Boromir," Aragorn whispered.

Boromir came over and looked out the window.

"Is that the lake of Ruhn?" he asked.

Aragorn nodded. He looked around and saw no goblins so he did what he must. Aragorn put his arms out the window and then pulled his head through. Then he tried putting the rest of his body through, but his shoulders were too broad to fit through. Aragorn came back inside the cell and brushed his arms off.

"Worth a try," Boromir mumbled and sat down.

Aragorn and Boromir both looked at Merry and Pippin and then back at each other.

"No," Boromir said firmly.

"I know, I would never," Aragorn responded.

"Thank goodness they didn't just see you try," Boromir whispered.

"I was only trying to find a way out," Aragorn said defensively.

Boromir stood up and got close to Aragorn's face and said a little too loud, "Okay, fine! But they can fit!"

They kept bickering back and forth. Across from their cell, however, Pippin was sleeping and Merry didn't want them to wake him. So he got slowly up from Pippin and limped to the cell bars.

"Hey! Psst," Merry whispered.

Boromir stopped mind sentence and looked over to Merry. Aragorn looked over too.

"You need to sit down. How is your leg?" Boromir asked in a nicer tone than he was using for Aragorn.

Merry shook his head and said,

"Don't worry about me. Pippin is sleeping, so please be quiet,"

Aragorn looked to Pippin and then back to Merry and said,

"As hard as is seems, you have to wake him,"

"Why in Middle Earth would you do that?!" Boromir proclaimed loudly and looked Aragorn up and down.

Merry looked confused.

"Since he was nearly drown, he needs to be awake and breathing deeper breaths," Aragorn explained, "Also, since he nearly froze, he needs to be awake so his blood and muscles are moving faster,"

Merry understood and nodded. He went back over to Pippin and shook him gently awake.

"You know what, whatever!" Boromir shouted and threw up his arms.

Aragorn turned to Boromir calmly and whispered,

"I suggest you get some rest,"

Boromir made and angry face and turned to the corner of the room. He sat down and put his head in his hands, but stayed quiet. Pippin woke up and started shivering again. The Fellowship was all confused and upset at the moment all for different reasons. They hoped somehow they could get out, but right now there was no hope found in that.

A/N: I hope everybody is still enjoying this!
