Chapter 24- Beginning to the End
We waved goodbye to Thor as we started to head toward the Bifrost, "We both know that we aren't going to keep that promise to Thor about not doing anything stupid right." I said as we acknowledged Heimdall who was moving to start the Bifrost.
"We need to end this, stop Thanos from collecting anymore gems." Loki said seriously as he told Heimdall to head to Midgard.
"I know you know where the Time and Soul are." Loki said as we made our appearance in Midgard.
I sighed and frowned, I was told by the keepers of both gems that I shouldn't let the gems get in harms way. Chewing the bottom of my lip I nodded, "We'll meet back at Montauk, you know the one I'm talking about. Tomorrow, twelve o'clock." I said to Loki who seemed to be a bit displeased with the plan but nodded anyway.
I watched as he magically disappeared. Making sure the coast is clear I let out a breath I was holding in and focused on the Underworld where Uncle Hades was.
Next thing I knew I felt my hair flow through this soft wind before I felt my feet touch solid ground again. Opening my eyes I looked around and saw that I was indeed in the Underworld.
Wincing when I realized I was near the Fields of Punishments I quickly made my way through the Underworld long time memorizing the place and finding Hades Palace quickly.
As I arrived at the gates the guards there (which were literally skeleton) stood in front of me with their spears crossed.
Not feeling like picking a fight with them today I told them to tell Hades that his favorite nephew needs to see him.
No sooner than expected Hades came out of the palace with a scowl on his face (though it is sometimes normally like that), "You are not my favorite nephew." Hades said but I heard the small joking tone in his voice.
"You're right, that would be Triton silly me." I said with feigning innocence.
Hades scowl just deepened until I pulled him into a manly hug, "It is good to see you uncle." I said honestly as I greeted my favorite uncle.
"I have heard what has transpired in New York. Are you alright nephew?" Hades asked seriously as I saw that he made sure I wasn't hurt or something (Overprotective much?).
"I'm fine uncle. But I think we should have a talk that includes the Soul Gem." I said deadly serious to convey how the matter is in fact deadly serious.
Hades face deepened into a frown as we started to head toward somewhere where we could talk in private about the subject.
After telling Hades everything and what at least part of the plan is I could tell uncle didn't like it but could see Loki and I's points.
"I will give it to you, try not to die." He said part-joking, part-serious.
"You'll be the first to know." I said joking and winked at him.
Hades rolled his eyes at me as he had two skelly-guards grab the box that contained the gem.
"What of the gem in Loki's scepter?" Hades asked serious.
"The plan is to retrieve the scepter that had been stolen and get the gem. If anything, I believe Thor may intrust his friends to retrieve it while Loki and I do something 'stupid' in his book. Which is ironic because he probably would be just heading straight to battle before the whole Midgard Banishment thing. You know?" I asked fully knowing I was rambling just a bit.
Uncle Hades just chuckled lightly and handed my the gem, "I would put it on some sort of necklace and make it blend into the environment, people wouldn't ask about the glowing orange gem then." Hades said as I studied the said orange gem.
Frowning and looking at Hades I asked, "How do I make it hidden?" I asked frowning and turned the gem over studying the detail and the powerful magic I felt that was flowing through the gem.
Hades looking extremely amused tapped my forehead twice, "Think about your cousins and their jobs. Specifically a cousin that revolves around magic and the destiny of paths." Hades said looking extremely amused as I face palmed.
"You want me to see cousin Hecate?" I asked because while I met her a few times she wasn't always that right in her head. Especially if she was in her Roman form.
"Unless you know a powerful spell that will keep it hidden, I would talk to Hecate about The Mist too." Uncle H said and I nodded in understanding.
It did make sense after all, so after telling my uncle goodbye I put the gem in my pocket fully intended to follow what Hades said and make it a necklace.
Disappearing in a smoke of magic and water I found myself on the Olympus once more in my lifetime.
"Time to see about that Time Gem." I muttered to myself (then mentally high-fived because of the pun) and started my way down the golden pathway all the while now thinking about that little book that Wizard of Oz book fully remembering the demigod who based the book off of Olympus.
